I live in Estuary for a long time…read more Pros: Proximity to NYC: This place is so close to NYC with amazing bus services during the morning and evening commute. So, it takes 15 - 20 minutes to be in Port Authority if there are no traffic jam on the tunnel. Sometimes buses are busy and there is a long queue, but 3 or 4 buses come at a time and clear the queue. This building has amazing NYC views and views from some of the apartments are breath taking. Apartments: The layouts of the apartment are good with adequate closet space as well as all apartments have good natural light. And the apartments have the best appliances, especially building 3 which is new compared to other buildings. And to top it off, there is Whole Foods next door. Facilities: There are 3 gyms and they are mostly empty. All of them have the needed equipment. The only thing missing in 3 gyms is the Free Motion Smith Machine, but that is not going to be there in any of the apartment gyms. The best part if you are working from home is you can get the party room open if they are available during the week days. And there is a kid's play room which is so big with lot of toys. To top it of there is a children's park next to the apartment. People: The people in the complex are very friendly and understanding. They smile and have a small chat, which is hard to see in the NJ area. We had a baby and I asked so many questions to many residents here and they all helped us with the perfect answers. Most of the residents are couple or just starting family. Maintenance: This apartment complex maintenance team is the best. All the issues are fixed within minutes the issues are raised. The team goes beyond their ways to make sure we are satisfied. We have raised a number of requests but they just come and fix them. All the hallways are really clean and tidy all the time. Concierge Desk: The concierge desk makes sure all the package requests are taken care properly. They also take other minor requests and every time you go to pick the packages; they are always welcoming with their smiling faces. Leasing Office: Everyone in the leasing office is friendly. They make sure all the issues are addressed properly. They organize so many events in the complex so as to make a friendly community. I have moved at least 7 times in the apartment complex with crazy requests and they always make sure that moves happen in the schedule I want. I know all the staff work here very hard to make sure that we live in one of the greatest apartment complex. Cons: Even though this place is so close to Hoboken, going there takes at least 30 minutes as there is always traffic as well as finding a parking is so hard. Even though it is so close to Manhattan, there is nothing near by. Yes, all the restaurants near are mediocre and you will get tired within a week or two. After a month, NYC & Hoboken seems very very far to go for a dinner and you feel like you live in a suburb and just order in Uber Eats.

Just two of our experiences. Out of countless ones. - Heater went down on a Friday all of a sudden after coming back from work. This included the warm water. FOR A WHOLE WEEK. In middle of winter. We stayed at a hotel, then their response from the super who always has an excuse is to provide two of those portable heaters and get the fireplace working. Keep in mind this is east coast winter. - the mail room is a jungle. Take a look at the photos . It's that way 24-7, in not kidding. Property manger is off Monday. Fine. There is a clock on the wall that says when she'll be back during working hours. She's constantly not there. This place clearly is decades old, and they try their best to pass on cost through your deposit back to you for annual maintenance for next tenants. Parking is a joke. They said they needed all cars out due to cleaning but never did and we saw plenty of cars inside garage, which you pay for. We moved to a different place about 15% more expensive per month. If you can afford it and I completely agree that some can't given conditions, please focus on your peace of mind instead of the therapy we felt we had to go through. So much more but just glad we are in a better place now.

From from the moment you enter the lobby and then visit the floors, you will see just how shabby, unkept and rundown it is. For nearly two years there has been massive construction throughout the parking area with no end date in sight. Not only are you subject to jackhammering 8 hours/day from 8am to 4pm but the dust has encapsulated everything. Please see the plethora of complaints on all review boards. Because of the ongoing construction parking is severely limited so you are forced to valet your car leaving the tenants furious and irate. There is no guest parking and therefore valet charges all the visitors $5/hour. There is more than ample reason the building is never at full occupancy as the turnover rate is enormous, rightfully so. There is only ONE washer and dryer per floor for 18 apartments which break constantly caused by the overloading. They have outsourced the machines to a private company in order not to deal with it and instruct the tenants to use another floor. Tenants are apoplectic especially when their clothes are trapped in standing water. Management has absolutely no regard for tenants inconveniences. NONE! The front desk staff are nothing more than potted plants who do nothing more than press a button to open the doors ONLY if you don't open it. Half the time no one is even at the front desk. They are either upstairs, leave to get food and or asleep so anyone can enter the building. Security is non-existent. The garbage rooms on floors are beyond disgusting. People throw trash on the floor with food still in it. There are complaints of mice and roaches and nothing is done to correct the ongoing problem. Nothing is ever washed and/or steam cleaned. Carpets, garbage rooms, etc. One tenant described her floor like living in the slums, it's so disgusting No rules for dog owners and several tenants allow their dogs to urinate right outside the front door in the rotunda. Others tenants allow their dogs to urinate directly outside the side door and also defecate in the garage. Dogs urinate on both the front and side lawns and bushes, rather than simply using the opposite part of the sidewalk. There is no handicap ramp in the lobby which is a violation. You have to go through the garage to the side door in order to avoid the stairs. This is an enormous hassle coming home with groceries as the concierge just sit there. Even more precarious is trying to maneuver a stretcher down these stairs as the emergency vehicles are unable to access the side door because of the low clearance. The elevators are extremely small and can only accommodate four people. Your moving company will charge overtime for the extra trips it will require in addition to not being able to fit any large furniture. The tenants all denigrate the building manager James Mason. If excuses were an Olympic sport, this management team would take home the Gold Medal leaving you exhausted with his loquaciousness when it comes to addressing any problems. His excuses are so banal and outrageous they're devoid of all reality. Many tenants are so exasperated and furious by James behavior, they use expletives to describe him. The overall condition of the building can be attributed to his total incompetence as a property manager. It is so filthy dirty and disgusting it will leave your skin crawling. Give the plethora of newer, well maintained apartments throughout Hackensack and Bergen County, I could nor would I ever live at The Pierre. Don't take my word for it but rather inspect the entire building thoroughly to observe first hand how long overdo a complete and total renovation is. The building is a pigsty, just look at filthy stained furniture in the lobby and the inside of the elevators before inspecting the basement, garage, floors, laundry rooms and especially the garbage area's. You'll gag! There are also rats by the Luxor lockers as they are kept outside in a covered area.

There is no wall thermostat, so you are constantly either too hot or too cold. I wake up throughout the night to manually adjust the temperature. I work from home and have to turn the unit off during calls just so I can hear people. I was also told that the units are not turned on during apartment viewings, which means prospective tenants have no way of understanding how disruptive the noise is before signing a lease. The shared washer and dryer are also unpleasant, and the hallways feel dated and depressing. I am counting the days until I can move out. At this point, the only resolution I want is for management to allow me to leave without penalty. The HVAC noise has made living and working here unbearable.

The views are just…read morespectacular; either from any apartment, which all have views of NYC skyline or from the pool area which has full unobstructed views of the entire skyline. There is a 24/7 doorman and security, onsite super + maintenance crew, gym, parking and as mentioned a heated pool, beautiful gardens and in the summer a community herb garden. The building also has its own NJ Transit bus which picks up in the morning and does drop off at night. Plus, 2 other free shuttle options 1 which brings residents to the Hoboken Path train the other is the Weehawken ferry shuttle. Another big bonus is the new Trader Joe's just down the hill from the building a definitely perk.
