a sign for overflow drive thru

What a nice little coffee shack! Very modern looking exterior, particularly when compared to the usual parking lot drive-thru kiosks. I also like their philanthropic efforts in donating excess profits to missions and charities. Very cool pay-it-forward purpose. We ordered a chai latte, an Americano, and a child's steamer. My chai latte was excellent--not too sweet and they had soy milk as an alternative, so that was a bonus. Hubby's americano was good, decent flavor and body. The child's steamer was the perfect temp for our little one. So all in all, the drinks were good and what we were expecting. My only pause was regarding sanitization protocols given the COVID pandemic reaching red and purple again for almost all of California. They had two gals working and I am ASSUMING one was preparing all the drinks while the other interacted with customers and took payments. But we watched the window worker grab bare hands with the customer in front of us and chat for a bit without her mask on, and that was a bit unnerving. Also, we payed by card and had to handle a clipboard and pen to sign our receipt. Contact less payment would have been appreciated, especially since I never saw the gal at the window sanitize her hands while handling the pen, clipboard, cash from the previous customer, handshake, and then handled all of our drink cups from the top. Granted, I could have missed it. Maybe there was sanitizer there below the sil and I just didn't see, but that was a bit disconcerting. Maybe give her disposable gloves when handling the drinks. Or have the barista put the drinks in a carrier for passing through the window?

This place is amazing. I had heard good reviews so while my son from Chicago was here visiting, we decided to check it out. Chelsea was adorable and very sweet. The prices were fair and the drinks were delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Very unique and special to have a drive thru to grab a quick cup of coffee or a milkshake and ice drink on the hot summer days.

This little hidden gem is so awesome! I'm staying at the Skylark nextdoor…read more Yesterday, I had a grilled sandwich, filled with brie cheese, thinly-sliced apples, and this yummy fig jam. It came with a HUGE side of potato salad that reminded me of my mom's ~ overall deliciousness. Today, I had a delicious eggs Benedict with a generous helping of country potatoes. I'm going to breakfast there tomorrow, too. The owners/waitstaff are lovely, cheerful, and friendly. The cafe is clean, prices are reasonable, AND they filter the chlorine from the drinking water ~ another plus! So far, the food has been above 'average', presents well upon serving, hitting the bells on color, texture, AND taste. Try it; I don't believe you'll have ANY regrets... Next day: Had the Mom's Omelet but requested Monterrey Jack cheese instead of Swiss. AGAIN, got fed a healthy, nutritious breakfast. I'm really impressed with this very welcoming and happy place. Coffee is good and they refilled my thermos with their filtered water, not available next door. I'll probably hit them up for a meal before I head back to Grass Valley tomorrow. Great go-to for a nice meal

Breakfast one morning while in town, the cafe was within walking distance of where we were staying…read moreso we walked. A small old school diner. A busy locals spot, we were not greeted walking in but grabbed a table and someone came over with menus a few minutes later and asked if we wanted coffee. About five or so minutes later another person stopped by our table to take our order. Our food arrived timely enough but was literally dropped off by another person with no interaction. Paper menus were well used. After looking it over I went for the Dads favorite omelet, with applewood smoked chicken sausage, mushrooms and onions, jack and cheddar. Hashbrowns and toast on the side. A big breakfast, it was okay and met my needs that morning but just okay. Not the most friendly folks, no hello walking in and no thanks or good bye going out. It is what it is but it does effect my returning. 3.5 Stars rounded down for the non effort 01201

ZERO STARS!!!My first time visiting this coffee shop was 4 years ago. And it was great. We went…read moreback today and had our best friends with us, excited to show them a really neat and eclectic coffee shop. That is NOT what we found. When we walked up the once cute landscaping on their patio area was unkempt and cluttered with old motorcycle parts. Walking in I immediately noticed the lack of cleanliness. There is just clutter everywhere. And it was covered in dust and grime. There are three tables in the place. Two of which were being taken up by people that weren't actually eating or drinking anything. The other table had a dusty Christmas tree sitting on it with no space to be used as a dining table. One of the workers was I guess just kind of hanging out with those people and the other worker was standing at the register. What I'm getting at is, neither worker was actively making anything for anyone that was currently taking up dining space for actual patrons. The space was so cluttered with stuff you would have thought it might be someone's storage space instead of a restaurant. The whole atmosphere of the place was just gross. I needed to use the bathroom as we were on an 8 hour road trip home. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. There was no soap in the bathroom and the sink and toilet looked like they had never been cleaned. I live by a rule I learned from watching Gordon Ramsey. If the bathroom of a dining establishment isn't kept clean the kitchen won't be either. This rule has served me pretty well I think. And this place was screaming food poisoning central. The two that worked there seemed nice enough but the pride they have for the place is completely absent. The menu they have in place looks good, but the cleanliness of the place completely ruined it for us. We decided not to eat. We still needed a stretch of the legs before getting back on the road so we were going to enjoy some fresh air outside on the patio. We couldn't even do that because it smelled like pee. And there was bird poop all over the tables. I really love to see quirky and eclectic places succeed, but this place has lost its pizzazz and needs to be closed down. How the health department hasn't done this yet is beyond me.

The cutest spot! My parents recently moved to Cloverdale and I've been exploring their new town…read morewith them the last few days. We came in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and they were definitely busy with a line out the door. Despite the crowd, all the staff members were welcoming and kind. No one seemed flustered or made us feel rushed. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a piece of apple crumb bread (gf), loaded cheesy toast with avocado, a peluche (stuffed crispy roll), and our coffees. My mom and I each had a lavender latte with oat milk. These were awesome! Rich and smooth with a hint of lavender, not overly sweet at all. My dad had a mocha that was also very tasty. The loaded cheesy toast was delicious and the presentation was better than what you get at most boutique cafes in SF or LA. The almond pesto absolutely makes this dish and the spicy mayo drizzle on top is the perfect kick to complement the melty cheese and creamy avocado. The peluche was very good as well-- flaky, crispy outside with roasted potatoes, scrambled egg, and cheese in the middle. You never know if the food is going to meet your expectations when a kitchen is busy on a weekend morning, but it was all tasty and nicely presented. Apple crumble was also stellar! This is the kind of local coffee shop everyone hopes to have in their hometown. Will definitely be going back here with my parents whenever I'm in town for a visit! :)

The Cinnabang is a house specialty drink with espresso, sweetened condensed milk and cinnamon. (The Bangkok is apparently very similar, but without the cinnamon, which I enjoyed.) Now, I love blueberry muffins in general, but this one was next level! It was packed with fruit and, while I'd recommend at least one wet wipe or napkin, it's worth the mess. I had to check and, sure enough, they make them in house, like all of their baked goods. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and a generous portion, obviously still fresh. While I didn't catch the staff's names, they were all friendly, helpful and welcoming. The place felt warm and inviting, yet unpretentious. I hadn't been to downtown Cloverdale since my childhood, but this brief visit made me want to return soon! Charm and comfort food with reasonable prices too! Yes please! The whole block where Plank is located has boutiques and restaurants. Lots to see and explore and worth return visits.
