I contacted the salon and they don't seem to have an issue with the staff laughing at and making fun of customers. Very unprofessional and childish behavior. I was there Saturday! Went and got a full all over foil highlight, style, cut, reconstructive conditioning, blow dry and two products to take home. Spent $225. (I have very long hair) My hair dresser was amazing, Kaitlyn. I was there for 4 hours and the time didn't drag on like it normally does. I am normally very picky and don't get my hair done ever because I never have the extra money and I hate thinking there's a chance I can spend all that money and then hate it! Kaitlyn communicated with me the whole time, told me what she was doing, made sure I was reassured and helped me pick out products to help with my dry hair. The other ladies were friendly and made it feel like a really laid back environment. Everyone made it more of a relaxing environment then any salon I've been too. I will definitely be back. I almost left when I first got there because my appt was at 10 am and no one was there at 9:55 when I arrived even though the hours said 9 am. So glad I didn't! If there was a possible way to give negative stars, I would. This salon maybe be beautiful on the inside, but the manager/owner is one of the most cold hearted, dishonest, greedy bullies you'd ever come into contact with, in this industry. Her name is Teresa. She not only verbally assaulted me via a phone call, but she harassed me and threatened me. I was quoted a price by one stylist, another stylist provided the service- and Theresa felt the need to harass me the next day over a phone call, refused to have a conversation with me regarding the services, insinuated that I "made her stylist feel uncomfortable " (because I was blinded slided by the price- considering it was almost TRIPLE what they originally quoted me, then threaten to call the police on me for non-payment (EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TWO RECEIPTS SHOWING I PAID THE $100 deposit plus the additional charges they added to my bill). SHE hates the police yet tries to use them to her advantage. I also have text messages between myself and her stylist (the provided the services) stating "there was a confusion and...... no worries..... I hope you love your hair". It's a shame that this was my first experience at this salon and I WILL NEVER RETURN. There are way better salons in Downtown Minooka that have been recommended to me buy "others" she has done this to. I almost never review salon's because I've never actually found one that I have returned to more than once. That is until Over the Moon opened! I love this place! The prices are so reasonable and the stylists are FANTASTIC!! I've been four times now and always see the same girl, Stephanie - who I highly recommend! She listens to what you want and makes sure you are satisfied before you leave. My hair has never looked better. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming. They do take walk-ins but I would recommend calling ahead because it seems to get busy at times. Its a local business that I hope will be here for a long time to come! read more

Had an appointment to get my hair colored. When I arrived, my appointment was mysteriously deleted. Instead of staying to honor my appointment my stylust recommended another stylist. I agreed based on her recommendation. I asked for my black roots to be touched up and to have some peek-a-boos of rose gold. I got yellow brassy highlights. I was there 4 hours. Paid $128 and hate my hair! I called to get it corrected but the owner was rude, obnoxious and very unprofessional. I never recieved a call back for an appointment. I shared my story on FB with pictures and the owner proceeded to lie and argue as well as attack my friends and family that commented. I would never recommend anyone to go to this place. Went here on the recommendation of friends. Salon is clean and well decorated. As a first time customer, I can say they missed out on my repeat business. Stylist was not very conversational. I engaged to see if she would recommend other additional services, asked a lot of questions to try to get some more information and was met with quiet. Stylist was more engaged with the neighboring stylist and client. Asked about a manicure as well and nail technician was out for the day, another missed opportunity. I really wanted to like this place and have a great salon experience, but alas it fell very short of expectation. I should have visited Great Clips and patronized their friendly staff instead and saved a few dollars. Was not very happy with my simple haircut as well. Will not be returning. read more

This salon doesn't understand the meaning of customer service. They lied to me and botched my hair. The staff talked bad about the owner I was scared to go to her to fix it. I called her to tell her about it and she didn't even give me a chance to tell my side and agreed with what the stylist did 100%. She didn't even care what happened. How can she run a business like that? The atmosphere was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I couldn't even ask about a refund when the owner was already acting like what happened was my fault. I wanted my hair to have highlights. It went from blonde to a horrible copper red! There wasn't highlights at all. There was no deep conditioning that the stylist said she did. Oh no, what happened to your hair? Word's you don't want to hear after you spend 200$ getting it done. The first time I came here for a cut, I liked it, although in my defense it was only a trim off the ends. The music playing in the background had an obscene amount of bad language and inappropriate in general. Every sentence that left my mouth was a opportunity for the technician to try and sell another product to me. Every time I was asked which product I used I was told it was pretty much the worst thing ever invented. Half the things I use I purchased at the salon. I left hoping I was just freaking out in my head and I could fix it, with the right style at home because I didn't want to think that after 4 1/2 hours , and a tension headache later it was all for nothing. Turns out it was as it seemed, my hair looks like what can best be described as a HORSES TAIL THAT A KINDERGARTNER WEARING A BLINDFOLD WAS TOLD TO GO TO TOWN ON. I love Kaitlyn, she is the only reason my girls and I come to this salon. Due to an unfortunate event I will have to stop going to her because of someone else's mistake and the owners bad attitude My daughter went there recently for an eyebrow waxing and walked away with skin ripped off both her eyelids. When I called to complain Theresa blamed it on her sensitive skin and assured me they put aloe on it. When I challenged that it clearly was in an area that should not have been waxed, she told me it happens and refused to take blame for the mistake. I wasn't asking for money back, just an acknowledgment they messed up and would train the employees properly so it doesn't happen again. My daughter eyelids are raw and will eventually scab over and be sores for a few weeks until it heals. I have always felt Theresa had poor customer service skills; she is loud, rude and obnoxious. I have always dealt with it because of the amazing things Kaitlyn does for us. It's a shame I have to walk away from her because of the poor service by another team member and Theresa lack of accountability and constant shitty attitude. read more

I just wanted to share my experience with Over the Moon hair salon in Channahon so that hopefully, I can save someone else from the experience I had. Friday, I called to schedule an appointment to get my hair cut. I mentioned that I had a stylist who I liked and was wanting an appt for Friday night or Saturday, but was willing to wait to get an appt. I was told by the owner that they were pretty booked and she could schedule me with someone else. And that she wouldn't hire anyone who didn't know what they were doing. Since the time worked well for my family and I- I did it. I wanted highlights and a cut. The stylist ended up touching up my roots, without telling me she was going to do it. I did get highlights, but not many and only in my part-it was not what I wanted or expected. Then came the haircut...The sun was setting, there were no blinds, so the stylist couldn't see neither could I. The shocker was the bill, $78 for color (that I didn't ask for) and $65 for highlights that are only seen if my hair is parted a specific way. Once I got home I realized how uneven the cut was. Since the stylist only colored my roots, it is evident where she colored and what was not colored. I called the salon Saturday and the receptionist told me the owner would call me back in 48 hours because she was a big cornfest supporter and would not be around that weekend. So I waited around Monday for her to call and tried calling with no answer. I realized they were closed on Monday. So after three days of being upset to the point of tears, I showed up at the salon Tuesday at 10:15. Teresa the owner was with a client, I said I would wait to speak with her. After 10 minutes of waiting another customer walked in who was waiting for her to get a haircut. At that point she said that she was busy and asked me to schedule an appt to speak with her. At this point I was really upset and told her that according to her receptionist I had an appt for yesterday since she told him she would call me in 48 hours. I told her I really just wanted a refund for my experience and had some pictures to show her. She of course told me she would schedule a time to fix my hair, which would require me to pay for a babysitter since it was not a convenient time for me. Apparently, you need to work around their schedules. I told her that I would be sharing my very awful experience, and she just said okay that's fine. They already have my money and from what I have heard from others, she only cares about the money and not her customers satisfaction. I will never go back to this salon and urge others to save their money and learn from my experience. I am out $153 + tip and will need to find time and spend more money to go somewhere else to get my hair fixed. read more
