Once we got to my new place they even put all the drawers back in their designated spots. They help unwrap and set up my tv and other large electronics. We asked the majority of the items go in our large (fully empty) basement. We should have inspected the work before paying but with the exhaustion of the move we did not think to. We were so upset to see how our belongings were just tossed about, heavy bins put on boxes that were starting to buckle under the weight, fragile items throw on top of piles of boxes, everything was clustered to one area so it's challenging to access while the rest of the basement as well as several shelving units remained empty. They also quoted one price and ended up charging more than the estimate as they begin billing their day from when they leave their house, not when they arrive to your location for the move. I reached out in writing to express my concerns and have yet to hear back. DO NOT USE THEM. Im certain some of our items are now damaged, in addition to how much more work we now face going through the absolute mess they made.

This all changed when Alex and his team helped us move our of a storage unit and into our new apartment. Immediately, they seemed much more friendly and trustworthy than the other service providers I had recently worked with, and their quality of work was outstanding. They were particularly helpful managing to find a way to get our Texas-sized furniture up three floors to our tiny New England apartment. Before I knew it, they were hoisting our larger pieces up the side of the building. Of course, beforehand, they made absolutely sure that our things were properly protected and that our balcony would support the operation. They were also helpful in advising what to do with our over-sized couch, which could not fit up the stairwell nor be hoisted. I would highly recommend their service. I've already used them again!

One had a mask around his neck, and the rest of the two movers didn't have them. When I informed them politely that Cambridge has a law that requires you to wear face masks in public places, such as the apartment building lobby they were standing in, all three pulled out masks from their pockets. I said great, please put them on. They did and walked to the elevator, then took them off. WTF? I say nothing, and when we got to our apartment on the ninth floor, I asked them again to put them on, this time a little annoyed since they don't seem to be taking this seriously at all. They said they can't put them on since moving is cardio-intensive and putting on a mask will hinder their work. Well, excuse me, there's a f**king pandemic going on and they are refusing to wear a mask inside my home? I had no other choice but to turn a blind eye since we were leaving from Boston to California that day and we had no other choice. The "quality assurance" guy reached out to me when we got to California and I informed him about my displeasure on the mask situation, and then I NEVER heard back from him, until I told him I was going to write this review. He called and said "they did not want to be defamed on the internet". lol. My pet food storage box, trash can, and some small items had dents when they got here, so I won't comment on the moving services. But please don't consider Long Distance Movers, please, for your OWN HEALTH'S SAKE.
