This has been the worst experience with a bus company that I have ever had. First my trip from NY- Bridgeport was rescheduled to an earlier time and I got a text notification an hour prior to the departure. I had to cancel it because I wasn't going to make it on time. I told them to cancel the return also on 11/26 because I won't be going anymore and was told it was cancelled (never got an email confirmation) but that the money will go back to a wallet because they aren't able to refund it since I used credits to purchase that ticket. I told them my original purchase for 11/26 was screwed up to begin with which led to me having to reschedule that also! I was told after the second phone call that the trip is indeed cancelled and that a ticket was opened to see if they can refund the return ticket. I never got a call back for an update, I never got a cancellation email as I was told and I still get text notifications if I got on the bus today. I highly doubt the trip cancelled and I TRULY doubt that I will ever get that refund back, not even a credit. Every time I spoke to someone over the phone it sounded like a bunch of bullshit and I was just told what I wanted to hear to get me off the phone and when I chatted with someone it sounded like they were following a script. I'm over this company and I will NEVER book again. My family and I travel so much between NY and Connecticut and I will make sure I don't ever suggest this company to ANYONE. Hop on and find your way to comfy cloth seats with good leg room from the next row. O and before you hop on, you can grab complimentary water (I grabbed two because I was thirsty). I rented a Pary Bus for 35 from Rally Our Bus. The day of the event they did NOT SHOW UP, and did not call to say they would not be coming. They never answered why they did not show. We are currently stranded in a broken down bus on the side of the New Jersey turnpike. The date is Sunday November 12th, our trip took off at 3pm from NYC to DC and we have been broken down for over an hour now. No information has been given from the driver except he showed us a belt that came off the bus and said the bus was broken. No information is being given on if a bus is going to pick us up or how much longer this can take. This is ridiculous. I'm never riding on Ourbus again. Update: the police are here. We have been stranded for two hours. There is still no other bus coming. Second update: What was supposed to be a 4 hour bus ride turned into a 10 hour ordeal. Worst decision of my life was booking with Ourbus. We got towed to a mechanic shop and then were told the bus couldn't be repaired and at that point we were on our own in a small town in the middle of nowhere in New Jersey. Greetings It pains me to write this because they used to be a stellar service and a business that I wanted to support. However, something has clearly changed for the worst. A bathroom with no tissue or sanitizer. Additionally,  there was no wifi and no advanced warning or announcement of that fact. I'm a business traveler and this caused a MAJOR problem. On top of all that there was no traffic and we were still late and I missed my connectiing train. I'm on the bus as we speak. All I ask a company to do is what they say they're going to do. Lack of transparency in refund process. Hassle-filled experience. Upon cancelling a ticket, my funds went into the website's "OurBus Wallet" which we can use on future trips. The refund policy in the FAQ section of the website stated "If you purchased your ticket directly from the OurBus website/app and are canceling more than 24 hours before the departure time, you'll also have the option to get a full refund." My refund request was well within this window period. What should have been a seamless no-hassle refund process, I instead had to go through a continuous back and forth with multiple representatives before finally getting the credit back to TRANSFER TO PAYPAL rather than sending directly to my bank/credit card. This took a month to do. There are other conversations that I forgot to take screenshots, but it was a constant back-and-forth in reminding me I can use the credit for future travels. The lack of comprehension was one thing, but the delay afterwards was of extreme annoyance. It didn't take 24 hours to process, but a bit under an entire month to give me the credit to then only transfer to paypal. This is a warning to prospective customers. OurBus, I hope you read this and make the proper organizational changes in your operating procedures. If you're going to offer full refunds, don't create deterrents and unexplained delays to your customers. read more

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS COMPANY. I reserved two motorcoaches in January of 2024 for my wedding in August 2024. I signed the contract and sent in the deposit payment all on time per the contract. I received multiple confirmation emails about my trip. My wedding venue reached out to Ourbus a couple of weeks before the wedding asking for their insurance. The company sent it over with no issue. Two nights before my wedding, I emailed Ourbus asking for the names of the drivers so my husband and I could write checks to them for tips. I did not receive an email back. On the Friday before my wedding, (less than 24 hours before our reservation) I received two phone calls back to back that said potential spam so I did not answer. I received a voicemail saying it was Ourbus and to call them back asap regarding my trip for the next day. I immediately called back and spoke with Roger who said he had a question about the buses at 1:30. I told him we did not have buses at 1:30 and per our contract we had two buses at 3:30. He then said okay I have to check something and I will call you back in 15 minutes. He was acting very strange and I kept asking him what was going on. He couldn't give me any answer. I waited 20 minutes with no phone call, so I called back and was told one of the buses broke down so they only had one 55 passenger bus to send me. I told Roger he needed to find another bus to replace this broken bus with. He said they had already called other places and could not find one. My husband started calling other places to try to find another bus last minute and got in touch with Bedore. They said they had our reservation from January through Ourbus, but Ourbus never sent our payment through to them. Bedore tried reaching them multiple times to send payment and were unsuccessful. They then had to cancel our buses. We never received any message about sending payment other than the initial deposit which was sent and then the remaining balance which was paid 2 days early to the due date. I then called Ourbus after learning they never sent our payment and lied about a bus being broken. I told them they needed to find another bus per our contract seeing as they messed up the reservation. Roger continued to say he couldn't find anything and they could give us a partial refund. In the meantime we ended up finding a life saving company last minute to provide us with transportation for our wedding the next day. I told Roger we would be canceling the bus he said he had because I didn't trust anything he said anymore. Ourbus did give us a full refund, but they caused a lot of stress and problems only giving us one day notice that they did not have our buses. Do NOT recommend booking with Ourbus. Absolutely awful experience. read more

I was bit by bed bugs on an Our Bus bus traveling from Ithaca to Binghamton to New York City on August 19th. I had all these bites -- they were in rows and clusters the way bed bugs bite -- on my legs after taking the bus. After that, I had to call exterminators to inspect my space, launder and bag all my belongings and vacuum regularly. Basically, it took me weeks to deal with and wrecked all my plans. Prior to this, I was taking Our Bus several times a year since it's one of the few bus options for this route. But I won't be taking Our Bus ever again. I told customer service about the issue and they won't give me a refund for my return trip. read more

I booked a trip with OurBus through Wanderu. The location was listed as Hudson Yards, but without any specific details. No e-ticket was sent. I tried to contact the company, but there was no response until after the bus had already left. Then, 25 minutes after the bus departed, they finally sent me an email with the ticket. They refused to refund my money, even as store credit. This seems like a scam company to me, and I will not use their services again. I highly do not recommend them, especially since there are so many companies that help you right away. I very rarely write one-star reviews, but this situation definitely warrants it. read more

Terrible experience and customer service! It's crazy that the bus hit another car on the highway! It was still stuck on the highway an hour after the time it was supposed to arrive. I had to call a Lyft to get to my destination on time, and OurBus customer service refused to reimburse for that. They sent a coupon with a max discount $20 which doesn't cover half of Lyft expenses. I booked a bus between NYC and Syracuse for an interview. Because tickets got more expensive the longer you wait, I booked a round trip because I did not know the circumstances of my return trip. I ended up carpooling with friends home and had to cancel the return trip. Unfortunately you can't get a refund, only credit toward future trips. The lack of flexibility is a little annoying but it is clearly stated on their site. The trip to Syracuse itself was ok. The bus did not have working outlets. The wifi wasn't very good as I couldn't even check my email. The announcements were sometimes difficult to hear. However I decided not to work on my devices and slept most of the way there. Given the fact it is affordable and I didn't have any major issues with my trip, I would book Ourbus again. It may not be my first choice as I would like the prices to not vary based on when I book the tickets (then I would book it right before the trip, not worry about the tickets being $5 more expensive, and not care about the refund policy). read more

I had a trip yesterday which was supposed to leave at 4:15 pm and arrive in nyc by 8:15 pm. I was a bit disappointed as there were delays and confusion. First it seemed like there were not enough seats. The driver got into an argument with 2 passengers who booked from another site but eventually the driver let these 2 passengers fit on the bus and the situation was resolved. Unfortunately we did not leave until 4:45-4:55 ish. The driver then mentioned we would be switching drivers mid route, which we did. We arrived in nyc by 9:20 pm... over an hour delayed. I understand that these things happen but another confusing point was that the driver was not announcing the delays so it was unclear to me what time approximately we would be reaching. I can't speak on if this was an isolated experience or the norm, but for me, even though I liked the free water and the outlet etc, it was not a reliable ride. I think I will be sticking to an Amtrak train instead so as to be sure I am able to leave and arrive on time! When I tried to call the company to talk to them about the issue, it seemed like the company disconnected multiple times. When I tried to chat with a bot, there was no response. If the customer service is only available at specific hours or times of day, it would be helpful if the online chat bot, the telephone call message, or the faq section, clearly outlined those hours so as to avoid confusion. I also found it weird that the faq had 64 questions but how to reach customer service was #32... they also deliberately never addressed a policy about delays. It made me feel like the company is trying to skirt the issue or beat around the bush. I prefer a company that is more transparent in terms of clear next steps in the policy when it comes to delays! read more

(Only issues is none of the rides had Wi-Fi n on the ride back the power outlets weren't working) I would definitely recommend this company n us them again in the future read more

I bought a ticket from Quincy to NYC with no indication that the bus would go north to Boston. I wrote then spoke to customer service. They just said sorry. They weren't willing to do anything about the inconvenience Or the actual bate and switch. They claim it was stated on purchase. I went back and looked ..it was not. Therefore, adding in extra traffic which they are not responsible for, it took 7 hours. Last time it was 3 1/2. Also, there was no wifi or outlets. read more

After reading negative reviews I still went ahead and took a chance with this shameless company. I attempted to cancel my ticket from NYC to Washington DC way ahead of the 60 minute deadline. Upon logging into their site, I informed the chat that I would be cancelling. The chat responded by asking me multiple times if I was certain I would be cancelling. After I responded with "yes," the chat sent me the tailored amount of my refund (minus the fees). I thought the process was completed. When I didn't receive written confirmation of my cancellation via email, I communicated with the chat again and this time a live person took over and informed me that I was not eligible for a refund or even a credit, because I missed the time deadline to cancel and I did not follow the steps to cancel. So even though the chat provided me with a refund amount and did not provide any further clear instructions, I the customer must take full blame and lose $51. The company doesn't have enough courtesy to provide at least a credit for a future ride. This company is desperate. I WILL NEVER USE THEIR SERVICES EVER AGAIN IN LIFE. read more

Scariest bus ride, EVER. There is sleet, snow, icy roads and driver is speeding (70mph in 55mph zone) under these very hazardous road conditions from DC TO NYC. Nice price but not worth the risk. Our Bus contracted with Chariots for Hire bus & driver for this trip. THE DRIVER The Chariots For Hire driver is texting while driving. He is not keeping eyes on road. And there is alot of swerving & tailgating. Reported this unsafe, risky driving to customer service & I think they called him. But he just kept chatting, speeding & tailgating. THE BUS The frightful driving is in addition to the fact that this bus broke down & had to be towed. So we waited in Columbia Md for an hour before a backup bus arrived. The transistion was smooth. Our Bus is a good price. But, in the future, I'll AVOID the "Chariots For Hire" contractor when possible. read more

Solid 4 for price and mostly pro factors. 1 star deducted due to timing. Good thing I wasn't in a rush but if you are, book at least 2 hrs ahead (ie. if you need to get to your destination by 8, take a bus that drops you off at your destination between 5:30-6 in case you hit traffic or the drivers need to change. Ourbus from NYC to Worcester was packed but I was able to get my own seat. Loved that there is water on board and I could charge my phone. The Wifi wasn't strong - couldnt load most of my browsers (gmail, google searches). The ride took way too long. Bus was about 15 min late to depart (good for anyone who was running late) and i arrived to my destination about 80 min late. Amtrak hasn't been on time the past few times i took it (1 hr late from new haven to NYC!) so i thought a direct bus would be better. PROS - poland spring single water bottles on board - outlet to charge - seats had space between yours and the person in front -super friendly drivers (although 1 had to switch out, he said he couldnt legally drive XX amount of time with over XX people?) - easy onboarding experience - checked bags were separated by destination so it was easy to get after - skilled driving, i could eat my food in peace without it jumping at me read more

Less than 48 hours before the trip I get this message: "Dear Passenger, Due to a schedule change our Miami bus now has different departure time. Our pickups and drop off at the following stops have changed. Tampa, FL - Sarasota, FL - Fort Myers, FL - Fort Lauderdale, FL - Miami Airport, FL Please check our website for revised time. If you would like to reschedule your ticket for a new time, please let us know and we can gladly issue you new tickets. If these times no longer work for you, we can offer a full refund. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes. Thank you again for using OurBus. OurBus Team" I message the company and they literally copy and paste the same message. I had a departing and return bus. They were unable to tell me that BOTH were canceled when speaking to them snd led me to believe that only Sunday was canceled. I get to the station on the departure and it cannot be found. I call them and they yell at me claiming to have sent a message. 15 minutes I receive the email screenshot attached. I call them and the next bus was 9 hours later. And it turns out that my return was not rescheduled on their part either! No apologies, no offer for discount, no explanation, nothing. NEVER AGAIN. In a search for bus tickets to Philly as a weekend bday/ family reunion getaway trip with the family I came across our bus and of course did my review research via yelp and Facebook and fell in love with the reviews. The process of downloading the app and making the account was pretty awesome and I adore the marketing idea for the 10$ referral. I told my friends this is the Uber of buses, such a dope idea must be millennials. Customer Service: 5 stars Bus Driver was very polite and put all of the bags under the bus, he also announced all of the info before taking off. The bus left on time and it was overall good vibes Bathroom: 5 stars The bathroom was one of the best I've ever seen on a bus cleanliness wise, I even sat towards the back and didn't get that stinky bathroom smell Seating: 5 stars The seats were comfy and clean, they reclined and had a good amount of space even to put your bag underneath the seat it fit perfectly. It wasn't super packed and everyone looked very comfortable. The bus smelled nice and clean and had a nice welcoming vibe, a little sad I didn't get my free water lol My only suggestions would be discounted prices for children, loyalty and or reward programs Overall Bus Experience: I enjoyed the entire experience of our bus you guys have gained a keeper! Went on a trip with them to Hartford even after reading some negative reviews. We at least made it but it was the most stressful experience. At 2:00, the bus still had not arrived and we were waiting with about 20 people at the stop. It was not until 20 minutes later that someone walked around and found the confused bus driver a block and a half away because she said the company would not communicate with her about how to get to the stop. She was about to just leave us if we hadn't found her. So we left 30 minutes late, yet we still ended up at our destination somehow 2 hours after the ETA. I know traffic was bad, but that should be factored in so people know what to expect. It was $35 total for two people one way though, so I guess you get what you pay for. read more
