Awful experience! I was so hoping this would be a great place as I really wanted to support a Sonoma local business. I guess I am not the only one who had a horrible experience recently. We bought an outdoor firebowl to replace the one we had which was burned in the 2017 fires (along with much of our property). Just getting anyone to answer calls or emails during and after placing the order was excruciating. I think that should have been a sign...but I wanted to give them a chance. And then immediately after it was set up, it did not work. Once again, I had to email and call many many times to get any sort of reply about getting it fixed. They took no responsibility for it not working (even though they were in charge of the install) and they would not even help me file a claim with the manufacturer. I even talked to the owner, Stuart, many times and even he refused to help. After many attempts, I finally tried to contact the manufacturer myself, but they said they have to deal with the supplier. So here I am many months later stuck with many repair bills, bills for new parts which I could never get covered since I got so tired of trying. I am looking to upgrade my current outdoor pizza oven and was hoping to see and learn about the available options in wood/gas fired ovens. I could not have found a better sale person than Maxx at Outdora today. He was exceptionally knowledgeable about the many ovens on the market today and presented a completely unbiased view on options. He never in any way talked poorly about other manufacturers not representative in his store. In no way was there any aggressive sales - in fact he was very considerate of my limited experience. He was extremely patient with me and spent more time explaining options and providing me literature that will go a long way in helping me make a purchase decision. I found it difficult to get my outdoor propane barbecue/grill serviced when an aged (and fortunately abandoned) mouse's nest caught fire behind the front panel. One service call just worsened the situation and others just wouldn't respond. Then I found Outdora on Napa St. just off Sonoma Square. Stewart Sager is a busy man and scheduling time with him was difficult but he came round, looked into the problem, resolved what to do with a tricky gas Y-junction (tank to grill and burner) issue, ordered the parts and had the whole thing back up and running. So recently, when I yanked out the igniter trying to change the battery (what was I thinking?) I called him again. He came round and installed the replacement part. Problem solved. Then I call and they take down my number to call me back since they are *so busy* and need to check the status of the parts, yet they never call me back. I would never trust them or recommend them. I just purchased a lynx display model from Outdora and the experience had been outstanding. After reading the other unfavorable review, I was naturally a little skeptical, but I decided to explore the deal further. I got in touch with Stuart who I think is the owner of the business. Stuart was a straight shooter and he was great throughout the whole process. He was very honest about the condition of the grill (I was worried because of the bait and switch comment by the other reviewer), and when I actually saw the grill the condition was exactly as he described. He gave me the serial number of the grill ahead of time so I could verify with Lynx on the manufacture date and warranty. He also went to the bat for me with Lynx to get some upgrades done to the grill. I finally met Stuart when I visited their showroom to see the grill. When he learned that I was in the initial planning stages of an outdoor kitchen, he spent an hour with me giving me a ton of design tips and pointers. He was genuinely passionate about this and just seemed like a great guy in general. I am not sure what the other reviewer experienced, but this is certainly not an Internet clearing house. An Internet clearing house certaintly wouldn't have invested in a showroom displaying 4 of the top brands in outdoor kitchen, with top of the line counter designs like poured concrete countertops. As for the grill that I bought from outdora, there was certainly no question that it had a verified warranty and upgrades by Lynx corporate. I would buy from Outdora again, and I would not hesitate to recommend others to do so. read more

Stopped into Outdora with the same random idea of pretending it was still summer and seeing what they could do about helping me string it along. THey were super friendly and helpful. We had plans for a complete yard renovation and were looking for a high-end built in grill. We had a Lynx at our previous home and went in search of a similar product. We found Outdora listed as a Lynx distributor. Our experience in the store was fantastic. Stuart spent about an hour with us explaining the features of several high-end grills. We found a grill that gave us more options than the Lynx. The cost was better than we expected, so we were able to purchase extra components! There was a snag with delivery, but with one phone call they happily accommodated our needs. Stuart showed us the online site. I am so disappointed with the customer service that I experienced from this business from Stuart the owner. Mason was helping us and after 2 weeks of tracking him down he got back to me to tell me (after I called again), wasn't sure of the price he quoted me a two days before. He was supposed to let me know and I waited for a response... no call back. As a business owner myself I know what it takes to tend to my customers. A mere call back would suffice. We needed a replacement cover for a fire pit that we purchased last year. The fire pit became moldy in less than a year and were looking to replace it. When I called to check on the status Stuart told me Mason wouldn't be in for two days so I asked if he could take the order for me seeing as he is the owner of the business. He then told me he had no time to deal with a fire pit cover and that he has other larger orders to fill. I love to give my business to small businesses, even though I know I can always find a better deal online. We have lived in Sonoma for 2 years and love to see small business flourish but with customer service like Stuart's of Outdora I am doing business elsewhere for a fraction of the price. My wife and I had ordered an item off of Ebay from Outdora. We paid immediately. After several days Outdora had failed to mark the item as shipped or provide any tracking information so we sent them a message. They never responded to that message. Finally after the Est. delivery date passed and still no item we opened a resolution case within Ebay and a second message was sent. Outdora failed to respond to that second message nor to Ebay in response to the open case. I called and spoke to a customer rep who informed me he would pass the message on to the warehouse rep as he may have forgotten to mark the item as shipped and they would get that taken care of. 3 days later no response, and they still have not shipped the item. Ebay now has the case under review as the waiting period is up for the seller to respond (which they haven't). Luckily I am covered by Ebay. It's a shame a business like this does not mind taking people's money and KNOWINGLY do not ship the items that someone has paid for. read more

The worst customer service I have ever seen. Was going to order some BBQ equipment online but thought it would be good to buy local and have some in person to deal with. Order a hood , BBQ and fryer 1 year ago, simple order, could have received it in about a week if I ordered online. They charged my credit card in full took for ever to get the BBQ and Fryer, never got the hood so they offered a credit. 25 E mails and about 20 calls Still have not got my $2,5000.00 credit on equipment that we never got. I needed heaters for my patio and needed some guidance on what kind to buy, how many I needed based on the layout and dimensions. I called a few stores that weren't helpful but when i found Stuart he was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We spoke twice, figured everything out, I got the heaters right on schedule, and now they are installed and they work great. One minor complaint - in order to dim the heaters or put them on a timer, I needed additional equipment totaling about $1,000, which ended up being a surprise to me. After Stuart responded to my initial Yelp review showing an interest in resolving our issue, I decided to give him a second chance. I called Outdora on 03/29/2019 and asked to speak with Stuart. He was unavailable, and the gentleman who answered the phone took my number. I called Outdora again on 04/04/2019. Stuart was there, but unavailable. Again I left my number. I called again on 04/08/2019, and this time spoke with Stuart. Mr. Sager mentioned that in order to make things right, he would sell me a new Perlick Kegerator at his cost, if I took down the Better Business Bureau complain and Yelp review. I asked if I would be credited the amount I had spent on the Kegerator that I had bought from him that was unable to cool on the inside. He asked how much that was, and when I told him, he said that no credit would be provided. When I asked him what I was supposed to do with this large non-working kegerator I had already purchased from him, he mentioned that I could get it fixed. This is ironic, because I've been trying to get it fixed for the two years I've owned it. I mentioned that purchasing a second unit from Outdora to replace the first unit that I bought from him because the first unit was Dead on Arrival does not seem like a very good resolution. He mentioned that because I had contacted the Better Business Bureau and because I left a poor review for Outdora on Yelp, this is all that he was willing to do. Buyers Beware! This is a business that is an internet clearing house. This business has a front door with pretty, shinny, new display models. The back room is not filled with new products for sale but rather a call center for internet sales. If your intent is to purchase a new product, Beware! You may believe that you are purchasing a new product, say a 2011 model, but actually receive a 2007 2008 2009 or 2010 model. The only true way to know what you are purchasing is to contact the manufacturer with the model and serial number. It is then you find out that the item you have purchased is new but is a 2000 something model and is being sold as a display model. This is when you check the fine print of your manufacturer warranty that does not cover display models. Then if you try to return the item to Outdora there is no customer service at the retail location. Outdora claims any problems are between you and the manufacturer. Your only resolution ends up in small claims court. Note ; small claims has a $5000.00 maximum limit. As far as your credit card protection, Outdora has that figured out as well and will produce for Merchant Services fictitious documents that you never see at the time of purchase, such as their no return policy. The reason Outdora has a display floor is because the manufacturer such as Lynx changed their policy on internet sales for that exact above reason. Outdora is running a sophisticated bait and switch sales scam so please beware. There are several reputable companies IE Barbeque's Galore that sell the same products without the scam. read more

Whoa...., to read the above review subsequent to my experience at OUTDORA is surreal at best.These are very, very nice, local, Sonoma people with a well run locally owned business. I purchased a Green Egg BBQ there for my vacation rental that ultimately (after several uses) we decided was too difficult for people to operate. They graciously let me return it for another gas BBQ. This new BBQ was an excellent BBQ but we decided (again after several uses), that it was just not user friendly enough for a vacation rental. I called them and they again offered to take it back. I am 66 years old man and decided that I could load this BBQ by myself into my son's truck in order to return it. To make a long story short I ended up dropping the stainless steel BBQ face down into the street. I essentially destroyed it. I called the owner and he offered to sell me another better BBQ at his cost. They certainly did not have to take the first used BBQ back, they certainly didn't have to take second used BBQ back and then after my calamity with it sell me an even better one at there costs. This is good service, followed by good service, and ending with good service. Sopping here is like shopping at a family store. This is a far better place to do business with than a near by box store or chain hardware store. This gets a 5 star plus rating in my experience............. read more
