    This is "Oscar Style"!

The new owners have definitely stepped it up a notch on the decor; however, the wine list still needs some attention. The oysters on the half shell were very fresh. The lobster bisque had plenty of lobster and a perfect balance of cream. We split the 8-oz. center-cut filet; it was cooked to perfection. However, we ordered it "Oscar Style," and it came with a peppercorn sauce. When we told our waitress, she said that is not possible, I saw him put it on there. Then I got what I assume is the owner, and she told us it was served Oscar style. I know what Oscar style is, but clearly they do not, so I have attached a picture so they can see the difference between the light brown peppercorn sauce our steak was served with and a light yellow bearnaise sauce with crab. We weren't trying to get anything comped, and we left feeling very uncomfortable; to the tune, we won't be back.

Citrus seared salmon with lobster and sauce, Brussels and mashed potatoes. Delish!

Delicious and great service in a fantastic nostalgic Atmosphere! I had the salmon and an espresso martini. Both were top notch. I'll be back!

Our group had a fantastic dinner here in October 2024. Since we were a large party we opted for a buffet-style meal, which turned out to be the perfect choice. It allowed guests to sample a bit of everything offered, and the food was excellent. The wait staff was courteous, and the drink tickets significantly sped up our bar service, which we greatly appreciated. Jefferson doesn't have many restaurants that can accommodate groups as large as ours, but they did an outstanding job.

This is definitely the nicest restaurant in Jefferson! Both of the owners came by and introduced themselves, and shared some history of the building. It's an 1852 bank building and the 1890s bar was brought in from Kansas City. We started off with lobster bisque and it was awesome! It had huge chunks of lobster! Hubby had the ribeye and garlic mashed potatoes and said it was delicious. I had the pork chop, and it was also delicious and very tender. I loved the peach bourbon glaze! We finished off with the decadent pumpkin cheesecake, which was cheesecake on top of a cake layer. After dinner, we enjoyed listening to music in the back room by The Sultans, the house band. They played mostly 60s-70s rock and were a lot of fun. We really enjoyed our evening at The 1852!

    The building lmao

My best friend just graduated and we wanted to celebrate with the family with some live music. Came here and everything was going good. They were busy so we understood delays. But what I didn't understand was why they set our table next to where the band was sitting which was no walk way. So the guitar player literally had to hike his leg over the stage and rub his crotch and body against the back of my young daughter's head and shoulder. Told the owner, they moved the band and then the owner turned around and did the same thing. SMH would not recommend

Girls' day trip to Jefferson. We decided to each try a different handheld and then split them 4 ways so we could sample all of them. We had a shrimp po boy, a southern fried chicken sandwich, turkey and Brie and a east Texas Philly cheesesteak. Everything was so wonderful. The atmosphere in this place was so nostalgic. You. Need. To. Try. This. Place.

Walking up to the front door feels like stepping back in time. Wooden floors, big fireplace, and a beautiful long bar. 1852 On Austin is an inviting restaurant serving what it calls "Elevated Comfort Food." It's hard to choose between the seafood and steak selections. We went with steak and pork chops and were not disappointed. Excellent service from the friendly staff.

To be fair when we walked in there were multiple big tables just sat in front of us. Took my Midwest husband here while we were in town for fights. And he got to eat REAL grits for the first time. He ordered Chicken and Waffles, and I just ordered side of grits with Cajun gravy and soft scrambled eggs. Eggs were not soft scrambled, but somehow that is always a big ask. That did not even matter though!!! Jazz was our server and she was amazing, the food was so damn good!!! The best chicken and waffles my husband has ever had, and grits that would put my Granny's to shame. Wish I would have taken pics first... But we devoured the plates! We were able to check in and sit in our car but It was about an hour wait for a party of two we ended up getting a sampler of breakfast options, which turned out to be really good. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the cornbread waffle. It just came across really dry, not really loaded with flavor and the worst thing about the entire experience for me was plastic cutlery. The food is too rich or dense for Thin cheap cutlery either

The room was beautiful in a quiet, elegant way, thoughtfully put together, warm and welcoming. And the people... every single waitress greeted us with kindness, but Miss Tammy -- oh, she was something special. The kind of person who makes you feel like you've known her forever. So sweet, so genuine, the kind of service you don't forget. The food came out and from the very first bite, it was clear this was a place that cooks with love. The eggs, the omelet, the French toast -- everything tasted like comfort. And then there was the millionaire bacon -- perfectly caramelized with brown sugar and just a touch of chili flakes. Sweet, smoky, with a gentle heat that teased your taste buds like heaven. Absolutely unforgettable. The portions were generous in the best way, and the prices were more than fair, especially for a breakfast that leaves you full and happy. But listen... the coffee. That coffee wrapped around you like a warm blanket. And then came the meat pies -- crispy, flavorful, absolutely unforgettable. Paired with those potatoes -- golden and crisp on the outside, soft and tender on the inside -- perfectly made, just the way they should be. The owner was there today too, sitting with friends, laughing and enjoying himself, and somehow that made the place feel even more real -- like you were stepping into a slice of everyday life, not just a restaurant. If you're looking for a true southern breakfast, a place with heart, warmth, and soul -- this is it. This is where you go when you want to feel something, not just eat. We'll be back. Without a doubt. And Miss Tammy -- thank you. You made the day brighter than you know.

Ordered our food at that time. We checked in at the 40 minute mark and come to find out that our food still wasn't ready. Apparently the waiter put the order in on the wrong name - so that had to be fixed. And then when it was fixed they had a large party in front of ours that needed to be prepared first before ours. Needless to say we have now been sitting in this restaurant for over an hour with a cup of coffee and no food. If you want a quick breakfast spot, this is not the place. I would not recommend coming here with children because I cannot imagine them waiting patiently for an hour for breakfast. I have yet to receive our food even after writing this long review. But any place where you have to wait this long to get some eggs and a pancake I cannot recommend.
