Matt was very personable and the set up they had at the salt water quarry was cool (a series of underwater platforms that you could kneel on to demonstrate the skills). The next day we did the wreck dive with Pam. Pam was very knowledgeable about the wreck site and made everyone feel comfortable. We had a mix of experience on our dive and some other teens as well. If you're relatively inexperienced at ocean diving Pam and Matt will teach you what you need to know. If you're more experienced Pam is a great guide. My son and I had a blast!

Had a great trip with Captain Dan Rooks and Deckhand Patrick on the Tuna Duck on1/5/2021. Our…read moretargeted species was an Atlantic Bluefin Tuna. Within 30 minutes of putting lines in the water, surrounded by hundreds of birds diving on bait, we hooked and landed a beautiful 68 inch Bluefin. Captain Dan handled the boat beautifully and Patrick did a great job managing the deck, harpooning the fish, as well as gaffing it and bringing it onboard. Great teamwork by captain and deckhand. With the goal of catching a bluefin accomplished, we moved to a shipwreck and were reward with a nice catch of black sea bass and a 6# Triggerfish. We decided to move to a spot where we could possibly catch King Mackerel and were rewarded with a hookup within 5 minutes of the live bait hitting the water. Dan's and Patrick's easygoing manner and professionalism made the trip completely enjoyable. These guys exceeded our expectations, put us on every fish we targeted, and frankly made it look easy. Thanks you guys for an awesome trip. I highly recommend fishing on the Tuna Duck!

Our entire crew on the Midnight Express (Captain Jerry, Dylan, & Zach) provided extensive briefing and clearly took safety and customer experience seriously, while still keeping things lighthearted and fun. They were accommodating, helpful, and made the entire time feel easy and stress-free. While we had our own gear many divers rented and the rental gear was in great condition with everything being very well organized. The boat was also excellent--clean, comfortable, and, best of all, had plenty of room to set up your gear without feeling like you were falling all over each. They had plenty of drinking water on board and water for cleaning your mask. The best touch was the freeze pops that they handed out at the conclusion of your dive day! The dives we did were great! Fun exploring the wrecks and lots of aquatic life to enjoy! Overall, a very well-run operation with a great crew, quality equipment, and a comfortable boat. I'd absolutely dive with them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, accommodating, and enjoyable dive experience. We will be back soon!

On my walk towards the dive center I passed a dive lodge so after I filled out all of my paperwork for the weekend dives I inquired about the lodge and they provided me a tour and gave me a great price. It's not 5-star, but it's pretty much perfect for your diving needs. It's right next to the dive shop, dive boat and local places to drink and eat. I'll be staying here next time I come for certain.

We did not stay at the Inn; however, we used Captain Al and his boat Mutiny II for a dive charter…read more This review is strictly on the dive charter. Due to complications with an unnamed other Dive Shop, we were forced to scramble to find a charter that would take us diving on short notice. I called Captain Al and requested for a dive charter for 2 people the following morning. He found two other divers for us so that he could have a complete charter to make the trip happen....this effort alone was far more customer service than we've received at other dive shops. The boat is large and comfortable. He limits the charters to a maximum of 6 people (including crew) so you'll have plenty of room on the boat to set up and wander around...including a large cabin with bunks for resting on after a long day in the sun. The boat is very well maintained. One of the nice things about only having 4 divers on the boat is you can pretty much request specific diving sites if conditions permit...no other charters will do this for you. Captain Al brought us to the Shurtz wreck offshore and it the conditions were so great that we decided to make both of our dives at that location. They will provide air, EAX, and weights for a small extra fee if you need it. Overall, this charter is a bit more expensive than what you can book with Discovery Diving or Olympus nearby, but the extra $$$ is well worth it if you want great service, a beautiful comfortable boat, and a captain that will take you to awesome sites offshore when the other captains will try to force you into crappy inshore sites. I WILL DEFINATELY BE USING THEM AGAIN ON MY NEXT N.C. DIVE TRIP!
