I've been going here for over 10 years, since I had my first kitty (probably back in 2016?). We typically just went with "first available" vet available, but once we were paired with Dr. Natasha for our cats, we have only gone to her ever since. Dr. Natasha truly is the best! Her 'bedside' manner is both warm and friendly and you can tell she really cares for and looks after the pets under her care. She always takes the time to explain what procedures she recommends and breaks down the results of any testing she does with a personal phone call. Brought my dog (Deedee)into the vet yesterday (7.20.26.) worried about her legs going lame and her screaming; I never heard her do anything like it. I was sent home unceremoniously. this morning I woke up to her dead. Videos attached of what occurred at Overland Vet clinic today when I brought my dead dog in less than 24 hours after my visit: I acknowledge that I am imperfect. Anything you can find wrong with my behavior or wording, I have already beaten myself up over--and continue to beat myself up over--a hundred times more. Ultimately, however, I do not believe that any change in my reaction, composure, or verbiage would mean that my Bug would still be here with me right now... That said, I did not hit any walls. Aside from the multiple surveillance cameras throughout the clinic--which I specifically asked the police to review --what makes this lie even more outrageous is that I was fucking holding my dead dog in my arms. I did not even have a free hand to hit anything. The only person who put their hands on anyone was the office manager, who tried to physically force me through the exit and prevent me from returning to the waiting room because he could not manage me. I invite Overland Veterinary Clinic to release its surveillance footage. I invite the LAPD to release its chest cam footage as well. I am not the veterinarian. I am a terrified and grieving pet parent who has spent at least $6,000--and I believe it is actually much more than that; I simply stopped counting--in the last three months alone. I did this to, if not extend my two dogs' lives, then at least provide them with relief and comfort from what they were clearly suffering from. Despite all of that care and expense, both of my dogs became worse, not better. What is objectively true is that I brought Deedee in for the care described above. I spared no expense. I agreed to every test that was recommended, and I did so promptly. Yesterday, I brought her in panicked because I believed she was dying. Today, my dog is dead. I don't know exactly what my goal is, except perhaps accountability. It feels as though public visibility--rather than personal responsibility, ethics, or integrity--is the only way to make that happen. I want the people responsible for overseeing the health and safety of us and those we love to manage their own behavior and actions--something they are legally obligated to do--and to stop deflecting responsibility onto people who are often at their most vulnerable. In this case, they are treating my emotional reaction as the problem rather than addressing the medical care Deedee received and their own conduct, which seems to have directly resulted in the loss of my baby girl. Attached: -I believe the first video is the most pertinent. It's when the doctor finally comes out not the Vet who saw her yesterday, but the one from over a month ago. -The video of Deedee is the last one I have of her; it was taken at around 4:30 AM today about 12 hours after the vet visit yesterday. The panting is one of the symptoms that I've been repeatedly bringing up to the Vet (Overland Vet clinic and sepulveda vet clinic ) along with her constant choking, especially after she drank water. -screenshots are of my very raw notes at the time of the visit. What I also importantly mentioned to the vet was not only were dees legs going limp, but she was screaming and I've never heard scream like that before. She had stopped by the time she got to the vet office. These corporatized veterinary clinics, killed my dog and then treated me like garbage every time I stepped in to try to ensure my dog's proper care. I've been coming here for years, but things have really gone downhill. They can't seem to keep doctors, and now they're charging a $15 fee just to take your dog to the back for a quick assistant visit--literally 30 seconds. That's ridiculous. I brought my 6-year-old dog in for a physical. She's consistently weighed 68 lbs her whole life and has always been considered healthy. This time, a new vet suddenly said she needs to lose weight. Then, a week later, they told me I had to do blood work before they would even provide flea and tick medication. It feels like the focus has shifted from caring about pets to squeezing more money out of customers. I'm really disappointed and won't be coming back. read more

We've been coming to this clinic for years and they really take good care of our cat. The clinic is very clean and the staff is friendly, caring, and efficient. We always get seen quickly after we come in. They have several doctors and we've had good experience with them in general. Their hours are great - open 7 days and open early; convenient for working people. I feel their services are a bit pricy, but maybe the West LA prime location has something to do with it. Absolutely horrible. I have been extremely frustrated with veterinarians lately and originally left Overland Veterinary Clinic to try out Modern Animal. Had an even worse experience there and after Overland reopened after flooding, etc., had a good experience with the new managing vet Dr. Sylvia Drekic when we saw her back in April. My pittie mix has been bleeding from his eyes for a few weeks, which is very concerning. I got a quick appointment; however, when we arrived at 2:40 pm today, we waited for nearly an hour before being shown into an examination room. Dr. Drekic listened to my concerns about my dog -besides his eye bleeding, he needed to have his ears looked at for possible ear infection; his anal glands expressed, some lumps looked at, and also he was overdue for several vaccinations. She then disappeared and about five minutes later a young male vet tech came in. He gave me a muzzle to put on my dog, as he is admittedly a powerful 85-pound pittie. After I successfully put the muzzle on, he led Tank away and I went back to the waiting room. Nearly 45 minutes later, they came back out with Tank and told me they weren't able to accomplish any of the things that needed to be done. Like not one thing. At this point I had been there for 2 1/2 hours. They then charged me for a bottle of Trazodone and the "exam," which cost $122 for essentially nothing. I am now supposed to bring him back next week, drugged up so they can do what needs to be done. I have owned my dog for nine years and never have I had so many issues with inept veterinary staff. And trust me, I'm not the only one. There were several other people in the waiting room who went up to the front desk to complain about how long they have been waiting. And you will notice that many other reviews mention the ridiculous amount of wait time. They are clearly trying to pack in as many animals as they can because it's a big money grab. And they really couldn't care less about their clients or their pets. I tried to give this place one more shot, but we will not be returning. read more

Overland Veterinary Clinic - My miserable dog after waiting for hours to be seen - Veterinarians Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Our sixteen year old cat passed away in June and for her entire life we took her to Overland Veterinary Clinic. We recently adopted a new cat. We took her in for concerns with possible ringworm and a strange way she was sitting. After our appointment with our new cats problems began. We were told the vet would call the next day with the results of the x-rays. The next day came and went and when we messaged we were then told it would take 1-3 days, not the one day we had initially be told. Then when we called on the third day and left a message for the vet to get back to us. The vet did not get back to us. When we called on the fourth day we were told the vet wouldn't be in for another two days. What began with we will have the results for the x-rays the next day will now be at least six days. For the labs to test for ringworm we were told three to five days. Since the vet won't be in for another two days it will be six days, at least. We also needed a SOAP report to submit a claim for our new cat's insurance. We were told doctor's have seven days to complete it. On a follow up call we were told it can take ten days. I do not recognize Overland Veterinary Clinic anymore. Since they got bought out by a national group they are not the same place. I would not recommend anybody take their fur baby to this place. That is unless you want to take your baby to a place that gives you false timelines on when labs will be ready, gives you false timelines on when x-rays will be ready or gives you false timelines when SOAP reports will be ready. They no longer do anything in house so expect long ways. Which means if your baby has a health issue you will have to sit around and wait while it could be getting worse before anybody gets back to you. If we were return will will not see Dr. Fu-Chi Yu, she is the least responsive vet I have ever had the unfortunate experience to meet. read more

The quality of service at Overland Clinic has taken a dip since they were bought ny some awful private equity firm. We were customers for over a decade but no more. My husband got hung up on simply for wanting answers for our cat's lab work. No one ever calls back, the timeline keeps getting pushed out further and farther. Would not recommend this clinic at all! They diagnosed my dog with heart failure and said he had 3 to 6 months to live and placed him on medication. 2 weeks later I called and asked for the doctor who saw him to update her on his condition. This was Friday. The clinic said the doctor wouldn't be in until Monday bit that she checks her messages and SOMETIMES will return calls from her home. I left a detailed message about how my dog's breathing had gotten worse and that he was having fainting spells. Saturday morning I went to the clinic to get a refill on the medication and told them I hadn't heard from the doctor. Saturday afternoon another doctor called me and I told her the same concerns. She said to increase the medication doses. Sunday morning my dog died. My family and I are heartbroken. The doctor should've recognized the symptoms and told us to seek emergency care. read more

Made a new patient appointment for my pup. Completed the paperwork ahead of time and arrived 15 min early as requested. Finally left 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time as I a) never received an update as to the delay; b) never saw or spoke to the vet; and c) never even left the waiting room. So all in all, we were waiting in the waiting room for our appointment for 45 minutes without ever receiving an update and without ever having our scheduled appointment. Btw we were one of the first appointments of the day when the clinic opened. The vet herself may be good - I will never know - but whomever manages the clinic/front desk operations needs to be replaced. read more

I can't say enough about Dr Forsythe. We transferred all our care of two dogs and two cats to him. He is the most compassionate vet I have ever met. We entrusted him with their care and he was amazing. Our Corgi of 10 years and Brixton our Doodle mix mutt. They wag their tails when they see him. He was so gracious when we put down our cat Roger of 15 years. I miss Roger so much and cry as I write this but Dr Forsythe knew it was time with Roger's jaw bone cancer. I am so grateful for him taking care of my flock and keeping them healthy but also being there to say goodbye to Roger. The front desk people here are horrific!!! They don't care about your pets whatsoever it's about getting clients in and out the door. My 15 year old dog has been seen there for 8 years, and right now I am in desperate need of care to avoid the stress of bringing him in to the ER a second time, simply requested for a tech appointment to get him fluids and anti nausea injection for supportive care and went up there in person basically begging and they had ZERO concern and there's one lady especially who is just flat out rude. Fine place to go for a Cytopoint injection or other tech related matters (Lindsey the tech is amazing) buut other than that they are not who I would recommend if you want a clinic with people who actually care if your dog lives or dies read more

I don't know what happened to this place but it went downhill. It used to feel like the last non-corporate place. Over the years, it's become just like everything else. And because of that, I have moved to VCA. What finally inspired me to write the review wasn't the obnoxious technicalities on being a few days overdue for appointments, but the constant spam they push down my inbox. I try to unsubscribe but they have sold off my email to all sorts of brands now. Happy Healthy Pets, allydvm, birdeye, vet cove. All four of these places now send me emails identifying themselves as Overland Vet Clinic and it's filling my inbox and doesn't respect the Opt-Out. I try to opt-out on one and then another one just pops up. The spam doesn't stop. This place is just money hungry like every other vet now. It's fine, but it's not worth going here over VCA when VCA has more locations and continuous care when visiting the animal hospital. I used to drive well out of my way to go here since it was the only privately owned practice I could find, but not anymore. read more

My dog was left in the back for over 4hrs without being seen. I had to ask for them to look at him because they forgot him. They said they got the names mixed, but they only figured it out when I asked. This is extremely unprofessional. Not only that, when I asked the people in the front desk, they were extremely rude and I was ignored by one of them. After I asked, they had him ready after 15min and the cleaning was not done well. It was definitely rushed and I am scared that they did not treat him nicely because they were rushing. This should NOT happen again to any pet or pet owner. I am VERY disappointed in Overland Veterinary Clinic. I had been going to this veterinary clinic for MANY years until very recently. I had spent A LOT of money at this clinic because I love my cat, Herbie. There is a way to perform customer service at the front desk. Without mentioning any names, this clinic falls way short of treating customers correctly. There is such a lack of respect from one of the customer service reps at the front desk. I will keep her name out of this. Overland veterinary Clinic pushes so many animals through there in a day, it becomes chaotic. First, It is a long, long wait to be called once you check in. Many times, I have waited 45 mins. Then they take you in a room for another 10-20 minute wait to speak to a young tech. Finally, the doctor comes in. They then take your pet for another LONG wait. And then another significant wait to checkout. When Dr. Schwartz was in charge, this clinic was great. After he and Dr. Forsyth left, I have experienced a downhill atmosphere in Overland Veterinary Clinic. I had been a very loyal customer at this clinic for a long time. The worst and rudest front desk ever and so incompetent!! What is so hard about running a smooth and friendly front desk??? Give me 1-2 months and I can change this for the better. . I really can. I went here for over 10 years and have multiple dogs. So sad what has happened to this once great clinic. I use to think it was a 4-5 star place. Now, -10. Awful. When I complained, they asked me to leave after many many years. There was a front desk gal who was on a power trip and was like Putin! The power got to her head. During the pandemic, somehow the culture changed and the focus was on retaining the front desk staff. The staff's precious "mental health" was prioritized over the customers' mental health. The front desk became abusive and would get upset if they were asked how long the wait was! So badly managed. I would fire them all and hire people who are competent and understand how to provide pleasant customer service. I have never encountered RUDENESS like Ive encountered here!! Truly shocking and it hasn't changed. Lol. I see from the other reviews that many agree. I use to get stressed out and aggravated EVERY TIME I went. The really went down with the pandemic. I have been coming to this veterinarian for many years. Today I brought in my dog for her allergy shot. She hadn't been seen in over a year so they needed to charge me a $97 exam fee. I agreed. What was the exam? The doctor listened to her heartbeat. That's it. $97 for that? It makes me wonder, what's more important, the money or care? What a joke. On top of that, the allergy shot was $197. I decided to try this vet because its closer to my house and my broke her toe. They were able to provide a same day appt for 10am. I arrive 10 minutes early as requested and waited and waited for 40 minutes. No update provided at all from staff until I asked. Ask I was waiting, I saw the interaction between staff and customer. One staff proceeded to get a dog for the WRONG service twice. They had no idea why the customer was waiting. As I was still waiting I started to get a negative gut feeling. I called my old vet to see they could squeeze me in. Although about 20 minutes further, I really trust my old vet and appreciate the customer service I receive from them. I have a cat that requires chronic medication. Came in asking for a refill about 2 weeks before running out because I'm traveling and my cat sitter would run out while I was away. A front desk assistant named Tania told that I'm "playing dumb with controlled substances" and that I need to pay for another appointment before they will consider the refill. When I went on their website to book an appointment and indicated the issue it says to not wait and call for an urgent appointment! How when no one calls back! I don't usually write reviews, but after seeing what my friend went through with overland vet clinic, i felt like people need to know. he trusted them with his cat -- a sweet, gentle creature who was clearly unwell -- and what he got in return was cold, disorganized, and honestly careless service. i was with him for part of it, and the whole thing felt like a business transaction, not a place that treats animals with love and urgency. what really got to me was how everything was about running tests without any direction. no empathy, no proper exam, just "we can try this, this, and this" -- with no real clarity. and they weren't small expenses either. every test came with a heavy price tag, and still, no one gave him real answers. later on, after spending over a thousand, the vet casually mentioned she might have felt something physically during the visit -- days after the appointment. how is that not the first thing you act on? he ended up having to go to other clinics to get proper help -- too late, unfortunately. his cat passed not long after. it breaks my heart, because i know he did everything he could. he didn't deserve this. no one does. if you care about your pet -- really care -- stay far away from this place. read more

This used to be an excellent clinic but no longer. My sister trapped a stray cat and couldn't find a spay/neuter clinic that could take it quickly. She called Overland Vet and explained the situation, she was told they could do it and to bring the cat in. When she arrived she was rudely told they weren't a clinic and didn't know why someone would tell her to come in. She was finally told they would do the procedure and put her in a room. She then heard them laughing in the back room because this poor, terrified stray had escaped the carrier. My sister was doing a nice thing for this cat and Overland Vet took advantage. They charged her $1200 for a procedure that costs $150 at a clinic. They obviously care more about money than the animals. read more

Love him so much after helping me with my Puppy Maile who had distemper, my Rosie who had hypothyroidism n Cushing's then hemangioma sarcoma that we could not cure. He's amazing going the extra mile! But every time I pass this practice my gut pushes me to complete this so that others can be more aware. I like to experience things for myself, more than hearsay, but if I were aware of the grotesque business practices witnessed -- I wouldn't have been there to have had this experience in the first place. Be forewarned.] If you are looking for an honest, safe, and trustworthy place to bring your beloved animal -- this couldn't be further from your most basic desires. We spent years as clients of this office and considered it our family home base to bring our dogs.   There was an obvious change in behavior, practice, and morals over the last couple of years. This was pre-pandemic, so there is no need for consideration for a "soft pass" for being overwhelmed, displaced, or otherwise. The pandemic is irrelevant here. Not that the pandemic makes this behavior okay. It is clear by their actions that they are money motivated and when we questioned a misappropriated set of charges. After inquiring, we were rudely told they were sending us our records as we were no longer patients of their practice. Years at this office and this is the response? We were trying to have a dialog and ask very legitimate questions. This is how they handle minor issues, imagine anything larger. Whew. Their response only highlighted how we were correct in our assumptions -- and now feel stronger in our beliefs that their attention is less on patient care, transparency, and responsibility to wellness. The ladder is regretfully last in mind. Lastly, your front desk is rude. We have experienced. Other reviewers expereience. Take this as constructive criticism and do better. We are collectively leaving your practice for a reason. The community at large has important feelings about your practice. There is overwhelming conversations online from various trustworthy neighbors who have been valuable members of this community for years. Learn from your mistakes. Do better and perhaps the climate of your practice will change. So long as your attitude is directed on the wrong path... these reviews and abandoned patrons should be expected. It is insulting when someone is allowed to make a last minute appointment when you are at the clinic and everyone with an appointment takes the back seat. This is a clinic not an emergency clinic. I started taking my cats to Overland in August 2021. In the beginning the doctors were great! I was so happy with the service provided by all of the vets. The receptionists were subpar and most of the time pretty rude but my partner and I decided that the staff being rude wasn't going to deter us from great doctors! Fast forward to today, I took my youngest cat in (8 months old) because he's been having a cough/wheezing/shaking his head. Once I got into the exam room they told me the doctor wouldn't be performing the exam in front of me, which shocked me since they usually do it in front of me so I know everything they check. They took my fur baby in the back and waited. The doctor came in and was asking me questions about what's going on with him even though I had already told the receptionist in the appointment notes, the vet tech, and now her. She asked me some questions about our house and basically had no idea what was wrong with him. I threw out some ideas I had (as anxious cat moms have) and she was basically picking and choosing which ones I mentioned to use as a diagnosis. It felt like throwing all of my worries against a wall and her picking whichever ones stuck. She left and told me she was going to give me an estimate for all of the things we discussed, I assumed before anything was to be done. 30 MINUTES LATER the vet tech comes in with a $371 estimate!!! WHAT. I ended up taking off a $100 fecal exam because I really didn't believe it was the thing wrong with him AND we usually do that at his annual check up. When I mentioned I didn't want to do it/pay for it I got so much attitude from the vet tech. This whole experience was so horrible and to pay $271 for no official diagnosis, no sense of relief, and still no clue if what I'm doing to help him will help, I'm over them. They don't email you a receipt of what you're paying for and don't even ask if you would like a copy. You have to ask to get a copy for your records. Horrible experience. Needless to say, we are now looking for a new vet. SIDE NOTE: The parking is an absolute disaster! I always get honked at when turning into the parking lot because there's no turn lane and the lot is so small you can barely move without almost hitting someone. read more

I'm disappointed that the only option given to me was surgery costing $3k to $4k on top of the examination which was close to 50% over the original estimate. After looking online, there are treatments for bladder stones but those werent options I was told about. and then after 2 days, I get a text message with some explanation about size and number of stones and that there's no other treatment options.What guarantee do I have that she wont get bladder stones again? its not like I was given any information on how to control stones via her diet. I just feel the whole experience with overland veternaisry clinic was subpar and don't think ill be returning again read more
