We hired Otto's Moving and Storage to move us from our 4 story house in Arlington that we had lived in for 32 years into a two story condo unit in Waltham. Otto sent 2 employees out to our house to give us a free (and comprehensive) estimate and they gave us 2 very reasonable moving quotes (one with packing up the house and one without them doing the packing). We chose the estimate without Otto's doing the packing. Otto told us, quite reasonably, that the move would take 2 full days, given the amount of boxes and furniture that we had. In the end, Otto did not charge us any more than the original reasonable estimate that he gave us. When moving day arrived, 2 of Otto's employees arrived on time and did a fabulous job loading up their very large truck. They were very hard workers and were pleasant, polite and extremely helpful throughout the process. They were careful of our belongings and listened to all of our concerns. Nothing was damaged or broken in our 2 day move and the guys worked 10 - 11 hours both days. The move was done smoothly, efficiently, and as stress-free as a move could be. Use these guys! For my big move, this company was recommended to me by a friend and now I understand why. My team of 3 movers arrived right on time and had all my belongings on the truck and ready to go in under three hours. That was amazing considering I was still in the midst of packing things up. Otto's Moving is the BEST moving company! They are a local company who are willing to work with customers allowing flexibility and options. They helped my family efficiently move into our apartment several years ago in Boston with a POD. We recently used them to move out of Boston halfway across the country and they took care of every detail. They were timely, kind and worked harder than any mover I have worked with before. I wrote a previous review for this company since I had a great experience, and I booked with them again this year (2018) over 4 months in advance for my September 1st move (including a truck and two movers). I received a call THE DAY BEFORE (on 8/31) I was supposed to move and they cancelled on me. No back up plan, couldn't offer me even just the labor and no truck. Nothing. They completely screwed me over and I had to scramble and beg friends and family to come help me last minute since I had to still move out on that day. It was such a miserable and stressful experience; I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. read more

I called Otto's moving in last minute for a local move. Otto explained everything over the phone, he gave me the best rate out of all other moving companies. The 2 guys showed up on time in uniform mask and gloves, they were able to park the 26 foot truck im a tight space on the Beacon Hill, loaded in 2.5 hours from the third and fourth floor, wraped all my furniture, running with the boxes. At the destination they empty the truck in 1 hour, everything went perfect, no damages, polite guys, hardworkers, on time. Only good things to say about Otto's. I recommend to everybody. PODS originally referred me to these guys. I used these guys 3 times in a span of just over year. Once for unloading the pod at my apartment, once for when I was moving out of said apartment (it also involved packing the stuff), and finally for unloading the storage and loading the pod. All three times involved the same two guys - Gabriel and Louise. Both were excellent. They were professional, timely, fast and methodical. Otto - the business owner was very courteous and accommodating of my requests, even on very short notice. Would heavily recommend Otto's to anyone with moving needs in the Boston area. read more

Otto and his team are absolutely exceptional. They are quick, efficient, respectful and helpful. They were able to fit me in on my requested day with less than a month's notice. They even remembered me from a previous move with them! All of my belongings were handled with such care and they even offered to carry things that I did not specify in my request. They also disassembled and reassembled my furniture without me even needing to ask! If I could give them more stars I would. We have used Otto Movers many times and they have been awesome. They have been on time, and the crew works hard and quickly. I was impressed with the quality and the low amount of hours it took to handle the entire move. My Son moved from Saugus to Swampscott and was planning to move himself with his friends helping him, but I talked him out of that and I told him Otto would be the company to use and he is very happy that he did. 6 months later his landlord sold the home and he needed to move again. Boxes and furniture had been stored with Otto. They were then returned to our address. Since, last week, the items have been located. They were not, as thought, in a storage box. Phenomenal Moving service. Having movers was definitely a luxury for my husband & I. We were nervous that we would be essentially throwing away a large sum of money and causing ourselves more stress. There was nothing to be nervous about. They showed up on time, were able to maneuver their truck on a wicked busy street and into our cramped driveway. I've never had a better moving experience than when I used Otto's. The team was very communicative about the process ahead of time, shared a detailed explanation of costs, moved everything out and in quickly, made sure everything was secure and delivered without damage (including several delicate plants!), and were really warm and friendly, even after a long overnight drive.
