My dad and I were in and out in less than 10 minutes, and had to come back twice to get all the mulch we needed. They took our order, filled up our truck and away we went. However, the mulch had a lot of trash in it. As I was scooping it onto the landscaping, I noticed cigarette butts, plastic pieces and old newspaper. It was annoying to have to pick out trash while I was mulching. Around 38 bucks for a truckload of mulch. Price seems comprable to every other place in town. Bring cash or your checkbook because they don't take plastic!

I gave him my information and asked 2 more times if he was sure he didn't want to give me a date to call back, he was insistent that it was okay and they would be in touch. Well you guessed it, they never called me back and I forgot about until my wife reminded me that we were going to have someone look at the landscaping and give an estimate on re-doing it. Now we are going to be a season behind and it be even more difficult to get this taken care of.

There are many national and local moving companies in the Lafayette area, I would advise against choosing Herren's because they do not care about you. They pride themselves on having 30 years of service but in reality, but they lack any reputable business practices. Avoid if you enjoy your furniture, avoid if you value supporting local business, avoid if you want your money to go towards collaborative, kind business peoples.

I can not begin to express our disappointment in quality work, lack of communication, and ruining the shape of the 25 year old trees. They will never look the same again. (Credentials: My partner is a state certified aborist visiting from MA. Her opinion below) Birches are meant to be fully shaped! They didn't ask what the homeowner wanted and, when asked, disregarded the concern halfway through cutting all the way up the side of the trees. We had hired an expert and were left with poorly shaped trees and ruts in the yard from the bucket truck. Sadly, they will not take responsibility for either or offer to fix these oversights. They did not consult the homeowner or walk the property with her or ask what her priorities are. No regard for customers' desires. The foreman stated, "This is how the owner wants the trees to look." (The foreman shared that he worked for the state highway department. I have seen they often trim trees back to the trunk ) My partner, a professional state certified arborist, call for no more than 30% trimming and shared, "They were just lazy, and didn't want to climb to remove the proper braches. They should have consulted the customer." Is this the work you want from an expert? Now the trees will never be the same, The lower growth will NEVER COME BACK. Update: The customer, my mother, is so incredibly unhappy with the work and doesn't want to revisit how upset she is. Nothing can be done to fix the atrocities done to the trees, and she doesn't want to break down over the phone. I am speaking on what she can't bear to share: how ruined the trees were after signing a contract. You should be ashamed for taking advantage of the elderly with a contract missing industry standard language of "remove branches 2 in diameter" or "remove branches 10 ft and below."

He steered me away from asphalt, and to a less expensive asphalt millings product. I decided to give that a try, and gave him the green light. He did the work, and as he was finishing up his wife called and said it was ready, and wanted to arrange payment. I told her I'd be there in three minutes. I got there, and inspected the job...again, good. Then came the payment fiasco. On his truck he flys Visa / Mastercard stickers, indicating that he accepts CC. When his wife asked me for a check I told her that a CC would be better for (points, warranty...21st century - who carrys checks?) Mind you, I was there to pay in 3 minutes, while many contractors wait 30 days or more for payment. I was doing the right thing by paying on the spot...he didn't apparently value that. Well that was the end of the positive experience. She told me George would have to do that, and that there'd be the dreaded extra fee. I told her that the two ways to handle fee were for either the vendor to eat that charge, or the customer. Apparently that was offensive, and George came unglued...aggressive stance, yelling, finger in your face...sheesh all that over abt $40 dollar (2.x % x $1600). I really didn't have a big problem paying the fee, but the way both he and his wife approached it was EXTRAORDINAIRLY UNPROFFESIONAL. Sad, because I had several other larger jobs I was going to use him on, but...maybe not. Then when I wrote the check they became very upset when I put the company name on the check...hmm, makes me wonder abt cash businesses and taxes... A terrible end to the experience. George Limerick Asphalt Paving, an adequate craftsman, but a very unprofessional businessman. You might try the other George asphalt guy, or the other multiple choices out there. This George treats good customers like garbage.

They had lots of outdoor decor, seasonal plants, and even jams and jarred good, also anything you may need to take care of your yard and flowers. I had some delicious apple cider tea that I will definitely return for next year. There was also a neat clearance area with great deals! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I Love shopping small businesses when I can.

Then after not hearing from them for another week, we called to ask for the estimate. They told us to come to the nursery. We drove up to the nursery and were told they didn't have the price yet for the pavers we needed. At that point, I already knew I wasn't going to hire them. I asked them to give me an estimate for the labor and they weren't quite sure. Why waste my time in coming to the nursery if you can't tell me anything? That's not professional. Finally, after a month, we were told it would cost $1,300.00 for the labor and pavers. By then, I had gotten a quote from someone else which charged me $900.00 for same.
