They continue to admit members when they have filled the gym with pre-existing members. Often times I found myself waiting for 1 of 45 treadmills to be available. 6 of them would probably out of service with no warning sign on it. 2. As far as the sauna, be prepared to be joined by 15 men. 1 of which will be taking a business call. 3. You will see a 45lb dumbbell placed in a 15lbs dumbbell spot on the rack because people don't understand how to put things back. 4. Lastly, their locker room is disgusting. My friend got Plantar Warts walking once barefoot. Towels are everywhere, locker room attendants are hitting their vapes. End of story, It's not worth the monthly payment unless you will be going 5AM-7:30AM or 7:30PM-10PM due to crowdedness.

We've been Life Time members for years and previously used another club where the staff were consistently friendly. I won't dwell on the facilities here--fees are high, amenities feel dated (though I know upgrades are underway), and comparable clubs in other high-cost areas offer more. That's not my main concern. My issue is the pattern of rude behavior at the front desk and the lack of awareness and follow-through from management. Most troubling, my child recalls being called "illegalist kid in the world" by someone wearing a Life Time jersey in the Kids Club. I reported this to both management and the Kids Club manager. There was no follow-up. My child stopped going for a while--especially disappointing since the Kids Club was a big reason we joined. I also notice a clear difference in how people are treated. We continue to go because it's convenient, not because I want to spend my hard-earned money where discriminatory behavior is tolerated or customer service concerns are ignored. For what it's worth, not all Life Time locations are like this--our experience at other clubs has been much better. I hope this feedback prompts meaningful action: acknowledge the complaint, follow up with families, train staff on respectful conduct, and ensure accountability. That's the standard members should be able to trust

At $250 a month for a single club access membership, it is simply not worth it anymore. The main issue is the deterioration of benefits without any change in the premium price point. Ever since Equinox decided to leave the partnership with Kiehl's and focus its expansion on the California network, the benefits of the gym have not improved; in fact, they've noticeably deteriorated. While the facility is still attractive, the value proposition has plummeted. I finally made the switch and decided to seek better value elsewhere. The high price no longer justifies the reduced perks and benefits offered at this location.

Personally, I don't care much for eucalyptus towels and I don't care much for the showers as I prefer to shower at home. They have 3 racks and tons of treadmills/ellipticals, etc. They have the basics to do a decent workout but they need some extra cable attachments and some additional benches imo. The overall layout of the gym didn't make much sense to me either. The racks are upstairs and the leg extension and hamstring curl machines are downstairs. I think the overall placement of the equipment can use some work.

For my introductory class, I signed up for their Core Pilates. It was really difficult to sign up. I had a hard time getting in contact with anyone (it took about 4 attempts). But when I finally did, the sign up process was easy. They had a lot of classes to pick from, including Pilates, Barre and cardio classes. I didn't realize when I signed up that this was a reformer class. I usually do mat Pilates, but there were a few other beginners in the class and the teacher was very patient and nice. The great thing about the reformer machine is that you can turn up or turn down the intensity of the workout according to where you're at. It does take more coordination than I'm used to being on the machine, but it was fun! The teacher helped make adjustments so I could get the maximum benefit, which I appreciated. The Hackensack facility was really nice and big. They had complimentary lockers and towels and the changing room and restroom were both clean. The membership is kind of steep at $279 per month, but they do have discounts for 26 years old and under an 65 years old and over at their other locations.

The owner first showed me a bike and said "don't worry, there is no weight limit." I have a great sense of humor and giggled internally, mostly because he thought that would go over my head. I calmly asked him why he would say that and he stammered. He may have thought I'd shrink. No sir, wrong lady. The Women's Locker Room is in need of a nice paint job to make it appealing. I can't tell you how many times I've gone in every stall to find one stall with toilet paper. Sometimes none found. One positive is that I've seen machines cleaned and vacuumed daily. The cleaning people on the floor are friendly and kind. There are a couple of trainers who made eye contact and spoke to me directly and I appreciated it. I had no luck making an appointment with any trainer. After making an appointment with one, he had a woman call me back to ask who I was and how I got an appointment with him. Shame for him, I was willing to buy a package from him after my first visit. I then had another trainer appointment and had car trouble so called to cancel 48 hours in advance and she called me back and blasted me that her time was valuable too. I gave 48 hours notice. Their arrogance was a lost opportunity for them. I found an excellent trainer outside this gym. As for the muscular brother/owner. Yeesh "dude" - you've officially won the "Get Over Yourself" Award. People come in all sizes and shapes. There was another woman here who wrote about you in particular. It's not a one-off. I've had a similar experience. I did not speak or complain to you or anyone in that gym ever and you still managed to do that to me.

I first joined in 2018 and it's sad to see how downhill the corporation has gone. The glory days ended shortly after the COVID pandemic. Since then, they've closed over 7 NJ locations, cut down opening hours, cut down on group classes, removed towel service, and have limited sauna and pool hours. I understand that it took time for gyms to recover and get back into full swing. But it's 2025 now. There's way too much competition in the fitness industry for 24 to be operating the way it is. I switch between the Paramus and Englewood Cliffs location, but I prefer this one since it's much bigger and has later hours. My biggest ick? The gym is not maintained well at all. Machines, equipment, hand dryers, and bathroom sinks are broken down for months. Dumbbells and plates are scattered everywhere, which is not 100% the employees' fault. There's a constant foul smell in certain areas, most likely due to broken pipes. The entire facility needs a deep cleaning from head to toe. What are we paying a maintenance fee for? Come on... Putting the negatives aside, there are some positives. *The Paramus location is spacious and has two floors. *The floor has all of your basic equipment: treadmills, bikes, stairmasters, squat racks, barbells, benches, dumbbells, kettlebells, TRX, cables, and machines. I can recommend this gym for beginner to intermediate lifters. It's not a bodybuilder or powerlifting gym. *Their Zumba classes are SO MUCH FUN. Don't judge a book by its cover... get in there!!! Take Lucia, Lynn, or Melissa's classes. Check the website for the full class schedule. *There's a basketball court, pickle ball games, and a racquetball court. *They have a sauna, steam room, pool, and showers with limited hours. I only use the sauna and it's relaxing when it's not super crowded. *My membership allows me to have access to other regional locations as well as bringing guests. Pricing is a bit all over the place. It all depends on when you join, what kind of membership you have, and what sales/promotions are going on. Some members pay $24 or $34 a month, while others are paying $54. It's best to ask the front desk what the lowest rate is. Overall, it's not the worst gym in the world. It gets the job done for my fitness routine. I just wish the maintenance was a lot better and that they would have later hours. Honestly, I've been thinking about finding another gym. If it weren't for the friends and community I've made and my lower price rate, I would have left awhile ago. I'm willing to spend more $$$ on a membership for a much better experience.

DECEPTIVE BILLING PRACTICES -- BE CAREFUL BEFORE SIGNING ANY AGREEMENT…read more After years of being a loyal member with no issues, I was suddenly charged an additional $19.50 fee with no notice or explanation. When I asked about it, I was told it was a "glitch in the system" that overcharges customers -- but that I'd need to talk to the manager to resolve it. To prevent future problems, I even put a new card on file. Before following up, I contacted my bank (Chase), and they confirmed there was no reason my recurring payment -- successfully processed more than 28 times -- should have declined. When I spoke with the manager (Andrew), he gave multiple conflicting explanations: first a system glitch, then a bank issue, then a declined card, and finally said he had no control because billing is through ABC Financial. When I asked how the issue would be fixed, I received no clear answer or solution. Instead, the manager became aggressive and ended the conversation by yelling: "GET THE F*** OUT, IT'S TOO EARLY FOR YOUR BULL****." Immediately, I asked again to speak with the owner or anyone capable of addressing the situation. I even reached out through social media. After one month, radio silence. Today, I received another notice: my card supposedly "did not go through," and there is no a $9.50 late fee and another $19.50 charge added on top. I'm genuinely disappointed. If the business needs to raise prices, be honest about it -- don't hide behind deceptive billing practices or "system glitches." I enjoyed being a member, but I can't support a company that refuses accountability, overcharges loyal customers, and treats them disrespectfully.
