Then even more time scraping paint off your patio furniture, decks, paint off the cement and flagging. Be prepared to scrape paint off your door frames, fence and railings. Note: the paint won't come off pressure treated wood or retaining walls. They should invest in tape! Note: when painting dryer vents, have dryer turned on to dry as vent flaps dried stuck! A fire in the making. Hint: garage door painting, paint doors let them dry, open them to paint trim and let dry. The trim dried to the doors and pulled the paint off each, we touched that up too along with painting the threshold because we couldn't get the paint off the metal. I'm hoping there's no dripping on my tin roof!

After traveling all the way from Maine, I realized I had brought the wrong key with me and had no choice but to call a locksmith. As luck would have it, a technician from Dion Locksmith was already on-site working on another job and kindly agreed to help me out afterward. While I truly appreciated the locksmith's willingness to assist and found him to be professional and efficient, I was very surprised (and disappointed) to be charged a $98 emergency service fee on top of the labor cost--especially considering I didn't request an urgent dispatch, and he was already there. I understand that companies have policies, but in this case, the policy felt unfair and inflexible. Charging for an "emergency visit" when no extra travel or urgency was involved doesn't sit right. Bottom line: The technician himself was great, but the pricing policy felt excessive and lacked transparency. If you ever find yourself locked out at U-Haul, bring a drill and a flat-head screwdriver--you may not need a locksmith at all.

I wanted to find out how much it would cost to replace all the door levers in the house. I visited a big box store (Home Depot or Lowes) and get an idea of the price for all the doors in the house. The disadvantage of that would be two things. One the door keys would not match and I've found that when professionals purchase hardware, they get a better quality than what the big box stores sell. Dion's prices for hardware was lower what i expected . Several weeks later, it wasn't an emergency, it took two visits from a very friendly and professional technician to install all the internal and outside locks and door levers. He adjusted each door so that all of them close like you would expect from new doors including the dead bolts locks. I was a pretty good technician back in the day but sometimes a seasoned professional does a better job than I could. Also the doors look a ton better than before. Thank you Dion's. I can recommend their service for any locksmith type problems you might have.
