This was a great establishment for the community but now I'm happy that I can still enjoy their food over at Rocco's.

I was new to the area and I had no idea where to eat so I trusted my handy dandy Yelp app and found this awesome barbecue joint. I really liked how diverse the menu was and that they offered so many versions of a delicious cheesesteak. I settled on the brisket cheesesteak and it was impeccable. The cheesesteak was very flavorful and the bread was on point. I loved how they toasted the sub roll and included onions. The added barbecue sauce on the side was also really delicious. I also ordered the bacon, mac and cheese and it was really good, super cheesy and creamy. Additionally, I decided to give the jerk chicken wings a try and I really like them. They had a nice kick and cooked well. Heads up this location does not offer seating indoors, but you can go across the street to Rocco's and eat in there restaurant. Stopped in because I was starving and the Yelp community had good rating. They didn't disappoint. The service was awesome and the ladies had patience with me through the ordering process. No dining inside the smokehouse and they told me I could go sit at Rocco's deli across the street. I found this very odd and they ensured me it was ok so I did. No issues and come to find out there's a collaboration of business friendship passed on to patrons. My beef was a little rare for me but super good, tender and I inhaled it. Just moved here and already one of our favorites, if not our favorite food in the area. The fries are legit the best fries I may have ever had. Meats are great. Burgers were great but I think discontinued now BBQ burrito was the most shocking. Thought it may be gimmicky, but it was phenomenal. Sides are awesome and the service is top notch. Stopped by here for some bbq while I was in town. Had heard great things and this place did not disappoint. Excellent bbq with some great flavor. I ordered meat platter so I could try a few different meats. The brisket was so tender, the pork was delicious and I went for the turkey which had a great flavor to it. The Mac and cheese was so good and the wings were smoked so well that the meat easily fell right off the bone. Service here was great and the entire staff is friendly and helpful. read more

I went to Outlaw BBQ in Hampstead for the first time last week because I was on a mission to try their Apple Cranberry BBQ wings special. It was featured on the local news. Located on the main drag in Hampstead (part of Carroll County), Outlaw mainly functions as a carry out restaurant. That being said, they do have outdoor seating (pictured) weather permitting. There are no tables inside. The wings were delicious--I loved the notes of the cranberry and apple to give the bbq sauce that sweetness. With wings, you have to be careful in my opinion to not go TOO sweet. The wings were one of the favorites I've ever had. Too bad they are only a limited time offering. You have multiple options for how many wings to order; I went for the small. Ranch or Bleu Cheese is not included but is only a small extra charge. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I had no issues in regard to COVID safety. There is no dedicated parking lot but street parking is available. I wish Outlaw was closer to me but I definitely plan on returning to try the more traditional BBQ offerings. This place is delicious and I've loved everything I've tried here. The chicken wings, pulled pork & brisket are all delicious. The collards are better than the green beans, but the Mac n cheese is always a safe bet. I was not impressed with the cream of crab soup, but it was ok for a bbq place. The sides do change daily, they may have standards, but I've noticed they don't always have collards. They also have daily specials. They have a variety of BBQ sauce, I love the apple bbq sauce. Outlaw has relatively good technique but missed on the seasoning. As I got out of the car, the smell of barbecue filled the air. The staff were super friendly and I really felt welcomed. As I drove home, the smell of meat filled my car. Unfortunately, the meat wasn't super flavorful and I found myself eating because it was there and not so much because I couldn't stop. (Incidentally, that's what I'm looking for in my barbecue experience.) I don't think it was bad although others in the house might have leaned that way. My order: three meats (turkey, pulled pork, brisket) with potato salad and a half-rack of ribs. Turkey was good. Pulled pork was pretty good. Brisket was dry and bland. Ribs has a good crust but we're dry and flavorless. Potato salad was good. I'm going to have to recreate it at home for the family. The quest continues. read more

Customer Service was pretty good accept for the young man, He was pretty rude. Love this place! The food is excellent. Of course the bbq is great, but the burgers are the best around. Try the Cassell Cowboy and plan to have leftovers or be fantastically and miserably stuffed. Service has been 50/50 50% above and beyond 50% won't listen to a thing I say. Pit ham good. Pulled pork not bad if not bone dry which happens 50% of the time to me. Outlaw Cuban is decent depending on if they put pickles on it or forget and if the pork is dry or not. Smoked wings are good but do not stand up to any sauce, so would suggest you not get any other than the plain. Beer cheese dip is very very bitter Crackling is good Cream of crab is flavorful but zero flavor of crab oddly. Oddly only found 3 small pieces of crab meat in the whole bowl. Sausages are tasty from pork fat but - kielbasa - couldn't detect a hint of kielbasa seasoning. Garlic and cheese. Saw and tasted noooo cheese and tasted zero garlic. read more

I've been to Outlaw BBQ several times and it's been delicious every single visit. I've had the pulled pork and pit turkey but this time I tried the brisket cheesesteak and bacon macaroni and cheese. The brisket was juicy and tender and the sub roll was soft. Smothered in cheese and grilled onions, which added nicely to the brisket. Fries came as part of the cheesesteak meal and the serving size was massive- I struggled to finish the entire meal. Macaroni and cheese was nothing special. My husband and I came to this location after passing by numerous times. I had the BBQ burrito, my husband had the meat sampler, and wings. The BBQ burrito was awesome. Stars for super friendly service (especially the little order runner), an expansive bbq menu, and real smoke rings! ...credit to portion size too because boy oh boy do you get a portion! The kids and I split the 3 meat sampler - brisket, pulled pork, and turkey. My wife had the pit beef sandwich. We also shared some fries and the poppers. Poppers were good and they give you 6! All of the meats were smoky and tasty but overcooked and cold. We used condiments to moisten the meats. Another credit to homemade bbq sauce which was pungent but tasty -- was that blackberry jam in there? Idk but there was something fruity. Most of the customers seemed to opt for sandwiches with cheese and other additions which would help the dryness of the meat. I like the place and would return. I'd just hope for hot food next time that is not dried out and overdone. and they also forgot our beans, but we were stuffed and didn't even remember until we had left. read more

Fries were soggy a brisket a bit over cooked. Worst part was the hidden 4% charge on credit card. It is listed nowhere on website nor mentioned at checkout counter. They just take the money. I sent messages to owners about this. They basically said that people were "happy" with this way of doing business. When pressed about why no warning of the 4% junk fee they were silent. You all know my husband I are always yelping when we are looking for a new place to eat. We were in Westminster and decided that we had a taste for barbecue. So thanks to my yelp family, this place popped up and it was only about 15 minutes away so we went for it. When we arrived we were able to get a decent parking spot since there is only street parking. The staff was friendly and helpful. The first time we went we got a kids meal for our daughter, my husband got a hamburger and a brisket sub. I got 1/2 rack of ribs, the brisket sub, and the blueberry cheesecake bread pudding. According to my family members, the burgers were okay. The brisket was very dry and had to be rehydrated with a little beef broth. The ribs were good and so was the blueberry cheesecake bread pudding. Oh, we also tried their wings and they were okay, nothing to write home about. Since this was our first time, I went back the next week and decided to try some of the same menu items before I wrote my review. Again the brisket was dry and had to be rehydrated AND there was a boatload of fat on the meat (see pictures). I only took the fat off of 1/4 of the sub before I gave up and chucked it up as a loss. The ribs were good again. I tried their beef salad (chef salad with slices of beef) and that was good. It only comes with tomatoes, beef, and lettuce so if you want more fixings you will have to add them yourself. They make their own blue cheese dressing and that is good. I also got another kid's meal, but my daughter didn't like it this time (she's 5). I tasted it and it was very dry and I understood why she didn't want it. Unfortunately, they did not have any desserts and I wasn't able to get any more blueberry cheesecake bread pudding. They had just made a batch of the strawberry cheesecake bread pudding according to the owner and it was not ready because the cheesecake component of it had to sit in the fridge. I understood that, but if that is your top-selling dessert, you should always have it...IJS. I gave it 3 stars because the ribs and dessert were good, and the customer service was excellent. If I go back, I will call ahead to see if they have dessert and probably only get the ribs. If you are a police officer reading this, this would be a good spot for you because they have a gazillion badges glued on the columns and on the walls. read more

Best barbecue around, in our opinion! Mostly a carryout option only but there are a few picnic tables on the side in a small grassy area, so on nicer days you have the option of eating outside.
