Our workplace was looking to find something different for Friday lunch. I have heard of the chain but did not know they were in Barrie so we thought we would try them out. I had the philly steak wrap while others had the special chicken wrap and chicken shawarma. Everyone was happy with what they had and i was impressed with flavor the wrap. I got the falafel and rice. For 12 dollars ( thats including tax), you get quite a large portion of food. I had 5 large falafels and a tone of delicious rice. There is also tahini, garlic, and hot sauce that you get to put on. The servers dont cheap out on the sauces and they are delicious. The hot sauce is very hot and I have a high tolerance for spice, so put it on the side. The reason I took off stars is due to the food safety. None of the cooks were wearing gloves. Also when the sauce wasnt coming out, the employee simply banged the tip against the counter which did not look very clean. This can definitely cause food poisoning and is a health hazard. I will write an update on how I feel after eating here. Overall the food I would give a 4. They really need to step up the food safety though, hence I took off a star. This Osmow's used to be good but over the years has left alot to be desired. The recipes have changed and the food tends to cater to the hot spicy palate. I don't consider this Mediterranean food anymore and their falafel while being flavourful are over fried and too crispy. I won't be ordering from here again. The food is also expensive. read more

Ordered online through the Osmow's website hoping that my order would be ready when I arrived. The email confirmation said it would be ready in 15-20mins but when I arrived, they didn't have my order. When I inquired, the man behind the counter was so rude.. telling me "you have to wait", "you have to wait". It would take some time for the order to arrive to them, from the online system, he said. I asked if I could just show them my order that I received online. They told me that they can't do that. There were three guys behind the counter, but they seemed disorganized. Customer after customer came, ordered and left. I stood waiting for 30'min. What a frustrating place. I read the reviews on Yelp before placing my order but I wish I'd paid attention to these reviews. I will NEVER come here again. read more

This place is amazing! It's pretty pricey for chicken and rice but it's great food and you get so much. I am a big eater and usually am quite full after a meal here. Many of my friends can't even finish theirs and take it home. I recommend getting the Osmows Special or just Chicken Shawarma. You can choose to get rice or fries, I suggest the rice because fries get soggy. read more

Started off good when they first opened. Now this place offers under and over cooked food depending on who cooked it. Not cool when it is chicken or ground beef that did not come from a good cut of meat. Food absorbs the grease and burnt residual waste left over from that last overcooked dish. Personal hygiene of staff and over all cleanliness of the cooking area should be seriously reviewed. If they had a spot inspection, they would have many violations if not ordered to close until it is resolved. read more

Nothing worse than soggy fries...except for undercooked chicken (especially when you order beef); wonder how this is going to come out Ya...and Sammy's lamb is like 1000 times, better, BTW. The poor young girl working there (her 2nd day in) was scolded in front of me twice. Not cool... Awful osmows, most locations are amazing... this one is not! Came here last week and ordered chicken on the rocks and asked the employee if he would be able to mix the sauce in to the rice before putting chicken on top. Now I would understand if the store was packed and busy, but I was the only person in there. He told me he was unable to do this, while he handed me a spoon and told me that it's "not that hard, do it yourself". Food is decent, has good flavour employees are nice. Beef kofta dinner: Kofta was cooked well (it was from frozen so not as juicy as the ones you can get in Toronto but this is barrie I can't complain) Rice was the bad part and why they lost 1 stars, it was MUSHY just seemed to be to much water made in the rice usually kofta is with loose rice this was more of a clumpy yellow rice Salad was a garden salad tasted good, I'll be back to taste the schwarma. Way better than other kebab places in barrie, I'll be back to try more of the menu! UPDATE: had the chicken schwarma twice now and really enjoy it! First time at Osmows tonight, went to the Barrie location. As a vegetarian I was happy they had beyond meat shwarma, the wrap itself was good tasting but pretty chinsy on toppings and very messy to eat! Also ordered a Medium Greek salad and was definitely ripped off, when I got it home to eat it it was minimal shredded lettuce, tomatoes and some cucumber, no dressing no feta no olives like the picture and description show, such a waste of money! Sammy's is getting some competition in town. This place is pretty good. Very very friendly staff which is nice, I was at an osmows elsewhere and the workers were not pleasant. Shawarma and salad came to just over $10 and you get alot of food. Like that they generously sprinkle sumac over everything before serving. read more

Honestly the shwarma was pretty good but the fry portion was tiny why even offer it as a combo? There were 16 fries in my little container not even filling it half way, and not 16 nice massive, big fries but they were soggy butt ends too. The longest I've ever waited for fast food in my life. I must have been waiting for a half hour. Then the order was wrong.

I was not impressed with Osmow's at all. It was my first time trying it last night. I ordered the philly veggie wrap. The guy at the counter said it had peppers, onions and a cheese sauce in it but failed to mention mushrooms. I hate mushrooms and was disappointed when I got home and ate it. It also took at least 15-20min for my food to be ready! I only ordered the philly veggie wrap and a chicken shawarma wrap for my husband. It definitely shouldn't take this long. We love meditation food. We will drive many miles out of our way for a good meditation restaurant. Unfortunately Osmow's is not worth the drive. Tastless falafels. There house"special sause" also no flavor. Dishes and combos that look good, but again no flavor. This is the first time I have posted on yelp. Fast food style Mediterranean food at decent prices!! I've had the lamb kofta, both the beef and chicken shawarma and I've been happy every time. They give you a good amount of food for the price you pay and if you're really hungry go for the larger size pita, you'll be full! Open late as well so there's always a better option that McDs later at night in most occasions. read more

I love this place. I go there often. Amazing food & great prices. Owner is super friendly. Have introduced several friends to it & they are hooked too. Love that this location is also open very late. Haven't taken advantage of that fact yet, but I'm sure I will when I get a late night craving. It's close to the movie theatre, so you can even hit it up after a late show. Their shawarmas are the biggest I've had & I can't get enough of the chicken on the rocks...or on the sticks...or the half & half. Haha! read more

I would give zero stars if I could I wouldn't even feed this to my dog it was a bag of slop with no chicken definitely do not go here.

Food is good but one drawback is the confusion that ensues if you try to ask for fries to be packaged separately so they're not soggy. A lot of Mediterranean/Lebanese restaurants seem to have this problem. Fries always end up mixed with sauces/gravy/meat/etc. The service is friendly and the prices good. read more
