Is it still a knick knack if it's 18 feet tall? I think what attracted me at first was the English Bulldog flopped outside in the sun, lying there, just exuding laziness. Her name is Uma. I watched her being still for a bit and then noticed the store behind her. I am generally not a fan of antique stores, as they are usually full of junk you wouldn't buy at a garage sale, but this place was pretty cool. Who needs an 18-foot iron clock face salvaged from a factory? Or a set of three gigantic heads, replicas of the David of Michelangelo? Or maybe a large tin lion from Belgium? I don't. Nobody does, I guess. But it'd be pretty cool to have a space big enough to decorate with some of the pieces here (I'm thinking the clock face for you Roy H.). Pots, some cool books, neat furniture, vases, spice pods, etc. all contribute to making this a pretty unique space. Maybe just because of its scale, but still... Inside the Cornerstone Gardens Compound, this store occupies a large barn and a yard and is just a great place to browse. Some items are actually reasonably priced, too.

Forget buying this stuff to fit in my tiny Nob Hill apartment... I'm moving in! This place is unbelievably amazing and gorgeous and when the Boyfriend and I bought a petrified wood soap dish we both cooed as the saleswoman wrapped it up and put it in a bag made out of a newspaper from some exotic Asian country. I made a solemn vow that when I make my second million, I'm going to spend every dime here. I'm going to splurge on pendant lights and distressed turquoise chairs and wooden tables fit for a King and random street signs and a miniature polkadot teacups that will be displayed on a window sill. How awesome would it be to have the owner's job of traveling around the world and bargaining for fantastic pieces of furniture and decorative accessories? This is definitely on my top ten career paths; somewhere between human rights activist and travel guide.

Hands down the best place to find really amazing salvage from all over the US and Europe. Some of the best designers in the country use this hidden treasure to find one of a kind gem. Stone fountains, amazing wrought iron, stone statues, wood doors and on and on. The owner is often on the road finding and collecting treasures from around the world, but you can often find him walking the space organizing and showing off latest finds. Defiantly a great stop when you are up in the Valley Wine Tasting!

As someone who is not a ring or jewelry wearer I wasn't sure where to begin the process of purchasing the ring I had been thinking about for many years. Lisa was incredibly helpful in guiding me in metal/gold choices, ring shapes and sizes that would look good on my hand, and cast versus die struck signets, and designs. Ultimately, I decided on a gold signet ring with a custom family coat of arms (which Lisa and I modified from images of my family crest found online). Although I was nervous about providing our own design, Lisa assured that my design was skillfully replicated in the final product and I am thrilled with the results. Working with Lisa was a pleasure. I highly recommend Lisa H Jewels without reservation. I wear my ring every day and frequently receive compliments on its uniqueness and high quality.

These were reputable organizations, but I wanted to do business with someone local for transparency. It was a blessing an on-line inquiry led me to JLS Diamonds and Jim Dinse. The auction house companies could only offer me a fraction of what I wanted for my diamond solitaire ring; less their commission, and only if they could sell it. On the contrary, Jim actually found a buyer for my ring before I even met with him; and before my ring left my possession. In fact, Jim paid me exactly what I wanted for my ring via cash transfer on the spot! Jim turned a stormy time in my life into a rainbow with a pot of gold! I could not be more grateful! One Month Later ..... I was so grateful and impressed with Jim's professionalism, honesty and integrity, I returned a month later to sell him a coin collection. I trusted Jim implicitly. Jim paid me TOP DOLLAR for it and I was actually shocked at its value.! I am definitely going to shop with JLS Diamonds and Jim Dinse FIRST for my jewelry needs before shopping retail in the future! If you are looking for a resource in this market don't even think about it; CALL JIM AT JLS DIAMONDS NOW AND MAKE AN APPT! You won't be disappointed!

The watch, which had multiple gold components including an inner cover, was discussed but ultimately folded into the overall estimate without being separately accounted for. The explanation given for its lower value focused on a "broken crystal," which does not materially affect the scrap value of a gold case, where weight and karat are the primary factors. I was paid approximately $400 for the watch. Without seeing weights or a transparent calculation, I've since found it difficult to reconcile that figure with what a multi-component 14k gold case would reasonably represent. I would strongly recommend that anyone selling gold ask to see weights and a clear breakdown before agreeing to a final price.

I was not sure what I was getting myself into or what I even wanted, but knew it would be non traditional and unique. He spent time looking at my inspiration pics and "pulled me out of the ether," regarding what was and was not feasible. Was able to use a diamond from each of my grandmothers' wedding rings. He was transparent about the cost throughout, provided education on different jewels with thoughtfulness around important specifics I would not know to ask about; ease of cleaning, shades of gold, size of my hand, finger webbing, how settings and light will impact my choices, factors that influence longevity and maintenance. He was mindful to not insert his opinion outside of the structural capacity of my ideas, despite my requests. He searched and found different stones for me to see in person, much faster than I imagined was possible. At The final appt before the ring was built, he created wax version of the ring. I was initially concerned due to size/bulkiness, though he walked me through the details of how it would look differently upon completion which put me at ease. The ring was created with subtle details that he learned through our appointments about me; he specifically balanced diamonds on the band to support straight alignment in relation to my specific finger webbing (with only measuring my ring size and eyeballing my hand), "you can go rock climbing in this thing." Overall, this was a special experience I shared with my mother and finance in my home town. I will return for cleanings and highly recommend this place. My mother also had multiple items resized and repaired with prompt and beautiful results. The entire staff was kind and personable. They engaged intermittently along the way with their past personal and professional experience with different stones, designs, jewelers... After our first visit, I was just not sure if I was on the right track in part due to my severe indecisiveness, but all visits after that confirmed this was the right place to be and I am in love with the result. My fiancé was also pleased and appreciated the level of involvement that was asked of him, lol.
