I have used Owens Electric on three different projects. They are very easy to deal with and are very responsive. I have found their pricing to be fair and economical. I have worked with three different cruise on my three different projects and everyone has been absolutely fantastic. Each technician has bent over backwards to make the customer happy and has offered choices to help cost. Unlike other companies, they are very good at making sure that they clean up after the project is completed. I also want to give a shout out to Megan in the front office as she has been fantastic in helping work schedule and is always very friendly to deal with. she knows me by name and has helped me twice in moving my appointment at the last minute to get my projects completed; I very much appreciate all of her help. read more

Long-standing electrical issues came to a head w/sparks flying from main breaker which looked quite dangerous. As a renter I had to inform landlord in NY that I booked Owen's @after hours rates which was warranted as I did not intend to watch the condo burn down while the cheap landlord waited for rates to go down ~ lol. Owen's had an electrician talk to landlord via phone to break down technical reasons repair needed to be done ASAP. Electrician [Monty] arrived within a few hours & was extremely professional & courteous. Total respect for the client's space. Landlord sent his local handyman [who had previously failed miserably in a dozen attempts to solve the electrical issues] to come check on Owen's man to make sure he was not lollygagging & shilly-shallying & working too slow & milking the job. In fact it was the opposite as Monty worked very quickly and explained everything to us as such as his decision to change ancient crusty wiring to copper for safety and longetivity. My landlord is a sleazeball semi-crook himself so expects the same low standards from all. His cohort/handyman was extremely impressed w/Owen's man as well he should be as Monty is not only on point w/electrical knowledge but a great communicator. He insisted however we leave him alone when he worked on "live" wires so he had no distractions & could fully focus on his work during the most dangerous part of the operation. That, folks, is a professional. Owen's electrician also left the burned parts to mail to the landlord. Besides charred parts on a plastic circuit breaker casing, there were melted wire casings and a melted screw that absolutely terrified me. The heat inside that wall must have been insane. LESSON TO BE LEARNED ~ LISTEN UP PEOPLE ~ If you want to cut corners to save a few bucks by hiring a handyman instead of a licensed electrician go right ahead. That's what my landlord did ~ & his property nearly went down in flames. He would have faced numerous lawsuits from other condo owners if their units caught fire due to his cheapa&& negligence. As other people noted, the Owen's guys go the extra mile. They clean up everything and are very polite, friendly, on time, and super professional. Very highly recommended if you want the job done right so you can sleep at night. read more

I have an older manufactured home in Bradenton. My husband plugged a chainsaw into the outside Outlet which had no GFI and blew the electric in half the house. A team from Owens Electric came out and spent about a half-day troubleshooting to find out how to address the problem. The resolution was complicated by the fact that most of the wiring was under the house which had affected all of the outlets in many of the ceiling lights. The team spent approximately 9 hours to address the problem and resolve the wiring to the outlets and also to the various ceiling lights affected. I was very impressed with the attention to detail the team took to make sure everything was addressed and resolved. The cost of the entire project was extremely reasonable given the amount of time and dedication it took on the part of the team to get the house electricity up and running. Quoted $95/hr first hour $80/any additional hours. Got invoiced for $130/hr and extra time. They credited an hour I paid bill :-( Came back to finsh and actually had to cut all the boxes out be cause he had them sticking out to far. Now they are trying to get me to pay a bill for their guy fixing his own work read more

This is the second time I have had Owen's Electric to fix an electrical problem. They diagnosed a problem that others could not and saved me $1000 in the process. They called before arrival and gave me the technicians name. I had to dig up a plant for him to access an underground wire and he replanted it for me before he left. read more
