I have been a couple of times and had the lamb burger (excellent) and a special greek poutine (Gyro fixings on fries) which was really good, should go on their standard menu. I've also had their fresh pretzels also great. They happen to be parked outside of a micro brewery, not an accident i'm sure. So if you want a cold beer with your meal its only steps away. Best in Stittsville in my opinion.

Many times, I really need say, cilantro and jalapeños and they are out. So.. I end up having to make another trip elsewhere. The mushrooms which are a staple at my place are hit and miss re quality. I like that they have some PC stuff. I buy chicken breasts here sometimes... not great prices re meat but I find this store great for pet food, canned goods, pasta etc. Not many checkouts open, ever. I use self serve and I like it although that weight scale can be finicky! I bring my own basket. In and out.

I don't eat them but I homemake my dog's food and use them for her. They are farm local for just under $6. Love local. I also buy garlic powder and sea salt in bulk. No wasted containers this way and it's cheaper. Browsing the food areas are neat for those harder to find items. I always go in to browse and come out $40 in the hole. Thank God I don't have dietary restrictions (my middle name is carb!) Or else I'd be buying so much more from here.

The shop made me think of my sister, who has specific dietary needs. While I was thinking of her, wandering the aisles, she called me! How's that for perfect timing? I think she'd love it here, and will have to bear this in mind for next time she travels this way. They offer a number of glutten free items, which even I wouldn't mind trying, like breads. These are just different that what you can buy ready made, or what you can usually make at home (out of regular wheat ingredients).

Big D's was present for the military family appreciation day…read more I got the junkyard poutine and a Diet Coke which came to $11. The poutine has gravy, curds, bacon, beans and cheddar cheese. The portion is quite large and was more than I could finish on my own. There was a good amount of cheese and other options as well! I wasn't a huge fan of the gravy as it was very thin and not overly flavourful, also the bacon was quite hard and chewy, as though it had been pre-cooked and sitting out for a while! Not life-changing but good for some quick comfort food!

Also, I enjoy their wine area, the workers in that section and the wine selection. I discovered a XO mango habanero bottle of white that I really like for $12. Now, I'm onto their XO pinot for wintertime and steak pairing. Yum. I always buy candles in the home section. 3 wick. Parking is never a real issue but this is a busy place. Thankfully, they have self check outs so I can breeze in and out as I never buy too much at a time.

You are greeted at the entry by the sushi counter, where I have occasionally seen someone making fresh sushi. There's a refrigerated display case right at this entrance where they entice you with fruit and veggie platters, and some ready made salads to go. I really like that grocery stores do that now! It's usually cheaper and quicker than getting take out. They also have a flower shop, and a small selection of clothing. This is one chain of stores that offers a coffee grinder, so you can get fresh ground coffee here (note: the machine was broken on the weekend of October 27-28 2018; I sincerely hope they will be able to fix it soon!) This IGA is one of the larger grocery stores we go to. It's central and convenient, and we usually go here every week.
