This is my second review and it is for the driver Augustus (?) unfortunately this experience was the exact opposite of my first. The driver drove well under the speed limit (60mph max in 65mph) at all times. This wouldn't particularly be a problem except there was heavy traffic in the main cities which made the bus extremely late! The driver could have made that delay up when the roads were free (like any other good driver would have) but he stubbornly moseyed around extremely slow in the right lane even when there was no traffic. Additionally to that we made THREE stops on the way from DC to NYC which was never once mentioned when I bought the ticket or any time thereafter. I was 2 hours late and missed an important appointment. Also it seems like ticket prices are going up on busy days/times. read more

I've had Barb as a driver a few times and she is GREAT. However, this is the 3rd time I am dealing with a driver who is quite arbitrary and often rude. This time he told us we cannot use the reading lights due to the glare on his window. That's the first time any driver has said that. Although I appreciate the safety aspect of the request, I have never been TOLD i cannot use them AND have experienced him on previous rides nodding off behind the wheel. Further, I've attempted to board in Ithaca before and he could not find me on the roster and wouldn't let me help him try to find the reservation. I tried to show him my reservation confirmation on my phone and he accused me of being hostile and warned me that the bus had cameras. As I waited to the side, I witness him board other passengers after experiencing the same issue with trying to find their reservations. He did not threaten them or accuse them of being hostile. I would like to continue using and recommending this service, but at this time I regret I cannot. read more

My original booking was set to leave at 3:15pm and arrive at 7:30pm. I received an email a few days prior to the trip saying that my travel plans got moved to 3:30 - 8:10. On the day of, we didn't leave until 4pm because we were waiting on a single person who was late. A parent was seeing his child off and went inside the bus, just to the top of the stairs to see if there were seats avaiable, while the child checked in with the driver outside. The bus driver was extremely rude and yelled at the parent, in a very condescending tone, screaming that only ticketed passengers were allowed on the bus. He must have repeated this at least 3 times. Sure, that may be the rule but this driver needs a lesson on customer service. He said also twice that this is HIS bus- sorry, but he's just a driver, not the owner. He needs to chill out. Great way to travel! I booked Ourbus from NYC to Maryland and back. Timing and location was convenient, and the bus arrived on time. After a quick check in, I was in a comfortable seat listening to my jam. The driver was patient and considerate, got me to Maryland on time. I have been traveling on buses for years. I use ourbus often. They left two minutes early on me once. Another time I scheduled a bus and paid for it and it did not come I was in the cold. They refunded me but he told me it was an "experimental thing". Today the buses that were online disappeared and I was trying to see my family for Christmas! read more

I want to highlight how helpful Deberth and David were on Bus #804 (NY-Tysons,VA) on January 26, 2018. I bought a friend a bus ticket for her birthday and they were extremely helpful and expedient with the boarding process; it was 24 degrees outside at 1:30pm and they got her on the bus quick! Horrible customer service. I had to miss my bus in Philadelphia because I simply wasn't able to locate it. The address they give you is super confusing. There are no signs whatsoever. Other bus companies are so much better when it comes to logistics. They have their logo printed out and they give you AN ACTUAL ADDRESS not between this and that etc etc, I am not local! It was a nightmare to find. And when I did I couldn't locate the bus. Other bus companies have security that work for them you can ask them questions. This company decided to locate their stop on such a busy street it's a nightmare. No one at the bus terminal knows what OURBUS is. I wasn't able to locate it on the screen either. I have the feeling the bus left early because I got there 5 min before the departure because it was so hard to find the stop. It shouldn't be like that. When I called the company, they said they can't do anything since it has been 24 hours and they told me that other 25 passengers were able to find the bus stop, which is super rude. Maybe do something to make it easier to find the stop instead trying to make me feel foolish. read more

Our bus had no AC in 80 degree weather and it was at least 85 degrees in the bus for 3 hours on a 4.5 hour ride from DC to NYC, the driver didn't do anything until customers spoke up about the temperature and the problem only took 2 minutes to fix at a rest stop. At the second pickup point, this driver also forgot to close the luggage storage doors on the outside of the bus and started driving onto the highway with them open until people yelled for his attention. Overall clean bus and good-spirited clientele but horrendous service and attitude from the driver. read more

We used Ourbus this weekend for the first time. I was not happy with the experience. First of all they advertised that they offer Wifi which they didn't have on either bus to and from NYC. They assured us the driver would make an announcement asking everyone to wear a mask. I asked the driver before we left discretely to speak to the only woman on the bus who was mask-less. He did not. Nor did he wear his mask which was under his chin the whole time. for our return ride there were no announcements at all. When I asked the driver for a bottle of water he said it was in the luggage rack under the bus and I should have asked before getting on. How would I know that since the outgoing had water readily available and this driver NEVER made any announcements??? He also never announced what was happening when we pulled into a holiday in and waited about 20 minutes for another driver to take over. We had no idea what was going on or how long it would take. I don't recommend this company and we will never travel with them again. read more

this is a horrible bus company, the staff is rude and very disrespectful. I booked a ticket from Ithaca to New York city and they sent the wrong address. I got there only to be told no buses come to that stop. I called them and tried to have the issue resolved but was insulted by them and was told they would not issue a refund even though they inconvenienced me and left me stranded! The managers just kept going back and forth with me with their passive aggressive emails and when I finally got to speak to someone on the phone it was even worse. I asked for a refund since he left me stranded and he told me the most he could do was give me a travel voucher for 2 months, 2 months? I still haven't received my refund and will advice you not to use this bus with its incompetent service. Unreliable. 6 hours for a 4.5 hour trip from nyc to dc due to a 45 minute driver switch. 5 hours to nyc from dc due to traffic. A/c was not working properly on the bus from dc to nyc and stopped working entirely for half an hour before coming back on minimally and not before the car reached at least 100 degrees as depicted by the thermostat on the driver's dashboard. OurBus is a horrendous scam PLEASE DO NOT USE this "service". This company left me stranded in Atlantic City, NJ. I took a bus that put me in Atlantic City at the Tropicana a bit after 4 pm on July 27, 2023. I booked a round trip ticket, which gave me no information on the return trip. I incorrectly assumed the bus terminal would provide return information once I reached Atlantic City. The Tropicana bus terminal provided information on how to obtain the gambling credit. The Caesars Rewards desk had no information on returning to NYC. When I went back to the bus terminal, I discovered the desk closed until the next day. There was a message board for vendors to contact during after hours. The was a website address, but no one to contact real-time. I WAS STRANDED. When the bus terminal opened the next day I sought help and the Tropicana said contact the OurBus company. I discovered my return was supposed to be on the 2:30 pm on the July 28, 2023 bus. The bus arrived, the driver said he did not have me on the manifest, therefore he refused to let me board. He called his dispatch and told me even if I purchased a new return in that moment I would not be allowed to board a bus until July 29, 2023. I WAS STRANDED. I purchased a new ticket on Greyhound just to get back to NYC arriving 28 hours after using the OurBus ticket. This company is TRASH!!! I spent $780.00 for a quick day trip to Atlantic City, NJ. My point in sharing this story, keep it simple and buy your ticket from a reputable company at Port Authority!!!!!!! If I could rate this a zero stars I would. read more

Although I, nor anybody I know, have never been on this company's bus services, I can say without a doubt that the drivers can be reckless and hot headed so think twice before riding! Today around 1:30, my father and I encountered bus and the driver in front of us had obvious anger issues as he swerved left and right, taking up both lanes, and almost crushing my father's car among other vehicles as he was determined not to let us pass. I don't know whether the heat got to his head or he just had a bone to pick but it was very frightening and unprofessional. I traveled to DC this weekend on 4/13/18 From nyc on OurBus and I'm writing this as I sit on a greyhound bus back home to nyc. OurBus is excellent! The bus was clean and seats were comfy and had charging outlets. The driver was great! We got a free water bottle upon boarding. The WiFi was fully operational, no issues. Whereas this greyhound bus that I'm sitting on right now has grimey floors, little to no WiFi connection and the driver is very nice but hasn't updated us even once. Special shout out to my OurBus driver Andrew who was so professional and polite. He would also update us regularly on the journey I haven't had such great service ever from a driver. He deserves some recognition! Finding the OurBus at port authority wasn't hard. Go to the gate labeled on your ticket. The OurBus sign is clearly labeled. I think because they are new/low budget they may share the areas with other buses. So if you are unsure, just ask The attendant at the front, they were very nice! read more

This was my first time using OurBus. Living in the Lansdale, PA it was always a trek to get to NYC by train from Trenton Station or going to Philly to get a chartered bus to nyc. This was the most comfortable and easiest way I've ever taken to get to NYC. They had a bus that leaves from Malvern, King of Prussia and Fort Washington PA. It was so convenient. I drove to Fort Washington Station on. Sunday morning and parked my car there(for free on weekends.) The bus arrives right on time, the driver was courteous and the bus was clean, including the restroom, had WiFi, had charging outlets and gave a free bottle of water. I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. The return trip was super easy as well. They tell you where to meet the bus and it was leaving at 7:30pm and I got to the pick up at about 7:10 and the bus was there so I was able to sit back and relax until we left at exactly 7:30. The customer service through the app was amazing! I had left my cell phone on the bus accidentally and when I drove home I used m husbands phone and through the app I chatted with a live person at 9:40pm on a Sunday! Adam was the Representative I chatted with. Within less than 10 minutes Adam had contacted the bus driver and she had my phone. Adam arranges for the bus driver that would be at Fort Washington the next morning to bring my phone with him to the stop. I was there when the bus came on time the next morning and the bus driver had my phone for me! I highly recommend using OurBus. I am so happy I know have a much easier way right from Montgomery County PA to get to NYC easily. By the way the ride was quick and easy and made no other stops after Fort Washington on our way to nyc. read more

Bad and deceptive practices. Specially DO NOT BUY their Super Saver coupons at any cost. When you book a ticket, you can always cancel and rebook another ticket, but not with these coupons. They market them deceptively. Even though the coupons are marketed as "3 rides", "5 rides" or "10 rides" - they are not actual rides, but just bookings. As soon as you make a booking, you use it up, even if you have to cancel it and want to book another one later. They mention these in the fine prints, exactly how deceptive marketing works. I have also reported them to Better Business Bureau. If you want to ride OurBus, ride at your own peril. My last bus was 1 1/2 hours delayed and I missed my connecting flight as well, overall, I recommend you choose another option if you have any. read more

More lies than Amber Heard! Got to bus stop at 6:20 in Fort Lee NJ when bus was supposed to pull over to pick me up at 6:35. I worked in Fort Lee and according to their map I knew the stop well. The bus was supposed to leave the GWB station at 6:30 so at 6:31 I clicked the tracking link they gave me and it said something like "Bus Departs at 6:30" and wasn't tracking anything. I checked the tracking again at 6:35 when the bus was supposed to arrive in Fort Lee and it said the same thing. The tracking didn't work at all. After not seeing the bus for about 15 minutes I contacted a customer service agent through the online chat. At about 20 minutes after the bus was supposed to arrive the agent said the bus had already been to the Fort Lee stop. About 30 minutes later at 7:05 I had to leave the stop completely in order to go into NYC and catch an Amtrak instead. The bus stop is a stop for a lot of NJT buses and I saw a lot of them but I NEVER saw a bus that looked like theirs or some other bus with a sign indicating it was them or going to Albany. All they can tell me is that the bus DID go to the stop and they will NOT issue me a refund but some type of credits. I wish to never deal with this bus company again as they are unreliable and I want a refund. They say it is my fault for missing the bus when it didn't show! Maybe if I write the BBB. read more

The Ourbus to Richmond (final destination Norfolk) from PAT was actually a leased or contracted Mertz bus. I departed from gate 25 on the lower level of PAT. Line was orderly and boarding was quick and efficient with paperless tickets. The bus was packed however. One thing I'm finding rather common on all long distant bus travel is that isles are getting more narrow. What's that saying: you pay for what you get? Well in this case, you don't pay, so you dont get. NYC to Richmond for $21.00? You get modern coach, clean bathroom, working outlets and unlimited bottles of water. I was very happy with all that for $21.00. I thoroughly enjoyed a nice one hour layover in Union Station (DC), an architectural gem where food, sweets and shopping are plentiful. The bus does not make random stops so you're sitting for long periods. That can get uncomfortable. Temperature on bus was perfect. No riders complained about it being too cold or too hot. The driver was very professional. He kept us informed about stops well before we arrived so we would have time to get our luggage and things together.  The stop in Richmond was on VCU campus in a nice area. I was able to get an Uber in 10 minted and it took me to my Airbnb in another 10 minutes. I definitely will bypass the China bus when going to Virginia. If Ourbus goes to destinations south of Richmond, I'd explore the opportunity to travel with them. read more

Since August , I have been being played with by this company. They gave me a partial refund after stranding 5 passengers in the dark in NYC. It cost more than they gave me in tolls for my family to drive from PA and back, in the dark, in the rain to retrieve us all from NYC. It was all their fault, they are a dangerous bus company, go at your own risk! They don't accept responsibility for their mistakes, and it's dangerous. My husband and I travelled from D.C to NYC with our bus. Bus was a little late, nothing to complain about. Seats reasonably comfortable and water was a nice touch. We arrived on time and Really like being dropped off at port authority in NYC. I rode with OurBus the other day. The bus was clean, there were plenty of seats available, a driver who was professional and respectful and who politely asked that people be quiet if they were talking on their phones or amongst themselves too loudly. It arrived on time, tickets were reasonably priced, and outlets were available. I saw the bag of waters on the way out, I wish I had grabbed one! Especially after having a horrible experience with another bus service this weekend, it puts things greatly into perspective. Of course depending on who is driving, how many are onboard, traffic, and many other factors, not every ride will be so easy. But this one I didn't have any complaints about. read more

Convenient with lots of potential. Took a short trip from DC to Ocean City. There was a little confusion at our departure because the bus driver did not have a list of passengers. We were delayed because of this. The bus itself was nice, we still managed to arrive a little ahead of schedule. Not many passengers but one loud woman who talked the entire time (we can't have it all...) on our return we met the bus that was pulled infront of an Ocean City Police Officer.... which gave room for concern but found out the bus could not be parked where it was (which was exactly where our ticket told us to go), the bus had to move a short corner away. Overall great idea to get to the beach if you want to avoid driving. But OurBus has a few kinks to work out if it wants to continue to gain traction and passengers. genuinely the worst bus experience I've ever had, the bus was supposed to arrive in hartford at 1230 to go to NYC. it did not get there till 2 and the bus stop we were directed to wait at was wrong, the bus driver fully started heading to New York without stopping in Hartford. horrible, horrible, horrible. gonna be extremely late now. not to add when I boarded the bus they drove 30 mins in the wrong direction then went through hartford again. Extremely disappointed with the decision to prioritise 2 passengers who missed the bus over the 30+ passengers who had to wait an hour for them to arrive. I was hoping to spend a pleasant afternoon in Harvard Square Park with my ex husband and 3 children with a picnic of reconciliation. However this picnic was cut short due to the hour we spent waiting on the side of the highway. He is now still my ex. I would recommend that the employee at Our Bus making these decisions to take some elementary form of game theory/logic decision making. A good example of this is the riddle of the farmer and fox. A farmer has a chicken, fox, and chicken feed. He has to get them all across a river in his boat but can only take one at a time and can't leave the fox with the chicken or chicken with the feed. How does he do it? Your employee should be able to answer it if they are in charge of making these crucial decisions. read more

A cheap and bumpy bus ride to NYC with issues. This was my first time riding OurBus and I was looking forward to it. They claim that they are "... a regional transportation company created to make the feeling of traveling just as good as the feeling of arriving.". However, they failed to deliver on their promise of Wi-Fi on the bus. In fact, their advertisement is misleading and false. The Wi-Fi issue is not the cell towers but their Wi-Fi router on the bus. When I asked the bus driver to reboot the bus Wi-Fi router, he didn't care. He was too busy chatting on the cell phone with his friend. I contacted OurBus customer service and they also didn't care. They didn't make any serious attempt to fix the issue by calling the bus driver to reboot the bus Wi-Fi router during one of the bus stops. Some of the buses are not designed with human factors in mind. For example, in the bus to NYC that I rode the power outlet was at the bottom of your seat, which made it hard to see (find) it and reach it. In contrast, it should have been in the back of the seat in front of you so can see it and easily access it. Also, the same bus lacked trays behind the seat in front of you that you can use it to place your book or other items. The reading light in that same bus was not working. There is supposed to be no eating on the bus but there were folks eating. If you're going to have rules, they should apply to all or don't create the rules. The ride to NYC felt very bumpy. It seems the bus did not have good suspension because I could feel all the bumps on the road. The "track the bus" feature on the OurBus app did not work. So why even offer it as a feature? Their buses are not "OurBus" buses but buses from other companies. The bus ride to NYC arrived early but the return bus arrived late. Fixing these issues would have made the bus ride to NYC more enjoyable. Other than that, the bus was relatively modern and clean. They also give you a free bottle of water. There is ample leg space between your seat and the seat in front of you. You can also recline your seat. The boarding experience was quick and easy. You can check in one bag for free and carry one personal item with you. But because of so many bags checked in, your bag may get pushed deep into the back of the storage, which later makes it hard to retrieve. They need a better way to handle this issue. I hope OurBus takes their customer feedback more seriously. I do want them to succeed but they need to make improvements. read more

UPDATE: the company ended up refunding everyone on the bus. First time taking this bus. Took a risk. Right now it's 6:30am. The bus was supposed to leave at 5:30am from NYC. We got emails and texts at 5:40am that the bus would be late. Imagine this is in the cold waiting for the bus. When it did arrive around 6am the crowd got on the bus with no organization or line just for the bus to smell like cigarettes. Then the last available seats were empty ... for a reason cause I tried to sit and couldn't fit cause there was absolutely no leg space but I am just 5'8". I contacted the company for a refund which they refused and they only offered me a $20 coupon that they're giving everyone else even though I would hate to take this bus again. Now the driver is still taking names and it is 6:15am. Thus we will be getting to DC super late when I have a scheduled event. Going to stick to BestBus. read more

This was my first time using ourbus. I got tickets to leave philly at 4pm and get to New York at 6. Then from there I was going to take another bus at 7pm. the next stop was a 15 minute walk but I knew with an hour in between, I would have enough time to get there. So at 4pm I'm waiting at the bus stop in philly and the bus doesn't show up for over 30 minutes and we didn't even end up leaving until 4:45pm. I was hoping I'd still get there 15 minutes early so I can catch an Uber to my next bus. I realized that was unrealistic though so I texted our bus for customer service support. The customer service was decent but all they were even able to do for me was give me $10 in credit for their bus (they never even ended up sending me it though). I asked if there was a way they could put me on another one of their busses. I knew that was also not realistic but I'm also a 19 year female who was about to be stranded in NY alone so I wanted to give it a shot. As expected they couldn't do anything for me. I ended up having to pay $112 for a train. i still had to pay for the next bus as well even though I didn't go on it. This whole experience was a waste of money and I'm pissed this is all they were able to do for me. I didn't even have enough money, I had family lend me some. if this happen to someone who doesn't have people in their life who would help them like this, that's terrible. this could have been so much worse if I didn't have help and this will most likely happen to others. I'm really not picky with things and I'm very easy going but I don't just have money like that I'm a freaking college student. so I'm pissed off about this. read more
