Tiny little town in Texas, a bit off the beaten path is where you will find this little gem. It reminded me of my childhood, growing up in a small town in Oklahoma. Burgers were awesome, and they had a plethora of sides to choose from. I had the sweet potato fries and my husband had the curly fries. Both were perfectly crisp and delicious! My picky daughter loved the burger, and ended her meal saying she's perfectly satisfied. Sweet tea was sweet and the fried peach pie was divine! If you have to get off 30, give this cute little place a try! One plus: the team members spent their time cleaning, greeting folks and filling table garb. Nice to see some work happening and not just standing around.

Good, home style cooking. I've been there several times and have enjoyed the BBQ sandwiches and the chicken fried steak.

If they can't smoke brisket, they wouldn't be in business so for me, it's the sides. That's what made Jojack's special for me. Yes, you can get beans. Everyone has beans. But not everyone offers broccoli salad or sweet bacony Brussels sprouts. Jojack's are delicious! Also, a tip for out-of-towners: the best thing about Texas barbecue is that brisket. I used to try to be "healthy" by ordering smoked chicken and I was always disappointed. If you want chicken, get fried somewhere else. If you want barbecue, get the brisket here (to be fair, the hubs also liked Jojack's sausage options). To be "healthy," I opted for brisket-topped loaded baked potato. The potato was baked perfectly, and even the skin was yummy. I loaded my potato myself at the condiment bar so I got exactly what I wanted (plus some tasty pickled onions AND barbecue sauce!) The decor is cute and clean with corrugated tin accents and lots of eat-in tables. They appeared to be busy at the drive-through so that's an option if you're in a hurry. Servers were friendly and efficient. Oh! And they have a wide selection of bottled beers (for your passengers at least!)

The outdoor area was awesome for the kids to play, and being in a plaza with other shops makes it an easy family stop. Now for the food plot twist. I ordered the pulled pork, ribs, and chicken. The chicken showed up ready to represent the whole team--tender, smoky, and honestly the MVP of the tray. The pulled pork, however, tasted like it had been placed into the warming tray first thing that morning and was still serving overtime by the time I got there. The ribs looked like competition BBQ, but flavor-wise they mainly introduced me to black pepper and then left the conversation. Sides review: the twice baked potatoes were seasoned well and definitely pulled their weight. The mac and cheese was okay--nothing offensive, nothing life-changing, just there for moral support. Overall, this place has a lot going for it: great service, family-friendly setup, clean atmosphere, and some real potential. But the BBQ was more of a split decision than a knockout.
