The young man at the counter offered me an extensive menu of regular coffees, espresso drinks and specialty drinks, all of which could be made hot or cold. They also have a variety of milk selections. Unfortunately, they were out of skim milk today, but he offered to tweak the amount when I told him that the main reason I usually had skim milk was to enhance the coffee flavor(and their coffee really tasted good). Additionally, he offered to make my drink in my personal cup which was great since I hate to use plastic whenever I can. This location is only a half block from United Hospital and all its various buildings and there is no good coffee within that entire complex. It's definitely worth getting a breath of fresh air and taking a block and a half stroll to have a great cup of Joe! By the way, although I tried hard not to look, their pastry case looked scrumptious, filled with homemade pies by the slice and other goodies. Since they are so close to the hospital it's really nice that they also have a lovely display of fresh cut flowers. Next time I'm down here I'm going to stop in for a meal. If the food is as good as the coffee I think I'll become a regular.

This is a small coffee shop almost to the downtown area. There is neighborhood parking all around(free) just make sure you are reading the signs correctly. As I walked in, it had such a cozy and welcoming feeling. The brick, smell of coffee and people chatting really gave this a classic coffee shop vibe! Almost like being in a book! The service... i asked for my coffee iced and to have oat milk. Neither of those requests were fulfilled. Now, I do like hot coffee, so I didn't complain and I will say the coffee was delicious. The temp was perfect for drinking right away. I am lactose intolerant, so I didn't realize I didn't get my oat milk until after I left if you catch my drift haha. The person taking my order seemed frazzled and wasn't very friendly. I had also ordered another baked goods but I guess she didn't hear because upon checking my receipt, it wasn't listed. It wasn't overly busy, but may be she was new? Not sure, but it did leave a bit of a bad taste for this place. The scone was very tasty and I would recommend getting it warmed up. I have great confidence in the knowledge and abilities of the current staff. Their espresso has a unique flavor that I love. They also have special monthly drinks that are fun to try if you get tired of ordering the same thing and need a little inspiration. Their bakery items are always fresh and delicious. I'm fairly positive everything is baked from scratch in-house. One of my favorites is their scones, which come with little containers of lemon curd, raspberry jam, and Devonshire cream for spreading. Their monster cookies are incredible. They also have Big "Mini" Donuts, which are downright sinful in the amount of pleasure they create in one's mouth. Apart from their great service, I was absolutely delighted by the fact that they have both recycling and compost receptacles available to customers. I believe their to-go cups, utensils, and cup sleeves are compostable, and their cup-lids recyclable. These things matter to me, and I'm glad it matters to them too! It didn't have much espresso, so it ended up tasting more like flavored milk. They do offer a nice variety of milk options at no extra charge, which is a plus. but still the drinks are very expensive for what you get. There's some seating inside and parking behind the building, which makes it convenient. The shop was cute but on the smaller side also the tables weren't very clean when we were there. The staff wasn't overly friendly and didn't make it feel especially welcoming.

I've tried a few coffees but the one we keep coming back to is the chai latte. They're not overly dusty like some other places chais and they are consistently good. It's one of the best I've had in the twin cities. They do weekend tutoring if you need it and host alot of activities for patrons. The staff is always friendly and we love stopping in for our once-a-week coffee shop stops.
