I took another amazing yoga class with Teagan and I really loved her class. She had a really great play list and had Sadeness Part I by Enigma in her rotation? She also got in some sequences that were so nice and juicy and got into my hip joints that were so needed (Im a runner and get tight regularly). I'll be taking more of her classes for sure. I dont know if this gym is pet friendly however I made an adorable fur ball friend with a little coaxing by the owner. Owner gave me some treats to feed his very adorable little Alaskan Klee Kai, Kaya (sp??)! I love spitz breed doggies, they are my favorite! Overall, a great bouldering only gym with good yoga classes and doesnt cost a kidney to use.. Im gonna pull the trigger and join this place. The vibes feel right.

This location has a gym area outside with bar bells, free weights, hangboards, and a punching bag, which all feels like a prison gym in a good way hahah! It's surrounded by a chain link fence facing their small parking lot, but having that outside atmosphere does feel nice especially when there's a breeze. In the same area are 2 moon boards, a spray wall, and some other warmup hangboard things. G1 is their original location and is a little smaller than the Miramar one but is the only one with yoga classes. Their other location no longer provides them and instead turned their old yoga room into another climbing area with moon boards. I've done a few yoga classes here one with Jen and another with Alexis. Both are great and different in their own ways, I thoroughly enjoyed both of their yoga styles and will continue to go when I can. As for climbing, I still love their route setting and facilities, and that they're dog-friendly. Over the years there's been a lot of staffing changes but everyone is still nice and welcoming. The drive from the north can suck when it's rush hour and the parking lot is quite small compared to G2. ---- Overall: great place to climb, do yoga, and play with dogs, pretty small parking lot but cool to come to this location for yoga and the occasional climb

As soon as I am feeling better, Im already monkeying around so I came here on Memorial Day Monday…read moreto do some climbing. VITAL also sent me an email to wish me a happy birthday and I was scratching my head as to how I got on their email list and I think what happened is that I have climbed VITAL in Brooklyn before (like years ago), so thats how I got on the list. I didnt realize they were all connected, so super cool to know this! And they offered me a free day to climb so of course this little gym rat showed up! This is a really nice all bouldering gym and I really enjoyed my time here! I still like Mesa Rim the best but this gym is purely for bouldering and I am biased towards all bouldering gyms!! Alex helped me out and was very nice. He had me fill out a waiver, you do have to watch a 2 minute video about how climbing is dangerous and how to fall. I loved this gym because everything felt spacious but also not a lot of people today so that was cool. They also had a lot of their windows and doors opened so a great breeze coming in and just the perfect day to boulder!! I spent about 2 hours here and there were mostly men climbing. This one guy that was climbing was so built that I had trouble focusing on my climbs vs staring at him. He was very nicely chiseled and chose not to wear a shirt, so I was drooling a bit haha. He was cute for sure and we even exchanged a few glances, wink wink! The routes here weren't intuitive for me. They use a color coding system here like Bouldering Project but it was odd to me that some graded easy climbs I had difficult with and then some that are supposed to be hard, I easily climbed those...I couldnt figure out what was going on... There are 4 bathrooms on the bottom floor and a few have showers in them too. Bathrooms were clean and nice. There is an upstairs area thats for yoga classes and also an area where they have ellipticals and bikes. I very much enjoyed climbing here and definitely will be back. Im considering either punch passes or maybe pull the trigger and join, but Oside is a little bit far for me to come regularly. I wish they had a location in Del Mar lol. When I was leaving a bunch of women showed up and aerial silk class was about to start so thats really cool they offer that too! Was so cool to see the colorful silks hang from the ceiling! Overall, an awesome experience! Thank you for my free climb birthday gift and Im definitely coming back!!

Mellow Friday Evening Session with Ocean Breeze at Vital Climbing Gym…read more Came in on a Friday evening around 7pm and it was surprisingly not packed at all -- perfect timing! One side had a class going on while the free climbers had the other side to themselves. The floors are super soft and bouncy, which makes it feel safe (great for teens or anyone worried about falls). The music and overall noise level stayed low, giving the whole place a nice mellow, relaxed vibe. Being an open structure, the ocean breeze sweeps right through and feels refreshing, especially on a warm evening. You could even hear the occasional motorcycle drive by on Coast Hwy, but that was the only real outside noise. I noticed a lot of stretching happening, so if you're into yoga or want a good change-up from just climbing, this seems like a solid spot for that too. Overall, a chill and welcoming environment. Definitely a nice way to unwind after the week.

While I have indoor climbing experience, I wanted a safe and structured environment to transition to outdoor climbing and develop new skills--and this session delivered. The 15-minute hike up is definitely a challenge, but our guides made sure we took plenty of breaks. Our instructors, Fabi (the owner) and Kyle, were phenomenal. From the start, Fabi asked each of us what we wanted to learn and tailored the session accordingly. I was eager to learn how to set up an anchor, so he took a small group aside to teach us in detail, while Kyle worked with those ready to start climbing. Fabi's instruction was incredibly thorough, and safety was always the top priority--which I really appreciated. On top of anchor-building, I also learned how to rappel safely and execute a proper hand jam in a crack. Both Fabi and Kyle were patient, knowledgeable, and super encouraging. I felt completely safe the entire time, and they were more than happy to answer any questions we had. Now, I'm feeling that satisfying post-climb soreness, and I can't wait to come back! This experience was worth every penny for the skills, confidence, and safety knowledge I gained. Even with a two-hour drive from OC, I'll definitely be back when I get another free weekend. If you're considering booking--do it! And don't forget to tip your guides--they truly deserve it for the incredible experience they provide.
