For someone who wasn't originally from this area coming in for an interview calling to let them know I can't find the place driving from Saginaw I had to go back home. When I mentioned the street corner I was at the woman in HR had the nerve to say you don't know where Northeast is??? Uuuuummmm first off I am standing in interview clothes high heels and a skirt in an unknown area in downtown bay city which is dangerous as is I'm not a compass, I can figure out where I am at because I know where Saginaw is but most of the time people say left or right or describe a building. If they are that disrespectful to a potential employee don't waste your money here. This place is an absolute scam! First off, they will call you repeatedly. They will con you into coming to one of their sites by saying you've won something...you didn't. Then they rope you into buying a membership for $10,000+ You cannot cancel this membership. If the 10k isn't paid, it goes to collections. There is no way out. Also, the extra vacation packages and deals they sell you on are a joke. You can't just vacation anywhere at anytime like they make you believe. No, you can only go to the available package destinations on their available dates. So my brothers wedding...I paid full price for outside of paying for a 10k vacation membership that promised to get me a cheap deal. Just avoid this place. If your into giving them a lot of money for your membership, then your at the right place! Wow I guess if you camp a lot it's worth it but they sure can hook you with the "truck or $20,000" give away! Don't be fooled by the shark type salesmen here. The "boss" sits behind a see through glass mirror to see how well his men are doing at reeling in the fish for dinner. It's ridiculous, an absolute scam, basically a timeshare business. This company gets one star from my family. Corporate customer service is EXTREMELY rude and their stiff policies make enjoying the membership difficult. It all sounds great on paper but using it is AWFUL and so inconvenient. While I wish we wouldn't have signed up at all (I'll say, the salesmen are very good, very convincing), I'm glad we only got the 2 year sample membership. We will never use Outdoor Adventures again and definitely will spread the word to fellow campers. The final straw to that decision was an attempt at canceling a reservation. $50 to do so last minute. On a weekend they won't be remotely close to full, and due to an emergency with my husband's job (which I can provide them proof of), we will not physically be able to come up. Still charging us the fees. We've already paid the membership off, so we've paid more than enough to cover the space, yet they have got to get their nickels and dimes in. And the attitude I was met with on the phone was unacceptable. The manager was worse than the customer service rep. We also have had poor experiences in finding appropriate lots for our camper due to their reservation system. You can't pick the lots until you arrive, so we literally had to squeeze in to a tiny lot because they were so full. They romanticize the idea of having so many lots to choose from, but the actual implementation is horrible. It's a shame because the Lake Shore resort is beautiful and the amenities are nice. My kids love it. I would love it, too, if it wasn't a SCAM. DON'T FALL FOR THE SALES PITCH! IT'S NOT WORTH IT. I know more people who regret their memberships than who actually enjoy them. We have had our membership 5 years, and have enjoyed 3 to 4 weeks each summer at one of the many resorts. We have stayed at five different ones, and enjoyed them all but do have our favorites. We do not have a motor home but rent one of the cabins or park models. If you rent a week it's half price, so really cheap, $30 to $37 a night. I called 3 months in advance and got into one of the new cabins at Lake Shore right on the lake. Was GREAT! Very happy and not sorry we made this purchase. Will be trying the new camp ground in Ohio this fall. read more

I bought into Outdoor Adventure Resort 9 years ago. I love it a lot. We bought a fifth wheel and camped for a few years but now we rent the cabins. The fireworks are my most favorite time at LakeShore Davison MI. Overall I have raised my granddaughter with camping all summer long since she has been born. She has wonderful memories of swimming, bike riding, fires and more. Lakeshore could invest some in new shower heads as the water is very hard and the cabin we are in it is so corroded that the water pressure is pitiful. The price for the cabins are well worth the money anyway. One thing Lakeshore falls short of is security. This trip kids are jumping and diving in the pools and young kids around the age of eight are driving golf carts around the park. I talked with one man who was on the golf cart with his 12 year old letting him drive and he told me since he brought the golf cart with him he is allowed to let his grandson drive. When he hits someone or maybe a dog then maybe then something will be done about it. But overall I know all parks will have issues but the workers at Lakeshore from pulling our camper & setting it on a lot to pool girls and maintenance men everyone has a smile and are very friendly. I love my membership and would highly recommend this place. read more

My family {siblings all share} has a membership to OA but I personally do not have a camper, so we rent their cabins. Cabins themselves are decent, little expensive {$75 for a 6 person cabin which is standard family size} but ok. My issue is that you cannot book but 30 days out unless you are the primary on the membership, so making arrangements to utilize our membership is hard. There are a couple of the resorts that are nicer and more popular than others but you will never get in. I also have issue with fact that at some of the older resorts the pool is out of commission A LOT. For as much money as it cost to have a membership you would think they could afford to update the pools. They keep adding more and more cabins, or camp sites, which is great but those are useless if the amenities are out of commission. Not everyone wants to swim in a lake. My other issue is that ONLY ONE MEMBER per membership can camp at a time. You are able to list 6 people on membership but all 6 of you cannot camp at the same time. Ie.. I rent a cabin, my brother wants to get a camp site. One of us is S.O.L. So you cannot have a family gathering with aunts/uncles/cousins all camping together. read more
