These are truly mini, one to two bites at most. The pile of frosting on each one is seriously the same volume as the cake part below it, truly the ideal proportion of frosting to cake! Besides appearing adorable the freshness is obvious, the cake is moist and the frosting smooth and creamy. They say it's buttercream but there is something special about the frosting I can't put my finger on.... It's not your average grocery store buttercream that's for sure. Perhaps just a touch of cream cheese? I am going to have to eat several more to figure it out. I so far I have only tried vanilla, chocolate, and horchata which is their signature flavor. I got a dozen Mission Minis cupcakes from TGTG, and boy, these were absolute delicious. I got 5 chocolate and 7 vanilla cupcakes and they were so good! I went at the end of the day, and they were sold out of the lemon, so I will be back for the lemon cupcakes. it's a cute little shop, and if you are wanting cupcakes that are ideal for a tea party this could be a great option. My order though was via Too Good To Go, so I was able to skirt the normal retail price of $18 for a dozen. As for the sweets, the cake was good but the frosting had a meringue quality to it. Called ahead to reserve some cupcakes prior to pick up as I worried they'd be sold out before I got there. The person over the phone was nice, but when I asked if there was a discount for a dozen vs. ordering any number, they claimed there wasn't. Lo and behold, I show up and there's a sign that says there is? I guess that's the price I pay for reserving ahead of time. The cupcakes are about 1.5$-2$ each, and they're really mini, moreso than you'd expect from a store called Mission Minis (about a size of a half dollar coin.) Each are really sweet which I guess in a small cupcake it's not that noticeable unless you eat another one - I got an assortment of the vanilla, cinnamon, blueberry, double chocolate, and red velvet. They were good but not memorable. My biggest gripe about this place is the packaging uses those simple pink boxes that doesn't hold any of the mini cupcakes in place, so they shift around and get messed up in transit. read more
