Called because I sat in line in the drive-through behind one car for 15 minutes so I called to see if the drive-through was closed down wasn't rude to the man at all, but he hung up in my face and told me that that was not possible well son I looked at my phone when I pulled up and I know I can count so the rudeness was not even necessary. I will never do business with them again even though my dad did sell them that building I do not care The audacity to hang up in my face as my blood sugar was dropping is beyond me all I asked was the drive through closed. My wife and I were camping at Daingerfield State Park and decided to give Outlaw's BBQ a try. We each had the ribs and brisket plate. The ribs were good. The brisket was okay, a little bland, and definitely required adding the sauce to it. This was fine with me, because I always pour sauce on my brisket. I think Outlaw's is the only BBQ joint in Daingerfield, so they have that going for them. It was a nice little place, clean, and the cost was reasonable. While not the best BBQ restaurant I've ever been to, I would definitely return if I am in the area again. For me, that is as good a review as a restaurant can get. read more

need to make a correction, my dogs wet food smelled BETTER than this brisket! another corporation going down the tubes. they did something to their brisket recipe and it looks, smells, and tastes like dog food. no seasoning, no smoked flavor...I asked for sliced brisket and got some cubed canned dog food. it's off brown and smells just like the damn can of dog food (correction, the canned food smelled BETTER!) I just opened for my dog, looks just like it. the hell happened? my dog enjoyed it, I couldn't stand the nastiness of it but live 40 min away so not driving back to get my money back. besides, doggo deserved a good treat, bout all this brisket is good for now!!! regular sausage is still really good, ribs are still really good but for how long?! read more

Very good bar-b-que and the old movie posters are a nice touch. The only thing missing is banana pudding.

Food is good, staff is friendly, place is quiet, but VERY expensive, about $36 for 2 for lunch.

Food is Good but beware prices are higher than menu states on site 5.00 higher per lb. when I mentioned it it the employees they said "it wasn't there site" but clearly it is just update your prices please!! Thank You deducted 1 star for the pricing. read more

Their food was very good. My mother got their turkey and brisket, I got their pork and jalapeño sausage, and my little sister got their ham - all of the above were very good. With this being said, their prices seemed a bit high, but I understand that prices are going up all over, and I haven't eaten at other barbecue places in a while, so I can't say if their prices were actually high or not. read more

Very clean with a nice, small-town Texas atmosphere. Food was off the chain! I ordered very lean brisket, which was thick-cut, tender & juicy! Sauce was awesome too. Not too hot or too sweet. Lots of sides to choose from. I had cheesy potatoes and green beans, both good. My husband had ribs, beans, and an unusual broccoli/cauliflower/chunk-cheese salad, which was all smothered in ranch. Best ribs, brisket, and potato salad in east texas.

My wife and I have been coming to the Daingerfield area to RV for decades and have passed this BBQ joint so many times but never stopped. After stopping in for lunch today, we won't pass Outlaw Bar-B-Que again without stopping. As we walked up to the front door, I nodded my head, this place smells like it's going to be an awesome place for Que. They have two smokers in the back of the restaurant. Seriously, this was some of the best Bar-B-Que I've had in a long time. My wife and I both ordered the chopped beef sandwiches. The sandwiches were so packed full of beef we could barely take a bite out of them, As the beef was being chopped, I saw the heavy "smoke line" on the brisket. Outlaw's sauce is a mildly sweet bar-b-que sauce, just right. My wife just had chips but I opted for two sides, macaroni salad and cole slaw. Both of my sides were really delicious. I almost got the potato salad but the macaroni salad appealed to me. The decor is what you'd expect typical "divey" b-bar-que joint where the smoke has permeated the walls, the floor, and everything else in the building, just like I like it. Since Daingerfield is such a small town, everyone who walked in was known and called by name. The owners are super friendly and eager to please. I can't wait until we're back in the area again so I can try the ribs. They looked spectacular, falls off the bone delicious. read more

It is good East Texas BBQ for a small town. Ribs are good. It won't blow your socks off, but it is worth a stop.

outstanding bar-b-que with a wide variety of sides just as tasty. the only thing- in my humble opinion- keeping this from being right up there with the best in east texas is the sauce. they have the tangy end covered but there could be a few tweaks that would make the sauce every bit as good as the meat. just a hint of molasses might be just the trick. they could try several variations and let the customers vote on their favorite. some smoked sausage sliced up for dipping. read more

Great BBQ I had the lunch platter chopped beef sandwich and beans and peach cobbler as sides all were perfect. Wife and daughter split chicken and turkey with beans and potato salad again all good. I compare every bbq place I go eat at, to this place! I'm not too fond of the side dishes but MY GOSH THE MEAT is to die for and keeps my coming back here! Pound for pound as good as any BBQ I have had in the great state of Texas!! It is all good...brisket, sausage, RIBS, pork, turkey..... Sides are good too, regardless your choice. Price is right. Sauce is good...I like a little heat to mine, so I add a dash of their hot BBQ sauce to the regular sauce....careful not too much...it'll light you up! Personal favorite...pork ribs!!! read more

driving through town looking for the best place to eat. a few different bbq joints, some mexican, pizza, family restaurants. this place looked the best, plus had the most cars. i was not disappointed, and made sure to drive around back of the place and saw 2 large stacks of wood and a couple of smokestacks, so i knew they made their own. special of the day was chopped beef with 2 sides. i asked if i could get the sliced beef instead and they were like, why would you want that, you don't have to chew chopped as much. for some reason, until now, i used to think of chopped beef as being lower quality meat or something. but not any more. i ordered the special and the guy unwrapped a fresh piece of brisket, sliced it up and chopped if from there. mmmm good, i'd say a 1/2 lb. same slab of meet my sliced sammy would have had. sides were tasty as well: got homemade potato salad and some collard greens. this place is worth a stop, especially if you are traveling between longview and mt pleasant around lunch time. read more

Now this is E.Texas BBQ at it's best! Place doesn't look like much from the outside, until you park and open car door and the smell of the smoker wood hits you. It only gets better though once you get inside. As an adopted Texan (40yrs), I am aware that BBQ is different everywhere around Texas, but for me it's at it's peak in the piney woods. We are picky about BBQ - we have access to some *really* good BBQ - so when we were camping at Daingerfield and I read the reviews for Outlaw, I was a little skeptical. But our favorite little pizza place had been turned into a tobacco mart, so we gave Outlaws a try. Glad we did!!! I normally order sliced so I can see what I'm getting, but they chop the meat right in front of you, and you can see the guy taking the slices of meat off the brisket. $5.99 for a sandwich, and you get a LOT of meat. My husband got pinto beans and potato salad, and both were tasty. Service was super friendly even though we weren't locals. We will definitely go back. read more
