This community center is right near where my friend just moved to a few years ago…read more After a day of working at his place, he wanted to work out, and invited me to join him at his local gym in this community center. I had no idea what to expect as I had never been! We were able to walk from his spot -- a good 10-15 minute walk I'd say. It also happened to be Early Voting day, so we saw plenty of signs on our way in. Once inside, I saw a sign for all these classes they have, including swimming, tennis, archery, dance... it's quite the variety! I also saw a bunch of rooms down the hall, which I imagine are used for a myriad of activities. We had to check in at the desk, and then we made our way to the gym. It's got everything you need -- TVs that occasionally play music (someone was blasting go-go on a bluetooth speaker, that was fine lol), plenty of treadmills and other cardio machines, plenty of dumbbells, and machines targeting specific muscle groups. My friend and I were there for a good 90 minutes or so, so it definitely had everything we needed. In fact, I'm still pretty sore now! It's great for the locals, and I believe it's ~$120 for a full year's membership. Not bad when comparing to most other places! If you happen to be in the area, give it a shot.

I love that they feature artwork from local youth, and the kids seem to be using it well. The parking here is super easy, and not crowded. It's nestled in a neighborhood of apartments, so there are always kids playing here. I love the vibe. I'll be back for more classes, for sure.

While the door the workout room has scan and enter capability, anyone can just push open the door and walk in. Not many wipes are available to wipe down the equipment (one pack on only one side of the room). The bathrooms seem relatively clean. Not sure if I will renew my membership here. Had no idea this place existed…read more After having my LO, I realized that I needed to get his birth certificate. This building houses all the things for your important document things- the birth and death certificates. Fairly easy to spot from the road, plenty of parking available. Due to it being a Govt building you do have to go through a metal detector. Security there is nice and helpful. Office to get birth certificates is immediately to your left. Simply go to the window, provide the clerk with the requested items, pay your fee and wait a coupe of minutes for the item to be printed. The wait was non-existent and the folk that worked there were really nice. Super happy that o was able to check something else off my list.

I'm not sure if the staff is accustomed to handling large crowds because things seemed a bit unorganized. An older lady working at the desk seemed to move in a very slow pace and the line was very backed up. The area where the performance took place was pretty spacious and clean. I believe this community center is a great venue to host an event (birthday party, wedding reception, etc.,) I don't think it's accustom to handling large events but may evolve.

Initially, the female manager was very welcoming and flexible with our group. We never had issues with scheduling the facility or with customer service. Since she was transferred, we have run into a lot of headaches. The staff since then and especially now are extremely rude. They don't greet people as they walk and when they do engage with us they are usually rude and unfriendly. We have had mulriple scheduling conflicts after signing a contract and confirming our league and have been forced to make last minute postponements in our schedule. The faciliry itself is not the best for two side by aide volleyball courts either. The courts run right up to the wall on one side and the bleachers on the other which make it difficult to have enough space to serve. The basketball hoops also do not rise all the way up on both courts and often times interfere with game play. I hope the league finds another more suitable facility with much better customer service for future play.

Do you have an area to drop off paints, regular recycling, cardboard, plastics, oil, scrap, metal, appliances, and general household waste. When you enter, you must show your ID and let them know what you are dropping off and they will direct you to where you need to go. The area is pretty well maintained and not a lot of trash laying around. I only went to the residential drop off area as it is separate from the commercial area.

I had the pleasure of being able to take a day off work to attend a meeting of one of the Boards…read morethat I serve on for the MSFA at the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company yesterday. We held our meeting in their Hall upstairs at their Fire Station. The volunteers did an awesome job with having to "order in" since Jonathan Atkinson and Former Chief Kenny Hyde's daughter from nearby Baltimore (who apparently now own or run t/a "Coastal Construction") So excited to hear that while I was on that side of the draw-bridge that this construction company is NOW just about to honor the correct completion without questions of their renovation of the Hall Kitchen and bathrooms and bring them up to code before they finish the job at the nearby restaurant they are currently working on. It will be great to see their comapny be able to get back to their fund raising efforts. Look forward to attending BINGO one Friday night in the near future and hearing that this Career Baltimore County Firefighter and Fireman's Daughter are doing the right thing in the name of public service. It is great that they will even be removing the old bathroom fixtures and replacing them with new ones just to be kind. ...WOW!

Today, our air conditioner caused the outlet to smoke up. The house was full of smelly thin smoke…read moreand the outlet was covered in black stuff. I called the fire department (this one obviously) and explained that it wasn't a huge situation. I explained that it smelled like chlorine and that there was smoke. Three fire trucks showed up. Me and my mother and brother were standing on the sidewalk when one of the fire men, dragging the fire hose into the house, rudely shouted at us to move. Only one of the fire men actually told us what was going on. And what's worse, they went to go check out the basement and ended up RIPPING THE ENTIRE DOOR OFF OF THE HINGES! I don't understand why people don't know how to open doors. They ended up leaning the door back on the frame and they turned all of our power off. They left without telling us about the door. My father almost fell down the steep stone stairs to the basement. I understand it most likely was protocol but I don't think they had to be rude about it. I also don't think they should've ripped our door off. -Logan
