If you're wondering why your electric bill becomes unusually high in the winter at this community,…read morehere's something many residents may not be aware of: If your unit's utility room is located on the balcony, there is a space heater inside that room designed to prevent the water heater and pipes from freezing. When temperatures drop, this heater turns on automatically and can run for long periods of time--using roughly 2 kWh per hour. In cold weather, that means: Nearly 50 kWh per day Well over 1,000 kWh in a month This is often the real reason winter electric bills here can spike dramatically, even if you're careful about turning off appliances, limiting hot water use, and not running HVAC. The heater itself serves a "valid purpose?" (protect pipe good, but why i have pay for it?), but its energy impact is significant and not something most residents are informed about in advance. I raised this issue with apartment management after receiving a winter electric bill that was several times higher than normal. Unfortunately, my requests were largely ignored and no meaningful resolution was offered. As a result, I feel compelled to share this publicly so other residents and prospective tenants can be aware of what they may be facing. If you're considering living here--or already do--check whether your unit has this setup and be prepared for much higher winter electricity costs.

Pool that's only open 2 days a week (on weekends only)!? WTF!??? I was excited to tour this…read moreproperty, but cheap management ruined it for me. What is the point of paying for amenities I can't even use except on mobbed weekends? (2 days a week during summer only = a pool I might be able to use 5x a year unless I spend every weekend at home and never travel or leave home on weekend?).. Maybe good for local yokal Jersey Boyz who never left a 15 mile radius from their parents' house and don't travel on weekends to see the world and experience real life. My favorite thing about having a pool is taking a dip after a long day at work! I was also a bit reluctant b/c the property is basically in the middle of nowhere, off a NJ highway spaghetti-nightmate of loops and on-ramps and off-rampa....totally suburanite, car-landlocked only (unless you enjoy running across the highway and a $40 Uber every time you wanna have a night on the town and not go drunk driving). I was willing to look past location until I found outi couldn't even swim my way home unless it was a weekeend. Also, apparently you have to pay water and sewer through their "portal"...which is double-speak for inflated utility surcharge costs, aka kickback to middle-company utility company that probably goes right back into the management/owner's back pocket as well. Why is Jersey so shady?? Stuff like this makes renting in NYC look easy and ethical! (P.s. 20yrs+ New Yorker and I work in real estate also. I'm onto all your tricks.) "Rental Beware!" Property management scams like this should be illegal. HARD PASS! You just lost my business. "LUXURY LITE" + PAULY WALNUTS MGMT, LLC FAIL!!

The people who staff the 24-hour attended lobby are always friendly, helpful and quick with retrieving packages from the (well-organized) package room. The HOA board members have open ears for any and all ideas for the building, which really makes a difference in creating a cohesive community, along with having courteous neighbors. The units here are spacious, with high ceilings and beautiful finishes. Oh, and one of the best parts? Every unit has its own balcony! Eastern-facing apartments have sweeping views of the New York City skyline AND the Hudson River. Could you ask for anything better? Well, there's more: A well-equipped fitness center, an extra large playroom for children, and a huge lounge with seating, kitchen and billiards table. Oh, and a giant outdoor terrace, complete with grills, tables and chairs for summer BBQing! Wanna get across the river to NYC? No worries there, either. Cross the street and you have your choice of NJ Transit buses, as well as privately run buses, zipping by nearly every minute to take you to Port Authority in 10 minutes. Perfect for those of us who commute to the city for work -- and for pleasure on the weekends! I'm so glad we moved to Union City and chose The Thread as our first home. We've loved every second of it!

I had a complete flood due to poor plumbing work, terrible neighbors and the building management does nothing about it, nothing. The last draw was when my vehicle was damaged due to the lack of effort to stop kids from playing in a heavily transited and dangerous parking lot, then that same Saturday morning I am awakened by loud thumping at my door, it was one of the neighbors and kids that thought it was funny to try and kick my door in, yes kick my door in. I called the police as I had the entire thing recorded. I will attach the video once the police give clearance on the investigation. The part that upsets me the most is the management doesn't care. I told them what happened and even sent them the video and they said if I have a complaint about a neighbor I have do fill out a complaint form. I told them I don't care about the complaint, already filed with police I was just letting them know, no response. I have been trying to get them to acknowledge my move out date and no response at all, literally no response. My lease is up and they didn't even send me a renewal or acknowledge my move out date.
