Food is good. Coffee is ok. prices are ok but a little high. We ordered two breakfast bagels an arepa, and beef empanadas as well as two coffees. Out of everything we had, the empanadas were the best! They felt like a warm hug! The spicy sauce that came with it was fantastic and they were just delicious! Bagels were good. We substituted the bacon with turkey and removed the lettuce just in case. They were pretty filling but a little soggy by the time they got home. Arepa was tasty and not too sweet. Coffee was just ok. We ordered two cafe con leche, one with regular milk and one with almond milk. Even though it was ordered extra hot, it was cold by the time my husband got home and we are only about 20 min away. I was hoping for something a little extra special seeing that they source their coffee straight from Colombia. Note: order your food before your order the coffee. They are handled separately and coffee was ready way before the food. With tip, we paid just under $60. read more

Cute little Colombian cafe in downtown Tempe. The decor is beautiful on the inside, with plenty of seating as well. I ordered the arepa topped with guacamole and scrambled eggs and a mango pineapple Fresca. The Fresca was so refreshing! And the arepa was fresh and tasty as well. Very authentic and local. The service was quick and attentive. It's important to note the bathroom is not in the restaurant, it's about a block up. And there's also covered outdoor seating. Worth trying if you're in the area. read more

Cafetal coffee is located near/within the ASU campus. The shop has a calm atmosphere that makes it a great spot for studying, work meetings, hangouts, etc... The baristas are super nice and provide great recommendations. They are also extremely quick with making drinks, so if you are in-between classes or on your way to work this is the place for you! I have came to Cafetal Coffee multiple times, and I have always had a great experience. This time I ordered a hot mocha with pistachio and oatmilk. The coffee was delicious and I even got a cute design! The mocha was rich tasting, but not too over powering. The pistachio tasted like pistachio and it complimented the mocha extremely well. Overall this was a great visit, and I recommend everyone check out this shop! read more

What a sweet, family-owned coffee shop bringing a taste of Colombia to Tempe! It's conveniently located near ASU campus and Mill Ave., just 3 blocks away from where we stayed at The Westin. I stopped in on a Monday morning for lattes. Delicious. Wish we stopped here every day of our visit - next time! Wanted to purchase their espresso beans but they were sold out. Loved the pink/peach interior with plenty of tables/seats. Besides coffee drinks, they sell breakfast and lunch items including empanadas and arepas. One of my favorite coffee spots in Tempe! The quality of the espresso is top notch, and the service is truly unmatched. I appreciate when the staff goes the extra mile to ask you about your day with genuine curiosity. The interior is beautiful and there's a decent amount of seating inside and out to catch up with a friend, or even get some work done as it's conveniently located near ASU. Love all the unique drink combos that Cafetal has. My personal favorite is the arroz con leche latte! I was really looking forward to the fall menu but they were sadly out of the syrup. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and they have an area with board games so it's a great spot to come in with friends or solo to get work done. They have outdoor seating too! The baristas are always kind and the space is always clean even during a rush. Definitely a great spot in Tempe but keep in mind that it's right on campus so you will get traffic during school hours & there isn't a designated parking area. read more

Love this place! We stopped by for some coffee and a quick bite on Saturday around 1pm and the dining area was pretty busy. The cashier was friendly and approachable. The cashier took my sisters order first while I looked over the menu. My sister ordered a cheese arepa and a small iced cinnamon latte. I ordered the beef empanadas and a small iced arroz con leche latte. The lattes came out first. My arroz con leche latte was a little on the sweeter side so I let the ice melt a bit. My sisters cinnamon latte was really good, no too sweet - just right. The food was yummy. The cheese arepa came out hot, cheesy, and the masa had a good taste to it. The beef empanadas were my favorite. The outside had a nice crisp to them and the inside was super hot. I ate mine with the chipotle mayo and mmmmm chefs kiss. The inside is nicely decorated and the music was lit. Cant wait to come back! read more

Forgot to post this up previously, but I love Cafetal. It's right across from campus and is a quick walk to get a nice cup of coffee. I like to try their changing seasonal menu, as they always have great offerings. This past fall they had the Maple Pecan Latte, and that was such a nice treat for the holiday season. I need to go back soon to see what they have for spring. My other classmates have talked about how this is one of our favorite coffee joints close to ASU. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming, the interior has a nice, calming vibe, and as a landscape architecture student...I love seeing all the little propagated plants on the tables. What a great spot! The owners were so sweet when I stopped in- super welcoming. The coffee was delicious. High quality, hand crafted flavors, and not over watered/milked down (i had an iced latte). They have a casual shop right on asu campus, so they can get busy. And you have to park in a paid parking garage nearby. So that's not the most convenient. But if you happen to be near by... stop here. read more

Great little coffee chop! Really cute vibes, loved the green velvet seats! The staff were really nice! They are hard workers! We went after church so they were busy, but that's okay because our drinks came really fast after we ordered. The iced coffee was delicious! It was not bitter at all and the banana iced coffee was not too sweet and had a great hint of banana. They have plenty of alternatives milk options here as well! We also tried the lemonade which was delicious! The lemonade was not too sweet and a refreshing drink for a hot day! They have some breakfast sandwich and pastry options here as well! Great coffee spot! Parking is kind of limited unless you park in the parking garage right next door and pay or go to mass at the Newman Center All Saints Catholic Church and stop by for coffee afterwards. They had a lot of great food options! The coffee and lemonade were great, not too sweet and the lemonade was refreshing. The girls at the front were rockstars! It seemed like there were only two of them taking orders, making coffee and food. The place inside is nice and cute with a mix of tables and couches, with available outside seating as well. I love Cafetal Coffee! From the cutest vibes to the delicious coffee, this cafe is the perfect place to charge up and get some work done. There are plenty of cute tables inside and out for small groups to sit and chat. This shop is adorable with pink everywhere and tropical plants as decor. I asked the cashier what she recommended for coffee, she went with the Dulce de leche latte, which was amazing! It was so sweet but still lets you enjoy the taste of the coffee. I don't usually write reviews, but this place honestly earned one. I stopped in just hoping for a decent chai latte, and somehow walked out with the best one I've ever had--and I say that as a full-blown chai connoisseur. Shirley deserves a whole paragraph of her own because she truly made the experience. From the moment I walked up to the counter she greeted me with the kind of genuine, bright smile that instantly changes your whole mood. She has this effortless warmth about her, like she actually sees the person in front of her instead of just another order to get through. You can tell she takes real pride in what she does--asking how I liked my chai, talking about the spices, and making the whole interaction feel personal instead of rushed. It's rare to meet someone who mixes professionalism with such natural kindness, and she honestly turned a simple coffee stop into the highlight of my day. Beautiful soul, beautiful energy, and clearly someone who cares about her craft and her customers. And the chai was incredible--perfect balance of spice and sweetness, creamy without being heavy. The owner took the time to read my review & comment on it. She asked me to follow up with her via email & I did. I shared my experience in greater detail & we realized that it was a 'one off'. Based on the exemplary customer service that I witnessed for others & the likelihood that my group was unexpected, it's likely that no other customers will miss out on their food orders. I wanted to like it... great ambiance, good prices, delicious coffee, nice staff. Why 2 stars? I was with a group, but arrived early to order my breakfast sandwich before the crowd. My coworker and I were in need of a good pick me up when we came across Cafetal. We've never tried it and heard people talk about it. We walked over and it had a good chunk of people there, including students, which is always a good sign! Once we walked in it was very cozy and modern. Lots of seats to choose from including tables you can work at. The staff were very nice and also quick getting orders out although it was pretty busy! They offer a good little selection of baked goods and food. I got a muffin which was delicious. I also got their iced dark chocolate cocoa specialty drink and this was great! I had their regular cold brew with a splash of cream and a Sunrise Sandwich- both were so good! The cold brew had a lovely aftertaste that in my opinion, reminded me of dark chocolate and whiskey. Service was also fantastic- the lovely barista was thorough in her explanations of each cold coffee option to help me find what I was looking for! My sandwich was also lovely- the Sunrise Sandwich on an Everything Bagel is easily my favorite breakfast sandwich in Tempe. The Basil Pesto adds a bit of freshness to an otherwise very rich sandwich. Also stopped in a few more times on my evening walks for a Lavender Haze (seasonal earl grey sage honey drink: EXCELLENT!) and their seasonal energy drink- it was a Sunset Spritz (energy with grapefruit pink cordial): both delicious. Happy to say service has improved greatly. Employees are on task and happy to answer my questions. The drinks on the seasonal menu are very good, and their classics are also great. If you're going to go soon, I'm a big fan of the Sage honey and a big fan of the cordial syrup on the 2026 Spring Menu. Will definitely be hitting Infusion up for some future study sessions. I had a wonderful time at this coffee shop, which serves some of the best coffee in Arizona. The shop has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with comfortable seating and friendly staff. I ordered the Arozz con leche latte, which is a Mexican style rice pudding flavored latte. It was creamy, sweet, and aromatic, with a hint of cinnamon. It was one of the most delicious lattes I have ever tasted. I highly recommend this drink to anyone who loves coffee and dessert. My sandwich was also lovely- the Sunrise Sandwich on an Everything Bagel is easily my favorite breakfast sandwich in Tempe. The Basil Pesto adds a bit of freshness to an otherwise very rich sandwich. Also stopped in a few more times on my evening walks for a Lavender Haze (seasonal earl grey sage honey drink: EXCELLENT!) and their seasonal energy drink- it was a Sunset Spritz (energy with grapefruit pink cordial): both delicious. Happy to say service has improved greatly. Employees are on task and happy to answer my questions. The drinks on the seasonal menu are very good, and their classics are also great. If you're going to go soon, I'm a big fan of the Sage honey and a big fan of the cordial syrup on the 2026 Spring Menu. Will definitely be hitting Infusion up for some future study sessions.
