Tried the half and half chicken shawarma which is half fries, half rice. Thought it was pretty good. Worth the price for the quantity.

Ordered Chicken & Beef (half and half) on the rocks with fries as well! If you would ask me if the food is tasty and worth the buy, I would tell you hell ya! But if you ask me whether its actually authentic Mediterranean or Middle Eastern food, well than I would probably say I highly doubt it, despite their claim that it is. Regardless folks, if you're looking for a place that still serves all those classic Middle Eastern foods like shawarma, kofta, kebabs and various dinner plates, than give Osmow's a try because the food is still really good and they give pretty big portions too. For newcomers coming to this Markham location, just know that it's on the left hand side of Main Street Rd coming North, or your right hand side if you're coming down South from Stoufville. It'll be in the same large plaza as Home Depot but just on the other side of the plaza facing the main road. Overall, 4/5! read more

I'm trying not to be too critical because they just opened. First off, food is good. Pretty tasty. Aside from that.... Service was slow, took about 30-40 minutes for a beef kofta and chicken Shawarma wrap. Granted, it was busy. They forgot to give us our salad, no big deal normally but it sucks because I saw them mess up 3 orders in a row right before me. Yes, I should have checked but I was with my 10 month old and shouldn't have to do quality control for an establishment. Speaking of 10 month old, they have no high chairs. So if you are thinking of coming with a little one. Again. This review is for 3.5 stars. Heads up - we originally wanted a lamb dish, but were advised the entire chain would no longer have lamb on their menu. We called ahead of time to place a take out order, and I'm glad we did. We had a small order of beef kofta and baba ganoush; we were advised that our beef kofta would take 15 mins to prepare (not sure why). Our wrap was the "super" (large) size, and it was big enough for my husband and I to share, especially because we had an appetizer to split too. The flavours were good, but the sauce in the wrap definitely lacked that "punch", as someone else had mentioned in a previous review. The baba ganoush was good, but not the best we've had. I genuinely don't know how authentic this place is in terms of Middle Eastern cuisine, but we liked the taste. It wasn't overly salty, which is good. Customer service was very nice and efficient. Loved the sharwarma poutine! The white sauce and hot sauce was a great compliment to it. Hubby got the chicken shawarma platter which comes with salad and rice. Again there was the white sauce and hot sauce. There was quiet a line up but only took us about 15 minutes to get our food. I would definitely go back whenever I get a poutine craving, this place really hit the spot! The place though was rather oddly decorated, only a few tables and chairs for sit down and painted an awful orange. The floors were pretty dirty (but then again it is winter) perhaps more staff would help with balancing the clean up and serving up food. read more

Usually at other places for the same price its a large with a salad. Food came fast since the rice and chicken was sitting in a food warmer. What I love most about Osmow's is the rice and the amount that they give you. For a sunday afternoon, it got pretty busy; I ordered my regular - falafel on the rocks. The falafels that they gave me were smaller and the amount of rice and sauce was not as generous as other locations. read more

Found this place a month ago and got the chicken salad, which was delicious and next time got the "just chicken" also delicious a little expensive for the quantity, however both of these meals came in styrofoam containers. I waited 20 minutes for 2 chicken shawarma wraps. Wasn't really worth the wait. Customer service wasn't great as no one really addressed us even though we were standing at the same spot for the entire duration. The person making the wraps at the time looked clueless. it is Ok. the server couldn't answer any questions because she "...had never tried the food..". Really? that's odd, work somewhere and even if its fast food, should be able to know difference between the Shish tawook, shawarma or kebab..."I don't know, I haven't eat here"!!! For tthe wrap, no point ordering the large or super - they just throw an extra pita over it with not extra stuff. Carb overload. This location has a lot to learn from others. I've been here three times and two other locations too many times to remember. This location skimps on portions of meat and give too much rice. The quantity of sauces is way too little as well which makes the food too dry and if you want more sauce you have to pay. Their menu shows veggie schwarma options, but every time I'm there, they don't have any of them except for falafel. Falafel schwarma was pretty good. Falafel on the rocks was really bad. 6 burnt falafel pieces on rice. My fav Toronto place (Schwarma Frenzy) has the same quantity plus salad for a better price. Gave Osmow's a try today for lunch and enjoyed it! I had the half/half beef, which is beef shawarma on rice and fries. They re-cook the beef on the flattop with tomatoes and onions when you order, so the final product has a texture more similar to cooked ground beef. They topped the beef with an extremely generous amount of creamy Osmow sauce. It's pricey for the portions you get, but I enjoyed my food and it's nice to get more diverse food options out in this part of Markham. Would come again! read more

When they first opened they were like any other Osmows, but soon after they started giving so little sauce. A chicken on the rox is so dry because they hardly give any sauce, and if you want extra, it's an additional $0.85! That's ridiculous because the rice and chicken is mean to be on the dry side and then eaten with sauce. read more

this location was closer to me than the one on woodbine, but from now I realize it is worth driving the extra mile. I am not satisifed, I payed $15 for a large half & half chicken, and the quantity I got was so small.Other locations give you heaping amounts. came here since it has been pretty popular lately, and i ordered the chicken on the rocks as a friends recommendation. got a large size half rice half fries for 2 and it was huge we couldn't even finish it. rice and chicken and sauces were good, originally asked for mild but it was too little so i got the little spicy and it was good. the sauce is pretty intense spicy tho. the fries were ok, kinda cold when i got it. i had a glance of their takeout menu and i think their everyday special is the medium chicken on rocks? not 100% sure tho. it was good but just not as good as i thought since it has been so hyped up lately. i'd come back tho read more

It was our first time at Osmow's. We had the Sish taouk and half and half chicken. The food was fresh however we found they put excessive sauce on top for which it did not present well. Plus the sauce kind of killed the taste. I'll give it another shot and ask to go easy on the sauce next time. read more
