Visited the pop up on the Christmas Walk in Union Square with my family and everyone loved the flavors they got! I tried the lavender one and it was light and a little crispy just how a macaron should be. We got the 6 piece box for $12 and we're NOT disappointed at all. Oui Oui is the latest addition to the local trend of macaron vendors (Paulette, L'Artisan, Christopher David, Miette, plus every French bakery and pastry shop in town). Worth mentioning that the macarons from popular Paulette are the only ones not made in SF, their factory is in SoCal. I'm happy to patronize local vendors like this one, rather than retail shops from out of town. These macarons are really well made, cute, delicate, crisp outer layer, and nice cream filling. Flavor is okay. In comparison, industrialized-Paulette has more variety, Miette is creamier, and Christopher David has sharper flavors. I tried 5 flavors ($1 each): chocolate peppermint, espresso, raspberry, lemon, and almond blueberry (w/almond bits on top). http://media4.px.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/QDOw_Q63-VUwElTBTObxBA/l They were giving one free when u buy 6, so I decided to get that offer. One of the chocolate macarons I got was crushed on one side (a center hole, size of a thumb). Not very nice to give me the damaged one. :( Get updates via Twitter.

Decent macaron. Nice aroma and flavor Texture are delicate and airy which is nice My favorite flavor are lychee, and black sesame. Some recommendations, Salted caramel, has to be a little bit more salty and spread/ sprinkle salt more evenly. Rose, I don't sense the aroma nor taste the rose. Simply too sweet. I have rose tea all the time, I know how rose taste. This can be improved.

I got the mint chocolate chip macaroon ice cream sandwich. Personally I think the texture of the macaroon is too sticky and too sweet compare to the other places I've tried. Though the combination with the ice cream is really good. I would recommended to eat it there because it will be somehow messy. Overall, great experience and great service. $4 for a large scoop of ice cream and macaroon shell was reasonable. I would like to to try other items in the future.

Grey sea salt caramel - yum!

Grey sea salt caramel - yum! not usually a fan of savory & sweet together but the sea salt here just REALLY worked. The macarons are huge and have a perfect slight crunch, soft inside, and great for sharing.

Oui Oui Macarons. Thai Tea, Chocolate, Vanilla, Blueberry, Rose, and Peppermint Candy.

We came for a factory tour, about an hour long. It was fascinating and educational to learn about the craft of chocolates from fruit to beans to the chocolate bar, and to get to chocolate taste along the way. Their work is inspiring-adding minimal ingredients to their chocolate bars so that the flavors of the cacao beans shine naturally from where they originate. After the tour, we tried the hojicha hot chocolate, the celebration cake, and the matcha cookie. For the hojicha hot chocolate, the tea flavor was subtle, but good chocolate. The celebration cake was what we expected-glad it wasn't overly sweet so that cocoa is more pronounced, but it also wasn't too rich; I felt the chocolate here in some sense lacked depth. The matcha cookie was my favorite-a cake texture matcha exterior encasing a denser brownie-like chocolate core - a delicious combo! Last thoughts to prep for the experience if you tour- 1.) Eat before you go on the tour-sampling chocolate means you do get caffeinated, and you'll likely purchase more chocolate (more caffeine!) after :) 2.) Included with the tour is a complimentary chocolate drink of choice at the end, in case you were pondering whether to buy the hot chocolate or not ;) 3.) Dandelion Chocolate products are pricey but quality. Paying the price feels like it's appreciation of their art. If you love chocolate, it's a wonderful place to visit at least once!
