I didn't expect much. We were seated in a cramped little table in an awkward basement location. My daughter picked this for our evening dinner so I didn't want to make her feel bad about her selection. Fast forward 10 minutes and we are served what may have been the best Carbonara I have ever enjoyed in my long and miserable life. No cream, no peas, just fresh eggs, crisp bacon and cheese. For your sake, just order it. Now. Then, I was served Sagne Ricce alla Bolognese. This dish consists of an irregular shaped pasta served in an amazing Beef Ragu. I was in pasta heaven. The service was friendly and efficient, the prices (considering the top quality) were very reasonable. This doesn't look like too much when you first see it. I walked in here while solo traveling when my phone died and I had no idea how to get back to where I was staying that night. I asked the owner if they had a charger, and she was so incredibly kind about saying that I didn't need to order anything, and that they could take care of me. The vibes of the staff were amazing, I even caught them dancing in the kitchen. I came back the next morning to try the food, and got the carbonara. I'm typically not a fan of Italian food, but this dish was so rich that I have been converted. A new manager was in store, and he had the kindest, most supportive service as well. Left here crying my second time, and the experience here ruined my last half day in London. Service: My fiancé had stopped in for late breakfast after a work function, and I ran over to meet him. We were in a rush as we had to depart the UK by plane midday. Without realizing it, I had a coffee from the hotel in my hand - it was a mistake, but I had a terrible headache and was rushing around. A man who worked there (might be the manager/owner) stomped over and very aggressively and rudely asked me to *please leave* or throw out the coffee, and talked to me as if I was a child who had committed an unforgivable crime. I've never seen someone appear so angry over a coffee. It was as if he was letting out pent up anger on me. And this was while I was in the middle of deciding what to order. His treatment was so jarring to my nerves when I was already frazzled and had a headache from working late nights, that I decided to leave and started crying. Mind you, this is after I had ordered 2 full pasta dishes plus a side for just myself, alone, 2 nights before, and this same man was the person I paid that previous evening. The only reason my fiancé was even there that morning was because I had raved about this restaurant. Plus their place was empty and so it was not as if I had taken a seat from someone else. If anything, I was about to make a large order to load up prior to the flight. All this is to say, I respected this place, had spent money here, and had helped to bring in more business. And having the coffee in my hand could have been fixed with just a *kind and friendly* alert that it was not appropriate or allowed. Rather than such aggressive, unkind, and rude behavior. Downstairs is super cute, everything is decorated adorably. Service was fast and friendly. This is a small cozy place, so not hard to get someone's attention if you need anything. Great beverage choices (they have ice, if that's important to you!). Everything was fresh, plating was beautiful, and they clearly care about where the ingredients they use come from. We ordered an Eggs Benedict and an Omelette - both were delicious! They are open to alterations, too, so don't be afraid to ask. Prices were great for the quality. Real Italians working there, so you can speak Italian with them, if you want! This is a great spot to make your way to if you are staying anywhere in Russel Square/King's Cross. Such a respite from the busy life outside. I'd gladly come back again and again until I've tried their whole menu. This is a very cute italian place just up the street from where we're staying. Smelled absolutely wonderful just walking up to this restaurant. The seating is a warm golden wood that blends in well with the bronze-gold accents of the bar area. As mentioned the staff here is very Italian, which lends itself well to the food here. I got the daily special after much deliberating over the many delicous menu options. The pasta had a nice bite, the spicy sauce complemented it perfectly. Offset with contrast of the sprouts and dollops of fresh ricotta. My fellow travelers got the bologonese and a tomato eggplant stew which were equally delicous. The carbonara pasta and the tiramisu were both delicious. We were seated in the basement, which has nice decor but got very loud, making it hard to have a conversation. That's my biggest gripe. But let me tell you, I don't get this back in the US... For starters we had the Polenta with goat cheese (so good). Mmmm a little piece of Italy right here in Bloomsbury. This is not the typical London Italian eatery with pizza and bolognese. This is the real deal. It's "cozy" and on a summer evening, quite warm inside, but the service is fast and the spritzes perfectly mixed. We shared some bruschetta then ordered a couple of pasta plates as our mains, fully intending to share between us. We had the Sausage Tortelloni and the Spaghetti Carbonara. Wow the sauces were rich and delicious. Glad we'd booked a table online because the place was full to bursting the whole time... and so were we when we made the short walk back to our flat. We arrived in London last night after a long flight. We needed a good americano and some breakfast and searched and found Casa Tua. Man, am I glad we did! Tasty coffee, and the best, freshest poached eggs I've ever had. They were dark orange in color! On top of a delicious piece of toast, seasoned perfectly and topped with just the right amount of amazing hollandaise. My Campari spritz was a treat! My husband had the best omelette he's ever had too. I wish I could try everything on the brunch menu but we are leaving this area tomorrow. You won't be disappointed. read more

We're staying just a block away and have been enjoying going in everyday for cappuccino, prosecco, snacks, and excellent free wifi. Free and good wifi is not a taken for granted thing in the states, and it is much appreciated. What's also appreciated is the excellent service with a big smile. I've noticed this cafe has many regulars. Last night as I chilled on the sidewalk with my prosecco, the manager waved to many people who passed by and said hello to customers by name as they came in the door. We are loving being so close, it's a little slice of heaven on our very busy holiday. read more
