As a repeat customer to the Ranelagh Oslo facility I am beyond shocked at the treatment which I received by one of its staff members today. My daughter and myself were both booked in for pedicures and for myself an additional gel manicure replacement. Admittedly my daughter was confused about scheduling time and arrived a few minutes late. Rather than being given a standard pedicure which she was scheduled for she was only given an abbreviated session, but charged full rate. Alternatively, while I was promptly there for my scheduled appointments Lauren, the assigned manicure technician seemed immediately stressed by the fact that what had been written in the computer was different from what I actually expected or needed concerning my manicure. Lauren then passed me off to another technician claiming that that person would be more capable of removing my polish. Lauren, then later jumped in, and spent nearly an hour, literally causing me physical pain while attempting to obsessively trim my cuticles. When I told her that she was taking too much time, or that it was hurting me she ignored my concerns and told me that she believed that if she trimmed my cuticles back further, I would not risk of nail disease. I have been having professional manicures for 30+ year and have NEVER experienced such obsessive and unnecessary cuticle trimming nor have I ever suffered any nail disease. What became apparent was that Lauren was waiting for her next appointment (presumably a regular that she was more familiar with), and after obsessively, annoyingly, and brutally abusing my nails abruptly got up to complain to the front desk manager and then had the nerve to walk away from me and proceed to her next client WITHOUT finishing my manicure! Meanwhile the receptionist was only able to offer me, at the earliest, an appointment 3 days away on this coming Friday. The reality is that a salon and it's staff that is so rigidly scheduled that they cannot accommodate slight need changes or have on board a staff that can accommodate all services offered should not be claiming to then offer a respite from the daily grind. Sadly, my daughter, and I spent the evening polishing our own nails and lamenting that we even bothered to walk into Oslo today. read more
