Justin and Jasmine made sure we stayed hydrated, and regularly brought us into the air conditioning to avoid overheating. They ensured our safety every moment we were there. The rope course was insanely fun, the giant swing and zip line were a blast and our favorite part was honestly the rock climbing! Justin and Jasmine were fantastic - we will definitely come back (preferably not during a heat wave haha) and hope they will be our guides again - every single person today made it memorable for my family! I felt like I could support my toddler safely in it. There were multiple slides, carts to ride down a dolly slide, a soccer field, and all sorts of things. I didn't love the angle on the big pink slide. It seemed dangerous and I saw a young girl hurt herself on it. My son loved taking breaks in the black light space dance room. There are tables and picnic tables and the bathrooms were pretty clean. There were extra things you had to pay even more for like foosball, air hockey, claw machines, motorcycles to ride, and maybe other arcade games. It was $22 which I felt was a little pricey. I think the catch is that you can leave and come back, but I'm never going to spend my whole day at one of these places.

The park is a multi-purpose park as it has a few fields along with the BWI Trail. Parking was easy to find as well once I realized the trail parking is on the other side of the ball field parking. Once parked, I hit the BWI Trail and fell in love. As the trail itself is a little over 11 miles, I did 2 miles and turned around and headed back. The trail is spacious and easy to follow. The signs are clear and the variation of the trail varies from easy to moderate. As I walked along the trail I was captured by the sights of the airport, the horses, and the natural landscape of the greenery. As my walk came to an end, I not only felt good but I was also excited at the experience. If you're in the area and wanting a great trail to walk, run, or bike, check out Andover Park.

In general, cyclists are kind and let you know that they are passing. It's nice that you will see the occasional bench there if you just to sit and enjoy some rays or take a break. There is plenty of free parking at the entrance up by the ballfields or down a ways by the horses. I'm probably doing a disservice by only mentioning the walking trails because that's basically what I will be using. But from what I have seen the ballfields look well-kept and appear to be a fine venue In the county for recreational sports.

El Jefe, the large slide, and Thor, the climbing tower and slide, were our favorites. I strongly recommend booking one of the first sessions during the summer. We went early when it was less crowded, and it became noticeably busier later. In the afternoon, we completed the green and blue aerial trails. Both were a lot of fun, and the progression from one to the next worked well. Overall, River Riders is an excellent choice for families or groups looking for an active full day near Harpers Ferry.

Despite having prior rafting experience and maintaining strong physical fitness, this individual tubing trip presented hazardous conditions with virtually no on-water safety support. ​Key Issues Observed: ​No Helmets Suggested or Required: Helmets were not recommended, suggested, or provided for navigating rocky rapids. I capsized and hit my head on submerged rocks--a dangerous hazard that warrants clear guidance and mandatory head protection. ​Zero Rescue Personnel: No river guides or safety kayakers were stationed along technical sections. When participants were pinned against rocks or stranded in strong currents, there was no staff to assist. ​Inadequate Instruction & Extreme Strain: Relying solely on arm paddling through boulder gardens offers minimal control and quickly causes physical exhaustion, even for fit individuals. ​Equipment Failures: Some tubes were punctured by sharp rocks, leaving guests stranded in turbulent water with no emergency extraction protocol. Commercial river outfitters have a basic duty of care to provide essential protective gear, clear instruction, and active supervision. I strongly advise making sure these safety practices are in place before booking unless you have experience and are comfortable without the precautions.
