I was even invited to see the actual wine production , which felt incredibly special. Under their guidance, I got to apply foil and pack my very first bottle of wine. We tasted a wide variety of wines, had lovely conversations, and even took walks together -- it truly felt like visiting family. The place itself feels like a little piece of California. Coming from rainy Bellevue, it was such a refreshing change. The tasting room is beautifully situated in the middle of the vineyards, offering a unique opportunity to see, feel, and experience how the grapes are grown. There aren't enough kind or heartfelt words to fully describe how wonderful this experience was. I highly recommend visiting this place. P.S. If you're lucky, try to reserve the charming cottage owned by the same family. The sunny terrace with views of the vineyard and Mount Rainier is absolutely stunning

It seems since Sagelands was last reviewed in August 2007, they have opened up a larger tasting area (it's really big). The bartender who was pouring our tastes was very knowledgeable and recommended a few specific wines for us to taste. This was the only winery though where a tasting fee was required. We didn't end up paying it though since we purchased several bottles. Make sure you try the Cabernet chocolate sauce which they pour over small pieces of pound cake (if they have it). Even though the sauce was like $20/bottle, the sample is just amazing. This winery also has amazing grounds so be sure to spend a few minutes walking around outside to take in the sights.
