BUT, everywhere I try within a 15-mile radius is not able to help or in a scary neighborhood. . None accept Molina or accepts new patients or both. These are recommendations which have been recently suggested, phone-based calls on Molina Healthcare public phone number, several transfers, suggested phone numbers, ALL for nothing! Due to this year's change in insurance. I've had to suffer the ineptitude of Molina...particularey any mental health protocol. Shocking! and potentially harmful. 100% incompetent/ negligent. I was transferred at least 8 times, plus "call-back" numbers...simply trying to obtain a 10-15 minute appt with a genuine MD, specializing in Psychiatry. ALL I require is the continuation of existing meds prescribed by my last Dr. What's so hard about that? I spent from 11:30am to 4pm exhaustively TRYING to connect to a legit psychiatrist's office to make a simple appt!!! What the hell is wrong with you people?!? i USED TO TRUST YOU. 4 1/2 hrs is LONG ENOUGH!!! I've been patient, mindful of my tone, complimentary of stellar customer service....though lacking in results. You should be ashamed!!! I miss my PPO!!! You suck!!!!!!!

Not too cold, but great enough from the Summer Heat. Even the patient rooms were more spacious and nice. I look forward to future visits here. I am a young person who just moved to San Diego from out of state. I have medication I need to take daily I need to get refilled as well as discuss some health issues I have been having so it's time sensitive I get an appointment. I want to preface that every time I have called this office I was put on a long wait and handed off to a different person every time. The reception has always been audibly irritated and rude even with me asking very simple questions politely which has always made me feel like a burden to call to ask questions. Through my insurance portal, this business and its doctor were recommended to me. I call to become a new patient - they let me know only Dr. Hoostal is only taking new patients instead of the other doctor. That's fine, maybe they haven't updated their availability on the backend yet. I give them my information and they let me know they will call me back when my insurance is approved. I waited about a week, I called again to politely inquire about an estimation on when I might hear back. The receptionist became hostile and annoyed on the phone, letting me know the lady in charge of verifying insurance "has a giant pile on her desk and we get more everyday, so when she gets to it she gets to it." My mouth literally dropped. I didn't know what to say, so I let them know okay just call me when it's approved so we can get new patient work started for my condition. She goes "is there a reason you need to come in?" I let them know yeah I have a condition as well as some other issues so looking to get in to see Dr. Hoostal. I then got a voicemail an hour later saying it went through so I wonder if my call helped urge things along. Finally get to booking an appointment after these phone calls and back and forth. I've made it clear in my calls a few times now I have ADHD and am looking to get an appointment so Dr. Hoostal can hear my medical issues and help with my prescription that I need to take everyday. When they quoted me a month time for my appointment I asked if there was a waitlist for an earlier appointment and they said no (never been to an office that doesn't do this it seems pretty typical) and they asked why - I told them its for my condition which I mentioned on each call before. It's not life threatening, but I do have a migraine condition and if I miss anything in my schedule I am prone to a migraine. Right when I finally get to booking my appointment after these hurdles, reception lets me know Dr. Hoostal can't prescribe ADHD medication. I ask if that's a California law (I'm new to state) or an office thing. She said he has a moral obligation against treating ADHD patients (which I mentioned to them at least three times I have already) so I would have to see someone else so my time in the queue to become a new patient essentially meant nothing. Kind of confusing as most neurodivergent people also have ADHD and this is a pretty common disorder. I urge people looking for this to become their PCP to look at other nearby establishments who don't discriminate against patients based on their lifelong health conditions and whose employees are respectful on the phone. I understand healthcare can be stressful but it made me feel really self-conscious and discouraged every time that I called and every simple polite question was met with hostility and noticeable annoyance and tiredness. Healthcare shouldn't be a place where patients need to walk on eggshells or be ashamed of issues they are dealing with. If you are looking to be a patient here I would look elsewhere.

My Surgeon, Dr. Frank Coufal is well known, highly recommended, he diagnosed me correctly after seeing my MRI and knowing all the positive results of his previous patients was my reason for being here. Surgery: L2 to L5 Laminectomy The RN and Nursing Assistant that prepared me pre surgery were amazing. In addition, I have to also mention the following OR staff that made my fears disappear and gave me the confidence in the procedure. Thank you to... Next three days I had the best care from every nurse/nursing assistant, physical therapist, occupational therapist, phlebotomy tech, folks that brought my meals and people that cleaned my room thoroughly every day. I hope I never need surgery or to be hospitalized. But if I do, this is the only hospital I will be choosing. I even made a video on my YouTube channel to thank everyone that cared for me. THANKS TO SCRIPPS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL LA JOLLA! After suffering from back pain for over 20 years (level 5 to 10, daily), Dr. Coufal's work released me from pain. The numbing in my feet and hands that made me unable to walk or create art (I'm an artist) was gone in recovery room. A week after surgery, I was walking without a walker. Now 5 months after, I am walking with no pain and don't take pain meds every day. If I over do it, I may need Advil but that would be for anyone.

Dr. Saleh is kind, welcoming to his patients, and is very proactive in helping deal with any health issues. I have been to many doctors before who have disregarded symptoms of a conditions I have had, but you Dr. Saleh is the opposite. It is clear he really cares about his patients and wants to help them as much as he can. His office is also very helpful and makes it easy to book appointments and deal with paperwork. Truly the best!

During and after this year's visit it felt like he was overwhelmed. A nurse asked me what questions I had for him before he saw me. I also didn't receive my lab results with his comments in the mail like I usually do. I inquired about that via email. A call came at the end of the day from the office but no message was left. The most maddening part of dealing with his office is obtaining scripts for 360 tablets for maintenance meds. The convenience of receiving an (almost) year's supply of meds all at once as well as the quantity discount outweighs 90 day scripts will refills that are normally covered by insurance. In a good year it takes two phone calls as well as requests in person to obtain the correct 360 pill script. This year it took two in person requests, five phone calls and some gaslighting from a member of his staff who insisted last year's scripts were only written for 90 days. Next year I'll take the empty bottles with me and confirm that I want the same thing.

Even before him, we were misdirected by EVERYONE from our pediatrician to the 6 different people on the phone. First we were sent from Scripps Mission Valley to 501 Washington. The flyer they gave me said Ste but no suite number. GPS led me to the garage for Village Hillcrest. The flyer from the pediatrician did not explain which elevator to take so we ended up in the deserted VH mall. A nice woman who just came off an elevator told us to go around to the separate entrance to the medical offices. We went there. NONE of the office listings by the elevator say 1. RADIOLOGY, 2. SCRIPPS . NONE OF THEM. Where were we supposed to go? There were no doors, no people, no phone numbers. So I called and called the number on our pediatrician's flyer and kept getting transferred to people who had never been in the building and read us the same instruction- go to the building with no sign for Scripps or Radiology. Then they kept transferring me to the radiology clinic and disconnecting me. 40 minutes elapsed with this circus and I finally get the man in radiology and I explain our need to get an xray. He keeps telling me he is about to close. He says we should go to Scripps Mercy even though it is 4:40 and he is open and we are a couple minutes away. You can tell he doesn't want us to come even though we are located in the parking lot directly behind his building and it would take is less than 2 minutes to get there. I explain we just need a chest x ray and that we have been trying since BEFORE 4:00 PM to find the office that is NOT labeled in the building directory by the elevators. He says it's a one room clinic and he is the only one there. Clearly he didn't want us to find him. He keeps saying he is going to close soon. He repeats again that we could go to Scripps Mercy which is across the street for the fourth time and I give up. P.S. Scripps Mercy had us in and out in less than 15 minutes with kindness, grace and courtesy. We were done even before Scripps Coastal closed. STAY AWAY FROM SCRIPPS COASTAL- as the man told me it is a "one room clinic" with only him working there. He does not want to help you or any patients.

I had never been under anesthesia or anything. Let's just say when I came out of surgery I was in and out. I would wake up and fall asleep, I'm not too sure if the anesthesia just wasn't wearing off as fast as they thought it would but I did not feel ok. My oxygen kept dropping and I just remember my nurse calling me a "light weight" laughing at me MULTIPLE times. I'm sorry but how unprofessional is that? I remember thinking to myself, what kind of nurse says then when a patient is in a vulnerable state. Honesty, I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and the thought of it still bothers me. That nurse needs some sort of training. It made me not want to get surgery there ever again. Who wants to be mocked and laughed at when they're in recovery?
