On December 10,2023 I was booked for the 6 pm PANY to Boston bus. However, although the bus was standing at Gate 21, passengers were not allowed to board. The departure time on the app had been changed to 7 pm. I called Our Bus at 6463927565 and the rep told me there had been a sickness on the previous trip, that a passenger had thrown up and so the bus was delayed. I asked the rep how passengers from 6pm and 7 pm would be accommodated, he said that was the company's responsibility. OURBUS emailed: "We regret to tell you that due to an operational reason, your trip has been delayed by 1 hour and will now start at 7:00 PM. ". At 7pm the driver told me the delay was because he had not been able to take his break. On board I counted at least five empty seats at the back. So apparently we were delayed because there were insufficient passengers. I reached Boston close to midnight. I am filing a complaint with the MA DOT about this unfair practice and request an investigation of OurBus practices. Also, as with the Quincy-NYC OurBus I took on December 8, 2023, the electric chargers do not work. The Quincy bus has no heating or internet and the driver is continuously on the phone while driving. Ourbus has bad service! On Saturday, July 16, I was supposed to catch one of your buses to DC, but the bus was not at the location provided when I bought the ticket, at least a bus driver there sent me to a different location. There, too, they sent me to yet another location. Therefore, I missed my bus and had to book a different trip with another company at a different time. It was inconvenient: it cost me time, money, and a missed meeting in DC. I tried to contact Ourbus but there was no way to reach them, and they had no kiosk for information. I reached out to customer service and they would issue a refund. I asked to talk to a manager and they told me that it wouldn't make any difference, that it would only "escalate" the situation. That's not how you talk to a customer. That's just bad service! read more

ride is fine so far, but none of the supposed amenities (outlets, wifi, etc) actually exist. it's a cheap ride, it is what it is, but you shouldn't advertise something if it won't be provided. I booked OurBus from NYC to DC departing at 7:30pm on a Tuesday night. Not impressed. I checked, double checked, and then triple checked via the website chat what the pickup location was. I arrived at the location at 7:09pm and saw a marked OurBus at the pickup location. The driver stated that his bus was going somewhere else and that I didn't need to be there for another 20 minutes. I confirmed for the 4th time that this was the pickup location for the DC bus. He confirmed it was. So I left. When I returned 10 minutes later, the same driver then told me the bus going to DC was a block away and marked "Haymarket." Awesome. I passed that bus the first time I was there. By the time I got on the bus, there was one seat left - right next to the sickest person traveling that night. Perfect. As an added bonus, presumably to keep the bus clean, the driver had placed garbage bags around the handles of the seats on the aisle seats, but only on one side. So, I got to sit next to someone else's stinky, nasty trash for the whole ride. Add to that the cramped seating and I'm just not impressed. The website and booking was easy, but overall, I'm not sure how OurBus has done so well on Yelp. read more

I'm going to leave more than one review for when I take this bus service again just to cross reference. I saw a lot of negative reviews, so I was hesitant but they had the cheapest tickets for my trip from DC to Newark. First, there aren't many transportation services that stop in newark outside of greyhound and Amtrak, so I appreciate that. I arrived at the pickup location at the time of departure so I'm grateful the bus didn't leave without all passengers. Wouldn't expect that, so it's a plus. I don't have much comment on anything else. Even with a couple of stops we arrived in Newark 45 min early! I will never be mad at that. In fact, I got home by the time we were supposed to arrive. The only problem with the arrival was that we were dropped off in a location different than what the app said. Not far, just not the right place so I ended up having to call a second Uber. Again, I'll be taking this service again and will update. Definitely take into account negative and positive reviews before making a decision, but all was good for me! Took one star off for the drop off location, I don't think there was wifi on board, and the bus could be a tad bit cleaner. read more

I will never book with our OurBus again after learning my lesson. I still don't understand how I could have missed the Syracuse to Ithaca bus after traveling by bus in multiple counties, even before I had a smartphone. What makes this worse is that I had a friend who has lived in the city for 3 years drop me off and tell me exactly where to stand to catch the bus; and I arrived 30 mins early and made sure to track the bus on their app. The GPS tracker on the app told me the bus was in the location I was standing, but I saw nothing...which had me baffled because it's really hard to miss a huge bus. When I finally realized that this bus was not coming, I freaked out and frantically figured out another way to reach my location because I remember seeing that the next bus was like 5-7 hours later and would be at night. When I contacted customer service a few days later, they told me the bus in question had come, and if I had contacted them earlier, they would have put me on the next bus. I communicated my concerns to them (about waiting 5-7 hours for a bus I wasn't sure would even come), showed my Uber costs putting me at the location in question and couldn't even get a refund. After being told there is nothing they can do for me, I consider this a lesson learned. The interesting thing is that I ended up taking the Flix bus from Ithaca to NYC with no problems. This is by far the worst experience I have had with bus company. Port authority has designated gates and ourbus will show up at one of them. However, 5 minutes before the schedule departure time, the bus already move to a different location with no one attending the gate. We have 6 people couldn't find anyone and the bus just left. The most outrageous experience come when we try to contact customer support and it's all denial and dodging. For other folks traveling, I will suggest you to choose a established company like Peter Pan/greyhound with adequate ground support. read more

Irresponsible rude agents and system. Every time I ride with this company something happens. I was scheduled for a bus and drove an hour and 30 minutes to the bus station. I arrived 20 minutes early and I got a email 20 minutes before the bus was scheduled to leave that it was cancelled. Ourbus wasted my time and money, since I had to pay tolls coming to the bus stop and leaving the bus stop. The tolls totaled $20!! When I contacted Ourbus, the agent who took my call rescheduled my trip, but I was never reimbursed for the extra money they made me waste, since I had to pay the toll again the next day!! $40 wasted on tolls, $20 of which I shouldn't have had to pay! The agent tried to offer me $5 off of my next trip and that was the best and all he could do. Why would I want to book again with a company so irresponsible? Then he changed it to $10 off! My answer is still the same, I want my wasted money back, but funny how he was able to change his offer after saying he couldn't!! I asked to speak to a manager and repeatedly asked if they would definitely call me back, and the agent said yes! However I NEVER GOT A CALLBACK UNTIL 2 WEEKS LATER I HAD TO CALL THEM BACK about another issue! The agent I called before told me the buses wait 5 minutes until they leave, so I got there a minute before due to other circumstances I couldn't come earlier! However I arrive to see the bus leaving! When I spoke to agents this time, I was told over and over again the same information basically they don't believe it's their fault, however it's clear this bus company is irresponsible from previous trips, and they don't believe you when you tell them that another agent said something different, they all talk like they all know each other, saying "we" do not say that, I'm sorry but how do you know what another agent said to me?? They also speak over you, and never answer any questions, just ignore it altogether and repeat their same script even when the script doesn't apply. These agents are definitely able to reschedule a trip, the company is just money hungry and their agents don't want to admit their managers are actually available, they just tell you they aren't available. Let's see if the manager will call me back this time, apparently the first agent didn't put in my request the first time I called, another example of how irresponsible and badly trained they are. read more

This company left a whole group of travelers stranded in Amherst (and on the entire route to New York I believe) on a holiday weekend when their scheduled bus broke down. The company then offered a credit for future travel. Finally, the company refunded the amount paid for their tickets but did not reimburse the amount it cost to get home after they stranded us. TAKE AT YOUR OWN RISK: First bus to Washington DC was okay. Bus arrived a little later than what was scheduled but got an email speaking about this. Bus driver and accompanying employee were kind and helped with bags. Coming back to New Brunswick was hell. Bus was set to depart at 12:50 but a bus didn't show up until 12:55 (understandable). They load us on the bus with no help with bags and a very substandard way of checking people in. We get on the bus and wait for 35 minutes with 0 to no explanation of what is going on. We're told to call costumer service if we have complaints. This wasn't the worst part nor did I mind the waiting. It's now around 6:30 (bus was set to arrive at New Brunswick around 4:30) and the bus driver is unaware of where we are going and where the stop in New Brunswick is. Passengers have to yell that we are going the wrong way and to turn around, basically directing him where to go. Not only are we behind by 2 hours due to waiting at the terminal and traffic (which is uncontrollable, I understand) but we're behind now because the bus driver is unaware about where the stop is. 2 stars are given because of the amazing bus ride I had down to Washington DC without issue, none are given to the bus right I had back. Edit: Bus landed in New Brunswick around 7:05 PM, attached is the photo and how far south we went after the bus driver missing the Rutgers University exits. The bus driver put my luggage on the top left and I could see that it was too near to where the trunk door hinge closes and when I got my luggage back, the handle was destroyed because the trunk door slammed onto my luggage handle and destroyed it. The driver was probably nastiest person I've ever experienced in the 17 years I've taken buses between the DMV and NYC. He was rude and abrasive to my almost 70 year old mother and myself on the 7:00 PM ride on Friday October 18, 2019 leaving from NYC to Columbia, MD. We decided to do our best to keep our composure but I was almost to the point of tears when my mother got out to stretch her legs on the first stop and he accused her of taking HER OWN BAGS OUT OF THE BUS (which she didn't, he did). Once she displayed her confusion, he goes to her "get back on the bus!". Unbelievable. Before the ride started, we were talking to the very kind young man that was with us before the bus arrived and works for the company. The driver accused us of complaining about his no coffee/tea rule upon entering the bus. We left the topic long before. Small mind, huge ego. Terrible, terrible. Tell all your friends not to take this bus. Such a shame since the ride was so convenient to where we were located in Maryland. And a beautiful bus too. At one point the driver said "you can email the company and call them right now!" in response to what he felt was us talking behind his back. If he felt so comfortable saying that, of his own volition without us promoting him to say so, that means the company likely won't take action. I have a picture of the bus's DOT number and the back of his license plate, since we were seated in the front and the plate was displayed in window. I urge nobody to waste time with OurBus!!! Take NJ Transit. They keep your money if they have a glitch ( which is always with coupons) and put a wrong pickup address. I have taken OurBus numerous times to Resorts. It's been always pleasant, but unfortunately their customer service and appreciation for their customers is horrific. The app has glitches & the 1st time this happened waa with the coupon code...the 2nd I not only wasn't able to use my coupon code again, but it gave me a ticket to a random pickup. I called the customer service number 5 minutes to ask where my bus was only to find out it wasn't for the pickup I requested. I requested a refund OR credit for this ($106 for 2 tickets), only to be told no, because i didn't call 30min prior. My experience with Ourbus has been excellent! It's a shame that anger and frustration bring people to leave reviews more often then satisfaction. My route was Cincinnati to Chicago 11/27/19- our driver Earl was courteous, helpful and extremely punctual. Despite there only being a handful of passengers, his customer service did not waiver. Also, it was extremely windy out and the driver handled the turbulence well. I would absolutely recommend Ourbus to a friend. Only suggestion to this specific bus carrier--ditch the back of seat organizers. You lose leg room and they look worn out on an otherwise very high end bus. My daughter booked an advance ticket from Ithaca to White Plains. Her Bus was reschedule 2 hour before 2.15 pm departure- due to mechanical failure. Likely over booking in busy schedule day. Then 5 hours later at 7.30 pm - reschedule again via e mail for the second time same day at 9.30 pm which was cancelled- via e mail minutes before- stranding her for no available way of getting out of Ithaca missing flight next day. Likely over book and cancel those who buy early cheaper tickets and when the date or time comes closer sell high price tickets cancelling cheaper and earlier ones by such means. I am reporting them to DOT as well. Will tell everyone do not use this company. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE THIS BUS SERVICE. on 8/11/2019, I boarded a bus from DC to NY at 3:20 pm. First thing - The bus shows up almost an hour late. Second thing - The bus driver was some sort of lunatic or on drugs or something. Third thing - The back left tire caught a flat and we had to wait about two hours to get it fixed. FOURTH MAJOR THING - We went about another 30 miles to hit Delaware. People on the bus were hearing really loud noises from under the bus and we pleaded with the driver to stop the car but he said "it was fine, that's the noises a spare makes" After another 10 minutes the noises got louder and I see the tire fling out of the bus and on to the highway! We waited another 2 hours and OurBus was not cooperating in getting us transportation until they had no other options. Amazing brand new bus, clean, power outlets, laminate flooring, wifi (spotty but pretty good nearing the city), DVD screens (no movie was playing). The only issue is the service, specifically the driver at 8am on Saturday 9/16 from NYC (Port Authority) to DC with a stop in NJ. He was rude when we were lined up to enter the bus, he was like "are y'all going to DC? *A handful of people start lining up* some ask "what about Columbia MD, New Brunswick NJ?" He goes "oh come on guys what you waiting for? DC it's all the same let's go". Then when it was time to load the luggage he just pointed so I could load it myself. Like sure I have a small carry on I don't mind but your job is to assist and you're not doing that or even offering to. Additionally, according to the OurBus website, snacks and water are included but not for this ride apparently. Because I didn't have time to eat breakfast I was really hoping for that but instead the driver just took off without saying a word. Yeah I'm pretty hAngry right now haha :( Would use the bus again but hoping for a better driver next time. I took this bus for my first time ever to Canada from NY with my niece a new mother. We were refused boarding in buffalo in the rain with an infant because the driver didn't feel like my nieces hospital documents were sufficient enough to enter into Canada. His reason for not allowing us to board was that the company didn't want to eat the cost of having to send us back to New York NY if we got turned away. He pretended to call customs he called no one. We called customs again ourselves and were told to come. We took Uber to customs for $50 more and got in. customer service was of no help! they offered me$15 for the inconvenience. I wish I can give them 0 star, after my recent experience. I booked a round trip from Albany to New York for sons. I purchased their superSaver pass of $33 and paid $62 total for 4 tickets and was so happy to save some money. I paid about $15 for each ticket while full price was $17. Bus picked them up on time and, after about 2 hours I received call from my son saying, the driver just kicked everyone out of bus and left. He said 1 of the passengers was smoking and driver removed all passengers from bus. I asked him if any backup bus is coming? The driver just left without saying anything, all passengers on the road, kids, elderly.....in the cold. I couldn't believe if anybody would do that, totally unacceptable. They were scared and cold. I asked them to wait for any backup bus. No bus after 1 hour waiting and it was getting dark outside. I called my husband and he started driving immediately from New York to pick them up. He had to drive about 80 miles to pick them up and I was up all night coz of stress. I tried to reach out customer service number but, it didn't gave me any options to talk to a real person. I was done with their service and tried to cancel other 2 seats for returning next week, it takes me to customer service chat, they didn't said anything about drivers irresponsible behavior and cancelled the trip and refunded the money BUT I was shocked to see what I was refunded! $6:50 for 2 tickets and $22 for upcoming 2 tickets. I again chat with them asking about my refund, I paid $62 , they said the SuperSaver pass of $33 is non refundable, it's their policy. I wouldn't suggest anyone using their service and especially using their SuperSaver pass. I would prefer to pay few extra bucks on other reliable service and wouldn't recommend OurBus to anyone especially their so called SuperSaver pass. read more

I contacted this company in hopes of renting a coach bus for guests for my daughters' wedding. I was contacted quickly by Tony, who told me that I was booking too late (June 20th for an August 31st booking - over 2 months from the date), and the only thing available was 1 school bus, and he could only hold the quote 48 hours. This was not acceptable to my daughter (afraid it was not air conditioned), and I found another company who met my needs (a modern, air-conditioned 61 seat tour bus). When, as a courtesy, I contacted Tony to say we found another vendor, he first asked for the price so they could price match, and when I said a school bus wouldn't work for us, miraculously a modern, 56 seat coach bus was available (we're only talking 24 hours after the first contact). Funny how that coach wasn't available the day before, and IF it did become available during that 24 hours, he did not immediately reach out to me to let me know. I would be VERY hesitant to rent from this company due to the bait-and-switch tactic used to take a product I didn't want. Know that I am paying quite a bit more to get what I want, but it's never about the money - the other company supplied superior customer service from start to finish. This company is a scam, don't use it. On Nov 28 2021, there were supposed to be two buses from NYC to Boston: 1:30pm and 2pm. Neither bus arrived. I overheard the 1:30pm bus-people saying they were unable to contact customer service. I waited from 1:45pm to 3pm before I gave up and left considering I was just waiting out on the cold street with 30 other freezing, angry people (mostly students trying to get back post-Thanksgiving). At 4:28 pm, I received a text message from OurBus that said the bus had arrived at the pick-up stop, along with the driver's name, vehicle description and plate no. OurBus is stupid if they think people will wait 2.5 hours in the dark and cold for a bus. This was a ridiculous experience considering the bus ticket cost $79. After leaving the bus stop at 3pm, I went and bought a $83 Amtrak ticket instead and it was a much better experience. Lesson learned. Maybe MegaBus or Greyhound would be better? Also, I tried to email their supposed customer services, but no reply. No way of getting a refund it seems. read more

I bought a ticket from DC Union Station that was supposed to include a shuttle to Brooklyn per their website and own customer service agent. On the day of my trip the driver had no clue what I was referring to. The whole reason I went with this shitty bus service was because of the shuttle service. I asked for a refund since they didn't provide the service I paid for. It took them six days to get back with me and it wasn't until I blasted them on a public platform that they responded. I wasn't offered a full or partial refund, a credit, nothing for what they acknowledge is a miscommunication on their end. Instead I was blocked for warning others. Do not ride with this trash company. Update: I don't care. Your website is misleading and you acknowledged that by saying you would change it. Since that's the case, you should have given me a refund or at least tried to make the customer happy. Your business must not be doing too me for you to be so hard up for $30. The owner/admin of OurBus contacted me right away to figure out what the issue was. OurBus has said that they will refund me the $22.00, not just the credit. Although my main issue really wasn't the refund and more of the anger of waiting for a bus that did not show up and the attitude of the associate on the phone; I understand that companies do not always have full control over their employees or third-party contractors. But, reliability is key for any transportation company. So, I feel only right to give 1-star upgrade. Since, in the end, my mom had to drive me to Norfolk and drive back to VA alone. My friend will use OurBus with the special offer they provided me and let me know his experience. Once I have his feedback, I will make another update. read more

Sometimes great service, sometimes terrible, with terrible customer service. This was my go-to bus service through Covid and beyond because of its ease. Normally my buses had been on time, and when they weren't you can track the bus and see if it's coming. My latest trip I was there on time, the bus was not. I tried to track the bus and it was not available, so after 10 minutes I called the company. They said they couldn't track the bus because they were using a third party bus company and had to go through them to find out where the bus was. I waited with another passenger for an hour and a half and we both had called to check multiple times and were told to stay at the stop until they find the bus. Finally I asked if they could just refund the ticket because at that point they couldn't guarantee the bus was even coming, and at this point I was informed the bus came while I was waiting there and somehow missed it. I've complained several times that I was there the whole time, and they keep telling me the bus arrived at different times. You can tell customer service has no power to actually help you, and just continue to throw fluff answers at me. I'm very disappointed as I was always recommending this service but through this process did discover another more reliable option. read more

Service is terrible. I use OurBus frequently because it drives To Ithaca from New York City but each time I book a trip, I am consistently disappointed. Once the bus didn't show up and other times it was significantly late. Other times the driver made a 20 minute rest stop at Burger king which is completely unnecessary as there are bathrooms at the back of the bus. I'm literally writing this review as I'm riding with this bus for the first time. I'm wowed by the cleanliness, comfort, and overall friendly vibe of this bus and the staff. I used to take Greyhound, out of ease rather than actual comfort, and having been burned by horrible customer service and broken down buses I decided to look for an alternative. Thankfully I found OurBus and the routes perfect for when I need to go to NY to MD. I'm often traveling back to see family in the DC/MD/VA area and have taken a good share of buses. I thought the only "good" buses serviced the DC and VA area like Vamoose and Tripper. Love them both, but OurBus is really the best bus I've ever been on. Can't wait to book my next trip. read more

This was probably the worst bus trip experience I have ever had. First, the boarding process was extremely disorganized. We waited in line for thirty minutes to be told we had to board last as there were other who needed to reload. Second, the bus left DC without air conditioning. It was 86 degrees when we left. Then, despite the bus running an hour behind schedule, the drive decided to stop at a New Jersey rest stop for thirty minutes. When we got back on the road, a mile away from Lincoln Tunnel, the bus was involved in a car accident. At this point we were now 2 hours behind schedule. Riders sat in an over heated bus while the driver attempted to handle the other driver. Once we were again back on the road, the driver made another unscheduled stop to let out disgruntled customers. Overall, I would not recommend Our Bus at all. The bus never should have left the terminal in 80+ degree weather. read more

I absolutely dread taking the bus usually; my past experiences with Greyhound and other bus lines were never good due to cramped busses, old busses that were in horrible condition, uncomfortably long rides, and never arriving at the destination on time. I recently needed to book a bus ticket and found Ourbus via the Wanderu website- it was the cheapest one, and the reviews didn't seem too bad, so I went ahead and booked it. I was nervous and once again, dreadful of what was to come, but I must say I was completely surprised. I appreciated that Ourbus does an e-ticket sent straight to your email plus, EXACT directions to your pickup/drop off locations. This takes all the hassle of trying to figure out if you're in the right place or not, because it does pick up on various street stops and not always bus terminals. When I got to the bus, the bus driver came out and greeted the waiting passengers- very friendly and professional. They have a simple and organized system of checking tickets too, the driver asks you your name and they simply check it off their mobile list. They even give you a complimentary water! They also offer wifi, outlets, reclining seats, free rescheduling, the whole nine. I was really blown away by the service of this bus and especially the cleanliness of it, it was absolutely spotless, and I don't mean just the seats, literally the entire bus, windows, floors, it was all clean. Everything was new and in great condition, the seats were comfortable, ample leg room, and the bus smelled like it had gotten cleaned that same morning before pickup. I love using the bus when I need to travel from NY to Worcester. It's always very convenient, clean, and the drivers are so patient! This trip in particular was such a dream come true. I was in quite the rush this morning and accidentally ended up at Penn Station! I raced to Port Authority, out of breath and hoping I made it to the correct gate. Norm welcomed me with a warm smile and reassured me I still had time to onboard. He even offered me a nice fresh water bottle! There was plenty of seats and I chose one right by the window. I was so happy I made it on time and especially with a driver as patient as Norm! He was very kind and thorough when announcing our departure. He even cracked a joke which made me chuckle and eased my nerves. I was able to calmly get work done and take a nap. When I first saw the NYC - Lowell line, it was like a goldmine. It was a way for me to go directly to my LDR boyfriend's town and get there early enough to rest and wake up for work. Then came the tickets rising, feeling like it nearly doubled in price. Okay, that kinda sucked but still convenient. Then the buses in the past three/four months came on time, then five minutes, then ten minutes late. One trip, 4th of July weekend a bus was overbooked. I came on the bus and found no seats available - I checked twice, the second time almost in disbelief. I decided to sit on the seat with the water bottles as the alternative was not getting in the trip at all. The bus driver got upset and kept grumbling "there's another seat available" when there... Clearly wasn't. Not wanting to get kicked off the bus I had a pretty uncomfortable ride. My current trip has a bus driver that's 45 minutes late in departure. Unlike the last trip, the bus driver was courteous and I have no issue with him. However, I did notice although I signed up for alerts, unlike in Fourth of July there was no notification email or text. If a bus route is going to be consistently late, perhaps find better solutions? Cancel that time entirely? I'm not sure. I can't really blame OurBus for pushing the time back, but the combination of an overbooked bus + rude driver on one trip and 45 minute delay in departure time is going to... Ah... "Leave this as my last impression" before switching to Greyhound for Boston. At this point, bf and I would get home earlier that way. read more

Update: thank you for the company for reaching out to me and explaining the problem and offering a better alternative. This bus explained to me what happened to our bus because most of the rider didn't know what was going on and now I understand accidents happens. Whatever the cause may be, they did the right thing to fix it before it became a problem so hats off to them. Looking forward to my next adventure with them. This bus company has lost all my credibility. I took this bus from dc to nyc and had no problems, left at 9 on the dot and arrived at 1. However on the way back, the bus was suppose to leave nyc around 5 until the bus had at problem. Guess what time the bus actually left nyc? 8:45 that's almost a 4 hour difference, that is ridiculous come on now I can understand 1-2 hours but 4, that is completely unnecessary. I had to book another bus back to DC because my phone was going to die and then I would have no way of getting on the bus. I feel bad for whoever stuck with the bus, they probably had to either book a different bus back at a higher rate or even go to a hotel for the night read more
