There is sand lot right next to the…read moremain beach making it super convenient, especially when you have young children it's easy to run back to the car and makes the worst part of a beach day, trekking back to the car with cranky, tired, sand covered kids while carrying enough chairs to fill a home a whole lot easier. If you have AWD there is a secondary lot access allowing you to park your vehicle directly on the beach. The bigger AWD vehicles (Jeeps, pickup trucks) can go all the way to the other end of the beach where the sand is like powder and the water is almost clear blue. The waves on the main beach were nonexistent so a lot of family with younger kids stayed on that side, it was quiet, kids playing in the water and parents chitchatting. On the AWD access it was more lively. Lots of big groups, young and older. Lot of different music, playing beach games. Down at the very end the waves were much bigger and that's where I saw most of the surfing taking place. Great for collecting shells. Lots of cool seabirds. On the main beach there were hermit and Filder crabs (they are too small for their pinch to hurt). Overall a great beach.

I really liked this park. When I went, it wasn't that crowded. If your car can handle it, you can…read morepark right on the beach. There is plenty of non-sand parking available. It was cool watching the St. Johns River meet the Atlantic Ocean. From what I could see, the only bathrooms available were port-a-potties. There are also very few places to seek shade, so you gotta make sure to bring your sunblock and beach umbrella.

Cabin had electricity, ac, a mini fridge & freezer, a double bed, a single bed, a microwave & overhead fan. It was comfortable and clean! The folks who work at the campground; Charleen, Kelly & Rudy were just the most welcoming & warm people we've come across in a while. Check in/out was super easy, firewood that you purchase is delivered right to your cabin. Theres a shop with lots of things if you forgot anything & really pretty reasonably priced. Plus there's dvds you can just check in or out for free. Theres an adorable patio off the main building where we had a blast playing battleship and shuffleboard. We also ordered food. I'm from Pennsylvania and a good cheesesteak is far and few between it seems down south.. this place has the best cheesesteak I've had in years. It was hot, greasy & packed with flavor. Food was 10/10. Also; the bathrooms were surprisingly clean & it was a rainy day/night. Hiking trails are a 5 minute drive. Theres a dog park at the campground, that was awesome. The only semi negative thing I could say is the cabins are pretty close to each other so there's not a ton of privacy. If you're looking for an intimate camping experience, that also feels really safe, this is the perfect place. We will definitely back and I do HIGHLY recommend! Thanks again for a great 5 star experience!

The one worker that is stationed at the house, was friendly and very knowledgeable. I just wish that there were more furnishings in the home, but there is a plaque that actually addresses this. Be sure to bring your phone with you so that you can follow the audio tour (again, free!), and you might even get a chance to see some bald eagles in the front of the house. You will definitely need your camera! TIP - there isn't a ton of parking, so be sure to go earlier in the day.
