They made big mistake with my order but they were great at owning up to it and showed exemplary service in doing so. They got the grape vine wraps which goes great with fries. I will go back just for this. Keep in mind shawarma on weekdays may not be freshly grilled but kept in containers they scoop out of, or regrilled. But the beef shawarma good either way. Sauces for sharwarma in addition to regular sauces they have there is also a yogurt like sauce addition that give great taste. But all the side toppings does lean toward the saltier side. I'd recommend asking to replace all with rice. Lettuce on weekday seems a bit old, brown and yellow spots... try to go on weekends Eggplant dip bought separately tasted sadly underwelming but might be a thing for some people. I had much tastier eggplant dips especially the canned ones. Theirs seems home made. Their food is decent 3/5 and service 4/5. You will feel people working there cares, unlike Made in Mexico on main st new location in my recent trip. My fave Mediterranean spot in Newmarket! This is a place I've been accidentally sleeping on, driving mindlessly by the huge sign and then I finally decided to give it a try on ubereats 2 weeks ago. Since then, I've been back 3 times and I absolutely cannot get enough. This is a clean, friendly business that doesn't skimp on their ingredients and they provide a delicious meal each time. They have an option to dine in, but we typically take it to go. The food is so warming and worth the $ (which isn't too pricey either) I always go with the chicken shawarma dinner on rice and it always lasts me two meals because it's so filling. The flavours are to die for, no? Especially the rice- geez, that flavour is bussin'. & I can't get enough of their garlic sauce! It comes with a drink as well. Following Kris' advice hasn't done me wrong yet, even when his meals are from 2-4 years ago. I guess something can be said for restaurant consistency! There's many rave reviews for the food here so I knew I had to try it out for myself as a fan of good shawarmas, gyros and döner kebabs. The meal here seems quite popular with young & old alike judging by the senior couple and then the mom with strollers. All of whom trekked here shortly after me. Now after visiting, I'm happy to report back that I was not disappointed. It was certainly one of the better shawarmas that I've had. A super friendly young lady at the counter expertly rolled the hunk of meat and veggies together before toasting for the crispy skin. Chicken Shawarma came with garlic & tahini sauces that were savoury though watery. The moist and flavourful chicken chunks melded well with the fresh veggies, sweet sesame, hot peppers & sour pickles for a flavourful affordable meal. It's true, Chez Talal is located at an awkward plaza, but the standalone restaurant itself looks fresh even having an outdoor patio if you're in the mood to watch road traffic. I was in the area last weekend and tried this place. This is located inside a small plaza with ample of parking spaces. The lady server was super nice and friendly. Didn't even charge me extra for the garlic sauce!! This taste AMAZING!!! All this (Mixed Beef & Chicken Sharma dinner) for just $14.99 + tax!! There was a LOT of food!! The size was super generous. Comes with a huge pita, lots of meat with choices rice or roasted potatoes and veggies of your choice (there were a lot more selections but I just picked out what I liked) plus a drink. This place has recently changed ownership so we took it upon ourselves to compare it to the old one. The restaurant itself was set up much nicer with table clothes and proper menus. The man behind the counter greeted us and we set about figuring out our order. There really is no point in looking at the menu as their shawarma was their old speciality. So in order to make a fair comparison it had to be done. The portions still come in the same container, filled to the top with goodness. A little light on the meat content, but it's a new shop so I get it. There was a second menu above the glass display that was not on the main menu. These had no descriptions as to what they were, so we didn't order them. Overall it was a good dining experience, consistent with the previous owner. Definitely worth checking out. read more

If you're looking for good food at a good price, stop reading this and just get to Chez Talal now. This is my new favourite place and soon it will be yours. My mom is vegan and I lean more towards vegetarian options, so it's always tough to find a meal place that offers more than just French fries as a vegetarian option. Chez Talal changed all that. Ignore the plaza it's in and how it might be hard to turn into if you're travelling east on Davis. Just turn around somewhere to get into the westbound lane so you can go here. The portions are so generous that we ordered a falafel dinner and it was enough for two people. The selection of homemade hummus and babaganoush were wonderful and we agreed it's our new stop off while out shopping. The customer service was top notch and I'd give them top ratings on that alone. They were so helpful and friendly and offered us extra pitas just because she thought we might need it (and we did!) I'm happy to add another review to the other glowing reviews for this place. It was those reviews that brought me to this place. The *only* criticism I have is that they use styrofoam containers. I'd love to see more eco-friendly options, such as washable plates & cutlery, or compostable containers like Mucho Burrito uses. read more

Fantastic Food. We've been ordering from here for a while now, but yesterday added a new dish to our repertoire that put the finishing touches on a gastronomical delight. We ordered the low carb dinner with hummus, tahini sauce, garlic sauce and Caesar salad. The chicken shawarma with garlic sauce and tahini sauce (just meat) and the Majadara rice. This was my family's first time ordering form here and the food was delicious and such a nice change from your regular pizza/burger takeout. I ordered a chicken shawarma dinner with rice and it was so so good. The garlic sauce is everything, and the hot sauce is so spicy (which I could never say no to - it has such a good burn to it!) The meal comes with tons of chicken and rice, pickled veggies, a pita and hummus. It's delicious on its own or all mixed together with the pita. Being Lebanese myself, its very hard to find authentic and GOOD tasting Mediterranean food, especially Lebanese. I stopped by and grabbed one chicken shawarma sandwich along with one falafel sandwich (I was hungry). The first thing I noticed was how much the owners reminded me of my own parents. This is literally a "mom and pops" shop, as real as it gets. The chicken shawarma was one of the BEST I've had. Flavourful, juicy, clean cut chicken, and you can tell the veggies were fresh, and not in the fridge from the day before. The garlic shawarma sauce was heavenly. Make sure you ask for a bit extra, I like to get one on the side for dipping. (Id also recommend asking for a few fries on the shawarma, that's how its done in Lebanon) As for the Falafel, this was my major concern. Ive tried Falafel in over 10 restaurants and it was a shame to see how poorly made it was each time. Ive had it all from microwaved and soggy, to fried and undercooked. I was AMAZED by how delicious the falafel was! I found out after complimenting the owner that he is famous for his Falafel. It was perfectly crispy, cooked all the way through, and is literally the best falafel I have ever had. Was told to wait for 15 minutes for my order, then after 15 minutes was again told to wait for another 15 minutes, when people who ordered after me received theirs. When the order came, everything was wrong (asked for fries for 2 dinner orders, they gave me rice) and the food wasn't worth the price (fried cauliflower was very oily and stale and falafel dry). Not sure why all the good reviews but this was definitely the last time I ate at this place.
