Dr. Ouyang does not disappoint. Went to him with painful plantar fasciitis about three months after receiving the corticosteroid shot in the sole of my foot. Been here twice. The first time I went there was because I could hardly move my right shoulder. I have a labor intensive job as a driver so I think it must've been caused by something I did at work. One of Dr. Ouyang's staff gave a massage after informing her of what my problem was. She concentrated solely on my right shoulder and also massaged my back a lil bit. I thought nothing of it like it was just a regular massage, but when I got in my car was when I immediately noticed the difference. My shoulder worked! I was able to grab the seatbelt without any pain.! Second time around was for pain on my side/back. Dr Ouyang gave me acupuncture and also did cupping. I wasn't able to step upstairs beforehand and was able to do so afterwards. There's still some pain day after but I am much better as a result of the treatment. I diagnosed with stage III breast cancer since April 2016. I was undergone chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery. After my second chemo cycle, I had a side effect from the chemo drug, a severe inflammation of my right hip bone. The pain used to wake me up in middle of the night. I could not bend down. I could not tide my shoe lace. I could not wear sock. I was limping. I tolerated the pain for the pass two years. My oncology doctor only prescribed me pain killer for my sleep. Guang Ouyang is incredible at pain management and I would even say as a healer. I began seeing him 4 months ago due to neck and upper back pain and numbness in my right hand. I was diagnosed with scoliosis 4+ decades ago and unfortunately, have not done exercises to strengthen my muscles on my right side of my body all these years. 1.5 years ago, my right hand went numb and I was frightened that I was having a stroke. The good news is that is was discovered by MRI that it was not a stroke but rather my C5/C6 disk is thin and a bone spur was putting pressure on a nerve. An orthopedic surgeon advised I may need invasive surgery after recommended cervical steroid injections. I chose to try swimming instead last summer which helped but then got busy with life. I thought I looked rather trim and fit. Masking the funny little pains, particularly in my neck and knee, which slowed down my walking around and up stairs. Dr. Ouyang did a little needle work on my leg; assessed me visually as I followed him in doing a few exercises; asked me a few questions about where, when and what I was doing when the twinges of pain occurred or my movement was restricted. He explained that my "core" was weak and must be strengthened. Then more exercises would be added to strengthen areas like my knees and feet and hands. Well we have been doing that with the simplest of exercises that have increased my flexibility. Dr. Ouyang explains and shows points all over your body where acupressure can be applied to help increase flexibility an reduce the blockages that might cause pain or limit movement. It is a total or more holistic approach which I plan to couple with more attention to what I eat. A few times he actually use his own hands and strength to help you stretch and no pain. Feel pain and you stop the exercise. Takes time to build the strength. Six visits to the clinic. One I feel better doing the exercises - great to do everyday, but look forward to going to his clinic to show progress and learn to do more. Two, the annoying little pain in my knee is gone and I stopped triggering the pain in my neck as well as the simplest acupressure to loosen it up. Third, definite improvement in my balance, which is a surprise. Four, my friends have noted the improvement in my posture and carry.
