No one informed me that the appointment that was originally set up for me had changed. In fact, I was told that the Thursday appointment did not show on your records. When a patient has pain most of the time, it isn't easy to prepare for any kind of appointment. Now I must repeat my trip to your office again on Monday, April 4th in order to see the doctor. There seems to a disconnect between the procedure for setting up a new patient's appointments and the personnel and computer records in the office. I respectively ask that someone review the situation and make appropriate adjustments where needed. Otherwise, it has been a pleasant experience to visit your office and I do look forward to my physical issues being resolved by the very capable staff and doctors in your practice.

ORTHO AFTER HOURS on the 2nd floor of the UF Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Institute (OSMI) is a…read morenice addition to the area. With at least one doctor, one physician's assistant (PA), one nurse, one x-ray technician, & one receptionist on duty, sprains, strains, & minor broken bones can be treated. X-rays are performed quickly. No appointment is necessary here, but pre-registration is recommended. Your wait is dependent upon how many arrived before you. I've been here twice in one week for two separate breaks. My midweek visit was approximately 2.5 hours (after waiting on the PA and then the doctor); however, I was in and out w/in one hour two nights later. Doctors and PA's rotate. (For example, one night a hand surgeon was on staff; the next night it was a knee doctor.) If you have a break, a cast can be made; however, the hand therapy & physical therapy centers are not open. Splints cannot be made & major breaks cannot be treated. However, the only real downer I experienced over both visits is the unnecessary wait for the doctor to walk into the room (for a few minutes stay) after the qualified PA had done all the work. It was time consuming & a wasteful formality; the wait for the doctor should be optional (aka patient's choice) since PA's are more than qualified. Follow-up appointments w/ doctors during regular business hours can be made upon checkout. Parking is free. After 6 PM the parking attendants are off duty so there is no valet parking. (If it's an MRI or CAT scan you need, appointments are required. The radiology area closes at 10 PM & is on the first floor of the building. See pics.)

Smiling friendly faces thru out the office and staff. Dr Vincent is what ALL doctors should be - he listens and takes his time to get to know what is going on and talks to you as a patient to see where and how he can help you - Me and my daughter could never say enough awesome things about this doctor. My daughter is terrified of doctors and for 21 years has never felt comfortable speaking to a doctor to explain her issue that she is having - Dr Kevin Vincent she talks to and he was able to help her get moving in the right direction. This says ALOT for a doctor that can relate and work with a terrified patient that usually is having a panic attack by just walking in a doctors office. The comfort starts at the lobby and carries it way all the way thru to the Doctor. If we had more offices like this the world would be a better place. The Orthopedic Institute (and physical therapy center) in Alachua is a blessing to those of us in…read morethis city and surrounding areas. Rather than having to drive to their main location on Newberry Road in Gainesville, we have physicians as well as a complete physical therapy center right here in Alachua. My review today is about the physical therapy center. I have been to the Center for various things dating back to 2013. Chris, the physical therapist, meets with you during your first visit to do an intake assessment. He has a wonderful and caring personality and talks with you to learn more about your injury and your needs. He also discusses your goals to see where you want to be. After doing his assessment he develops a physical therapy plan for you and you typically start your treatment that day (at least I have). My treatment plan usually requires coming to the office twice a week. When you enter, you sign in and then one of the physical therapy assistants will get you started. I won't discuss specific treatment plans because everyone is different but I will say that the office is not overly crowded, you do get personalized attention, and it is a fun atmosphere. I enjoy talking with the staff as well as the other clients. So, if you are ever in need of physical therapy, I suggest you give the Alachua center of the orthopedic institute a try. They can get you on the track to good health and help you meet or exceed your goals.

And he gets 5 stars for that, too. So got in with him. The infection, from a teensy and sanitized healed over nick, had caused swelling and soreness into my hand. In 2018, I had a very successful knee replacement at the Gainesville location, receiving both surgery and Physical Therapy for pre-hab and re-hab training there. Now, in 2026, I am returning for a hip replacement, and am very pleased that TOI has remodeled its intake protocols so that, in my experience, there is little to no waiting (!) -- in the front office, for radiology studies, for face-to-face with providers, and for PT/OT visits. There seems to be a fresh sense of well-being and contentment among the staff and providers, a feeling of smoother and more efficient management of people and time. Additionally, TOI has opened a walk-in Ortho Emergency clinic on site.
