Stayed at this hotel 2 nights and this definitely will be a place to come back to. Check in was great, service was amazing, employees were very friendly and helpful. Our room smelled so fresh and clean. Hotel is older, but very well maintained. The view was incredible and the price for all this was better than anything else of this quality. Best part is the pool is heated which was nice because it was chilly and windy out. Great place, super great for places with families. So many amenities and they provided us Liquid Iv upon check-in which was needed if you've enjoyed a night of drinking. read more

I reserved a room for myself but was unable to use it, so I wanted to let my daughter use it instead. They made me change the name on the reservation through Orbitz where I booked it. Not sure why I had already paid for the room but whatever it was easy enough. The hotel is older I only went up to look at the room before I left. Beautiful views!!!! i reserved a room at osprey fir 10 days months in advance , cone time to go to the thunder rally things had changed and could only go five days instead of ten when I called to revise my reservation as they said you can but at different rates , they doubled my rate and said to bad that's how it goes. I'm not going to be robbed like this so unable now to find a room for the rally so not sure what I'll do , probly miss out. terrible policy , all about the $ never go here again. read more

I can see a big difference in this place. The prices are not that much lower than other places. There needs to be updates done. They only have one elevator the wait it long. The room has no guide for the TV It does have cable this year last it was a joke a streaming type never could watch it. I know they. aren't updating things in room is an advertisement for a pizza company that has been out of business for a least 2 years now . I called that place last year and this year. If you don't want update things a great place for you to stay. I think the quality has changed through the years. Hopefully the owner will update soon. read more

Nice service. Great view of the beach. It's right across from a bar though so you can kind of guess what that means. Also people in the street were drag racing at 2 in the morning but that kind of effects every hotel by this street so I'm not going to let that change my rating. The rooms are nice and clean. Went with a large party in June, 7 rooms in total. Our family has stayed here for over 40 years and will never go back. 2 of the rooms were in very poor shape inside, one being a suite! Another rooms balcony had exposed rebar, which with a quick glance up, was far from the only one with that issue. 2 of 7 credit cards used only for this hotel have also been hacked since we returned. The front desk was extremely rude. A situation occurred where a young man touched a young female inappropriately in the pool and not only was he not kicked off the property but him and his pervert grandfather were allowed to stay and make other guests uncomfortable for 2 more days and continue to use all amenities. Yes complaints were made about this by our party and several others and no, nothing was done to rectify them being allowed to stay. read more

This was our third year spending our week-long vacation in Panama City Beach at Osprey on the Gulf. We enjoyed it so much again this year we took advantage of the repeat customer/book early discount we reserved our room for 2023! The respite is quiet, the only noise is the occasional loud car/truck driving down front beach road. The staff are always friendly and eager to help in any way possible to make our stay the best possible! If you are looking for indoor water parks or a resort so big you can get lost in it or on-site restaurants, look elsewhere. If you are looking for clean and comfortable accommodations with friendly staff AND only steps from the white sand beach, Osprey is your place! The same family has taken pride in the resort since 1957 and it shows! Due to delayed/late flights arriving we checked in close to 10:00 pm. Romeo (I believe that was his name) was ready to think of dining options that may be open late enough for us to make it to. read more

We've stayed here for a couple of years and the only complaint we've had is with a couple of guests . At the small pool they were teaching their teens to dive and doing belly busters their selves and then laughing when they splash you in the face is wrong . The hotel is older but clean and they will do everything to make your stay a good one, We will return. I love the management here, they are vey nice and treat you like family. read more

When coming to a destination that I have been a lot I have high exceptions with hotels and this was a new hotel for me! I honestly, I was pleasantly surprised! With only a few things I can nit pick are small very nit picky! But honestly if you want to stay close to Pier Park.. make book now! We liked our room... and the beach in front of the hotel was awesome because of the smaller hotel you have a lot more space in front to set up shop and spend your day on the beach! My husband was able to fish right in the surf in front of the hotel as well and it just hit the spot! We did not use the pool or the other accommodations but will be back to try them! The staff are friendly and accommodating! Seriously!!!!! Just book it now and thank me later. Here are my nit picks! 1. The elevators need to have fans in them! They are sooo stuffy! 2. The rooms were not stocked with a heck of a lot of utensils! You are only supplied with ONE butter knife ‍... We also asked for a kitchen sponge to was the dishes.. they don't supply them ‍. And finally... The stairs to the beach are HOT mid day... be careful... But honestly those are the small things I can pick apart! Other then that.... this place is a small gem in the middle of MOSTER hotel/condos... that is priced right and will get my business again if I don't come down with my camper!!! read more

Stayed here for one night, the room wasnt so bad at all. I mean like blanket covers and carpet were cheap, but it was clean, and pretty big, your own balcony, kitchen, for the price it was worth it. Only two cons i found was the elevator down button never worked, you had to use the up button but really go down. Second would be i went to used my debit card and wanted it ran by credit, there credit card machine is so old it doesnt work that way. Like this is an old ass one from like the late 90's. They seriously need to upgrade there credit card machines. Other than that, dont expect much, but for the price and clean, big, working, hotel room, worth the price for sure. Third and final thing is the $100 deposit they put on your card. So they dont charge your card, they put a hold on, they dont cancel the hold when you return the key, they just let it fall off like 5-7 days later, which is kind of annoying. Itd be quicker if they just billed you the $100 and refund later, or cancel the pending charge. So we checked out early Saturday morning, today is the follow Sunday and its still pending in my bank account. read more

I would've given 4 stars if the manager had responded to me as she said she would when I told her it was disappointing that they unexpectedly doubled all the prices on July 4 at the snack/tiki bar. This felt like total price gauging of guests who were already paying a premium ($399 that day for a room). The menu board is posted and prices listed, but they added a sign on July 4 which read all prices are double, and we were charged double for everything. The manager stated she knew nothing about this and would look into it and get back to me. I told her I'd give her a few days to respond before I posted reviews, but she never did. I sent a courtesy reminder and no response. So they're down to 2 stars and now we won't stay there again. If you're going to charge double, own up to it and respond when you promised you would. read more

I will never stay here again. I was told that karaoke at Shuckums and Donovan's were conveniently located so I was lucky to be So close at the Osprey. None of this was true. I never even used my room other than to set some papers they handed me at the counter. Donovan's was boarded up and achy hums was not able to accommodate the number of guessed. I didn't stay and ask to the refund, as I was not sleeping there and has zero service from the local karaoke attractions that were supposed to be available. I was told by everyone there including the owner that there would be no refund. DO NOT HERE. The people are money-hungry and not easy to work with. read more

Even other guests are friendly and mingle with each other. There are lots of family activities especially throughout the summer. Not far at all from Pier Park. Looking to book last minute! It's over the Fourth of July weekend. They will not accept any reservations that are not a 5 night minimum. It's just frustrating because not everyone knows their work schedule in advance. I hate when places inflate their prices & minimum night stay just because it's a holiday. I am not sure which room Wagner d. stayed in, but fortunately we quite the opposite experience. I have traveled extensively, both domestic and internationally, and have stayed in hostels as well as 5 star hotels. That said, don't be confused in thinking this is the Ritz Carlton. He mentioned something about hourly and daily rates for "a quickie". I can't speak to that, but can assure you that is a bit of hyperbole on his part. Of course, he may have first hand experience to share here. The bottom line is that this good value for the money spent; with a few qualifiers. The view is hard to beat. Each room faces the Gulf with a view of the pier which affords outstanding opportunity to view sunsets. We even spotted a bottle nose dolphin whilst having breakfast on the balcony. There is suitable parking and enough locations to dine at with in walking distance. Most notable is Shuckums oyster bar and Grille. However, right across the street is Mr. Tip Seas which offers up a dozen raw oysters for a mere $5.00. They need to advertise more as they are new to the location. Dusty's deserves a mention as well. The crowd is a bit more lively and they have they sell a dozen of the best Apalachicola oysters for 5.95. Its bit more of of a walk (.7 miles), but worth it if your hand is holding another that is special to you. I would point out that the bedding is a bit thin. We normally fly, but drove down on this occasion and had extra pillows and a blanket. Housekeeping turned down the room with these additional items as if they were part of the original bedding. Nice touch. We planned on preparing meals throughout the week. We did. However, the pots, pans, and flatware left something to be desired. If you plan on cooking a lot in a small kitchenette, and your driving, I recommend a sturdy pot and a pan to do the "heavy lifting" as what is supplied is impervious to any amount of olive oil. It will stick and you will scrub. A poor use of time by anyone's estimation. Ask for Ivona at the front desk. She is a gem. read more

The place isn't bad but the beds need to be upgrade. I don't remember the beds being this bad. Been coming here for at least eight years and the place always done us right. The staff is super friendly the rooms look meh, but the pool and the hot tub are nice. The tiki bar is ok and it location under the build right on the beach. The beach is beautiful and chairs that can be rented. The cost for three days for the chairs is $65.00. It comes with pads and umbrella. (Note: make sure to wear sunscreen if you are under the umbrella, because you can still get burn by the UV rays that reflex off the sand). read more

My husband, and other family members have been coming to the Osprey and the Driftwood for 19 years with my husband John and I coming twice a year. We absolutely love love love this place! The staff is wonderful, the rooms are clean. We love having the kitchen, 3 pools, hot tub, free popcorn, movie night, Captain Doug's famous fish chowder, cold Florida watermelon. We are always treated great by everyone! We love the Gilmore family and staff and will continue to visit as long as we are physically able to. Such a neat little place with pleasant staff, it is a shame I must give them such a poor review. Today as I went to enter the pool (small pool by the office) I noticed 2 infants in the pool with diapers on...not "swimmies" but regular diapers. As I stood there in amazement at the disrespectful and oblivious parents, a third child around the age of 2 1/2 stood up on the side of the pool, pulled her bikini style trunks over and urinated in the pool standing up...right there. The parents had a good laugh but believe me they quickly left the area as well. I have looked around and saw nothing posted which could be considered a policy for infants in the pool. I inquired of the Manager on Duty what the policy was and she stated "well the State doesn't have a policy so there isn't much we can do", also adding she agreed it was disgusting. She advised they "check" the water 5 times daily but the pool didn't pass the smell test. There was never a security guard or attendant walking around policing the rules...although 1 person did check for my wrist band. The Manager was very pleasant, and I didn't make a huge deal of it. However, I did not get back into the pool and felt very bad for those who did. Right down the road is a place with a much more aggressive policy towards pool cleanliness. They actually test the water every hour on the hour and they have a strict rule for infants stating they must be in "swimmie" type trunks or not in the pool period. The water is also obviously more chlorinated as one can tell by the smell. Nothing about swimming in other peoples fecal contamination appeals to me, and E Coli can be a deadly situation for young children. Warning to parents of young children. I would say the attitude I encountered bordered on obtuse. Never again for me unless I see or hear that they start taking this serious. read more

My family has been coming here for 6 years now, my extended family has been coming for decades. Each year seems to be declining bit by bit, this year being the worst. When I expressed my disappointment in some of the things that were not available during our stay that they specifically stated would be in their email 2 weeks before we arrived, Suzanne berated me and tried to make me feel guilty about their predicament with hurricane recovery efforts. I explained to her we simply would've appreciated an email stating not all things were available or an update to their Facebook page. She continued to speak to me in a condescending manner which was neither necessary or appreciated. We do not need to give our business to someone who does not appreciate it. My family and I really love this place. It's been our home away from home for over 20 yrs. My nieces and nephews who grew up coming to the Driftwood/Osprey are now bringing their children and making memories. It is really convenient to Pier Park (walking distance) The rooms are clean and the cleaning staff is great. We were there during Tropical depression Debbie. We were also there during a major storm a few yrs before. Mr Gilmore came and apologized for the couple days of rain we had. What a sweetheart!! The only problem I've had is we were there for Hurricane Michael. We checked in on Sun and checked out Tuesday under mandatory evacuation. Upon leaving we didn't notice how much they charged us for the 2 nights we stayed. They charged us at full rate (we had intended to stay longer and got the discounted rate) I called to reserve for this year and the woman on the phone wasn't very helpful. I figured they would do something for us considering the many yrs we've stayed there. I can't believe they charged us full price when we had no choice but to leave. It's very disappointing. We did book for this year because other family members are going and have already reserved. Anyway that's why I gave 3 stars otherwise it would've been 5. We have stayed here 4 times in the last two years. It is our favorite! Love the location, breath taking beach views and nearness to the pier and Pier Park. Everything is right there within walking distance. The decor is a little outdated. But the rooms are clean and kept well. They are cleaned daily and the staff is great! The beds are very comfy. Or at least the ones we have slept in. They are very spacious rooms! Great for 4 adults! Having the kitchen is great as we cook almost every meal during our stay. We live 20 minutes from the Texas Gulf Coast so we can get good fresh seafood anytime. We find the restaurants a little pricey. Which is completely to be expected in an area like PCB. Just another reason why we love the kitchen in our room! Yes, there are a few things we bring from home...like a nice stainless steel pan and a larger pot for cooking, some extra serving utensils, paper plates and a sponge for dish washing (dish soap is provided) and of course our own favorite blankies and pillows! (But we would bring the latter two anyway-it is a 10 hr drive from home. We need those for comfort in the vehicle). We think those are little inconveniences compared to the great deal you are getting! We get to stay longer because the PRICE is AWESOME! FYI...there is a Walmart less than 10 mins away. We have no children in our group of four. But we have noticed the planned activities for the little ones. We have found the pool areas to be very nice and well taken care of! The TIKI BAR is very conveniently located for a quick burger and cold drink on the way to the beach! We spend most of the day on the beach, then relaxing on the balcony for a bit before cooking up a quick meal in the evening. After dinner at some point we always make time to walk across the street to Donavan's for a few drinks and a chance to get to know some of the locals or meet up with ones we have already gotten to know. We have made some great friends there! Most of the bars and clubs stay open until 4:00 am. So if you need a quick snooze before going out on the town, that's no problem! We love shopping at Pier Park. You can even catch a movie while there. The whole area has a fun laid back vibe! I think I've included everything we love about this place! It's the perfect spot for vacationing with our son and his girlfriend. Gilmore Properties make these times possible for us as a family! Thanks Osprey/Driftwood we will be back again and again! We will be making our August 2019 reservations in the next couple of days! My brother and sister-in-love may be joining us this trip! Can't wait! read more

Just left this place for a 3 night stay. It was fantastic! Obviously not the newest place on the beach, but much better than a large resort we stayed at last summer. It's smaller and has new paint/carpet/etc. in the room we stayed. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy with a perfect ocean/pier view. The staff was really nice and our rooms were cleaned daily. It's unfortunate others had a bad experience and felt it necessary to write irrelevant comments. Yes, it does have a small popcorn machine; they also have movie night, watermelon and other kid contests throughout the week. It was quiet and had everything necessary for a pleasant trip. I have stayed at many hotels and was not expecting much from this place but what we got was a nightmare. We expected a family friendly hotel and all that really meant was a small popcorn machine in the lobby, some games over 20 years old with missing pieces and seriously casual atmosphere. When we got to the room it smelled bad, the bedspreads were filthy it looked worse then I can imagine a motel 6. There was no lid on the toilet, the bathroom didnt look cleaned and we didn't even want to take our shoes off. There were stains on everything, carpet, chairs, walls, etc. We were in the room about 30 minutes when two massive roaches were crawling on the wall. We knew we had to leave. We had already paid for three nights in advance, that is how they get you. We went to the front desk and asked for any assistance but the manager. I had him come to our room to see the roaches. He told me we needed to keep our balcony door closed at all times if we did not want roaches in the room. I told him the reason we stayed there was the ocean view. He replied "well they should die once they enter the room". Gross! He was rude and refused a refund. We lost over $400 and drove back to the Holiday Inn Express in Pensacola where we could actually sleep at night. read more
