We had extremely upsetting experience with Dr. Herman. We were transferred from another facility to Doylestown Hospital and he did not review my son's records or CT scan or throughly explain the procedure before draining an pertonsillar abscess. He used his personal phone as a flashlight (multiple times) with his gloves on, dropped a suction tool on the floor and still used it in my sons mouth. He initially planned to perform the procedure without a nurse present - When he decided to get one, he left the room and touched the curtains with the same gloves he used for the procedure. My son has a bleeding disorder requiring medication before procedures, which I clearly told him, but I was brushed off and he proceeded anyway. The entire visit felt rushed, unprofessional, and unsanitary, and I left extremely concerned about my son's safety. read more

If I could do a 0 a would. I made an appointment for a hearing test for my 93-year-old father. They charged $40 for the co-pay and did NOT do the test. They expect him to come back on another day and repay the co-pay for the test!! NO! When I call for an appointment for a hearing test- you do it!!!! read more

My daughter was complaining of ear pain. Made an appointment with Dr. Mass and was glad I did. He was great. It turned out to be nothing and she has healthy ears more than likely her allergies. The entire office was great. Very polite and professional. My daughter was nervous but she did great. I would recommend. read more

I had a very good experience at this practice. I saw Dr. Mass who listened to my concerns. He recommended a hearing test which their Audiologist, Janet performed. Afterwards, I met with Janet to go over some hearing aid options, cost etc. Janet was very good at explaining everything I needed to know. As it turned out, my insurance benefit wasn't covered under their practice, but was covered 100% under another, so I had to go elsewhere. When I called their office to get a copy of my hearing test, I spoke to Jessica who was the sweetest and most caring person! When I explained what I found out, she was super understanding and couldn't have been nicer...it was like she really cared about me as a patient and about the practice itself, telling me to be sure to come back if I needed their services in the future. I've had so many negative experiences with the medical field in the past year...this experience was so refreshing and I appreciated the professionalism of everyone I was in touch with at this office. Dr Smullen performed surgery on my right ear that dramatically improved my hearing. I went back to Dr Smullen for the same proceedure on my left ear. Unfortunately, my hearing went from poor to hearing nothing at all from my left ear after the surgery. Now I have to see another ENT to fix his last surgery. read more

Very unorganized and unprofessional in scheduling. Even though Dr. Wexler and receptionist were kind, the waiting room was too small for the amount of people booked. They had 1 person running hearing test and only 2 docter. We waited an hour for a hearing test and another hour for us to even meet the doctor. Before we met the doctor we were put in what looked like a storage closet. Office was run very poorly. Closed at 4:20 but still had a packed waiting room at 5:00pm when we finally were able to leave. Needs a new Office Manager or something. I'll will not be returning. read more

Richard M. Herman, M.D. was the "doctor" I saw at this practice. I scheduled about two weeks before seeing him, so it was not a last minute appointment. He seemed rushed and very uninterested in my situation. He redid tests another practice had just done, even though I clearly told him the tests had just been done and offered him the printed results. He spent very little time with me, offered me no information other than to start a prescription and come back if it didn't work. It was as though he was just guessing. He was the worst "doctor", and I am using that term very loosely in this case, I have ever seen. I felt like I was there for him to generate billable hours and charge my insurance for tests. He never made me feel welcome, or as though he had any concern for my well-being. Avoid Dr. Herman if you want to feel as though your doctor cares about you as a person. read more

It's too bad that, at the time of writing this review, there's only one review of this practice, and it's a nasty one. This person clearly has an ax to grind. Let me change all this. The doctors at this practice are outstanding. I was seen by Drs. Herman, Mass, and Wexler. All clearly competent and understanding doctors. One down note: the waiting rooms in both locations of Lansdale and Doylestown are tiny. Could use a new location, but keep the doctors. read more

I wanted to get an allergy test and my nostrils looked at. When I called the receptionist, she told me they did allergy testing there. The doctor looked at my nostrils with an endoscope and told me he saw nothing wrong. As he was about to leave, I was confused and asked about the allergy test. He informed me that they actually DIDN'T do allergy testing. I was mildly annoyed that they could only do half of what I wanted but that wouldn't warrant a bad Yelp review. No, the real kicker was when weeks later I got a bill for $378 of which I had to pay $185.27. Not once did the doctor or receptionist inform me that this was an additional charge beyond my copay. Poor communication overall and ridiculous upcharges on a short non-surgical nasal endoscopy. read more

Had septoplasty and turbinate reduction done in 2014 by Dr. Herman. Absolute worst mistake of my life. I can't sleep on my left side now because there is an obstruction caused by the surgery in my right nostril. My advice in the suburbs is to AVOID all of these "doctors". They don't know what they're doing. Go into Philly, as much of an inconvenience that may be. I can't believe I had to pay someone to screw up my breathing. Pathetic. read more

Horrible. 4 weeks , 3 antibiotics, steroids , scopes of my nose and just said take this and call if you don't feel better. Messages aren't communicated correctly. The meds are missing in chart and they have no idea what they gave you. Brittany the nurse is rude and doesn't care. Took a different route. Will never go back. read more

Talk about unprofessional and conniving! I called and spoke to a rep there a few weeks back, asking for help, explaining that I needed a hearing aid, and was desperate to get in there before the year ended so that my insurance would cover it and without me having to worry about an expensive deductible. I gave her my info including my insurance plan and she squeezed me in for an appointment. Two days before my appointment, I called re: forms to fill out and, while talking to a different rep, was told "Oh, we don't work with insurance" and that I would have to pay out of pocket for hearing aids which can cost three grand apiece. Outrageous. If the previous rep - who KNEW my info and needs - had told me this I would've just found another doctor who does accept insurance. But now I have no time. None. Thanks for screwing me, Dr. Herman and Dr Smullen and staff. Your staff's lack of knowledge and/or professionalism has now prevented me from getting the hearing aids I desperately need for the foreseeable future. Shame on you for not being more customer service oriented during these trying times. Your staff member either didn't know how to do her job or tried roping me in, figuring I'd get nailed to pay cash. I'm sure not going through Aetna benefits you better, but you screwed me over nicely. The negative reviews make sense now.
