Bob diagnosed the problem and when he didn't have the part made sure I could get the Lawn Tractor out before he left. GOOD INTEGRITY Everyone makes mistakes. It's what makes us human. Unfortunately, not everyone takes responsibility for their mistakes, but Overhead Door did. They installed 3 beautiful garage doors on our garage just before Christmas. One of them had an issue and, without hesitation, they sent a technician out to fix it, on Christmas Eve no less. Sadly, the same issue came up again and they quickly sent another technician. Super sadly, the same issue happened a third time and that's when they decided to replace the door. POOR INSTALLATION FOLLOWED BY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE Overhead Door Company installed our two garage doors. About six months after installation some of the frames around the windows on both doors would stick out a little. We would just push them back in and they would be fine for a while. We figured it was because of the extreme cold weather. After several years of dealing with this, the glass fell out of one window. I called the company and set an appointment to have someone LOOK at the door before we left on vacation. They were kind enough to fit us in. The repair person arrived more than a half hour earlier then our appointed time, (when we weren't home) entered our garage, did the work without our approval, and left a bill. ($140 to replace one frame of glass) When I was inspecting the work, I noticed all the windows now have screws in them. I realized that when they first installed the doors they never screwed in the window frames. I called them to discuss this. I was bounced around between several people, was told someone would call me back. When he called me back, he said that the door was not designed to be screwed in that is why it didn't have screws. I asked why did the frames come with screw holes? His tone became hostile as he gave me a none answer. I said I understand this is many years later but it clearly was caused because the screws were never installed. He quickly became angry and threatened to come remove the glass and screws if I didn't pay. After his threat, I asked to speak to the owner. The owner called me back several hours later. No apology for their mistakes and blamed me for not catching their poor installation sooner. He said he would call me back when he decided what to do. If I could give them -5 stars I would. I first called Overhead Door of Rutland as my dad has used them in the past. I was told that I live in the Burlington area and that I had to call them. What a farce. The first phone number I tried went straight to voicemail. The second number was answered by a female who, when I gave her the information on the make/model of my opener said, "We don't handle those. Find someone else." Really? REALLY?? I asked if there was anyone that DID handle the unit I have and the person didn't know. When I pressed her, I was told there might be someone in the Burlington area. I asked who and they VERY grudgingly gave me the name Limoge. Don't bother calling Overhead Door of Burlington. They clearly don't want business and don't believe in customer service. read more

This review is regarding their customer service prior to the service (which never happened). I needed a repair on a garage door. I called them to schedule service. Instead of scheduling an appointment they said someone would call back to schedule an appointment. This should have been my first indication that either they have an antiquated scheduling system or they don't care about their customer's time. Why can't they just schedule an appointment? A few days later I received a call from them dictating a time and date...not asking me what worked for me. Telling me when they could come out. Unfortunately the time available did not work for me. They were unable to schedule a time that worked for me (and them) and said someone would call me back to reschedule. See a pattern here? Over a week went by and no one called. Today I decided I just needed to get the repair done. I called another garage door company (Limoge & Sons) and they were able to come out same day. I really should have just gone with them in the first place. They were quick, friendly and reasonable. What a giant waste of time it was trying to give Overhead Door my business. It's obvious that the customer isn't a priority based on how they operate their business. read more

Ever since I began the process of repairing my garage door, I have had to call Overhead Door to find out what happens next, they have never called me. Today was the date they were supposed to fix the door and no one showed up. I did not receive a phone call to give me a heads up, or to re-schedule, or apologize. Nothing. Not only that, I called them and told them I had forgotten to leave a check, so I gave them my debit card! And then they never showed. They now have the full amount, paid in full. I am not impressed. If you can, find another company. Like another review said, "This is no way to run a business!" read more

Do not expect after sale service from this company. Very frustrated with this company. My Overhead Door installed garage door needed service and when I called, I was told I could request a service appointment but they would not schedule it for a specific day. The door is on a vacation home so I would need to plan a trip to the house to meet the service rep. So I requested two dates when I would be in Vermont and today was one if them. I arrived at the house today as I had no call from their scheduler to tell me that they would not be coming or even a call to tell me that they would not come unless they had other work in the area. When I called them, they told me that they did not commit in advance and would not be coming on either of my requested dates. Fine time to find this out. They do not respond, or return calls. Terrible customer service disqualifies them from future sales. read more

Dan came out to our house today and did a great job not only installing the new garage door opener, but also explaining the components and the warranty. He was also friendly and professional. On 8/12/15 I purchased a garage door from Overhead Door Co. of Burlington, VT. It was installed on 8/28/15 at which time the installer noted there was a defective panel and seal on the door. He stated it would take 2 weeks to get the replacement parts and fix the problems. The company immediately charged my credit card for the full amount of $1,370. For three months I have followed-up every two weeks with this company, and have been lied to consistently, and nothing has been done. The company blames the manufacturer, blames their guy who did the installation, and then apologizes for their incompetence. The company should not be in business. Do yourself a favor and find another garage door company with which to do business. read more

Very skeptical that my garage door would be fixed based on previous reviews. I did have to call after being told the scheduler would call me back, and wasn't convinced that someone would actually show up when they said they would. However, Tim came to my house as expected and provided exceptional service. He was knowledgable about the product and provided insight as to what was happening with my door. They installed our garage door ten years ago. When it would not open as usual I called them, had to leave a message. They did not call back. Repeated efforts over the next week to get them to call back went unanswered. They were completely unhelpful. This is no way to run a business! read more

We had contacted Overhead Door Co. about upgrading an existing door that they had put in 15 years ago. We needed the door and opening higher because of a new vehicle. Called them up and they sent a service person to look at what we had..(They could not find our original order.) The service person just kept saying you can't do this and you can't do that. Finally we came up with how we could raise the opening by 3" I talked to the sales person Eric to finalize the order, who said they would get me a quote in several days. A week goes by and nothing.. I call the office, and the receptionist put me through to his phone, and all I got was his voicemail, I kept calling to try to get a quote for over two weeks more.. Nothing.. I talked to the receptionist who seemed nice, and told her. If he doesn't want my business fine, just tell me.. She said they were very busy and wanted our business. After several more days I called a company out of Montpelier Vt. The owner of the company came out and had several ideas on how to make our door bigger. We got a quote in several days and they are doing the door. Overhead Door lost our business for good and I will recommend the other company. read more

Service person was condescending and aloof. Challenged my calling for repair assistance "you can spend $200 on a service call, or you can buy a new OH door opener for $350 - you choose". This was before he even took the cover off! If I need a new one, do you you have one on the truck? 'No, I'm only supposed to be here 15 minutes'. So yes, the unit is old, but in the end the unit was working - for $98. Company required payment at time of service even though work order indicates you have 7 days to pay. Not set up for billing or accounts receivable. Back office was disorganized. Required several calls to schedule an appointment. Service person assumed I had talked to "a woman" at the shop (indicating she was incapable). No actually, I talked to a 'new guy' who identified himself as such. All around, a bad way to end the week. If can avoid working with this company ever again, I will! read more
