It was annoying to have to pick out trash while I was mulching. Around 38 bucks for a truckload of mulch. Price seems comprable to every other place in town. Well on a future visit I came to them in the fall and asked if they could come out to my home and give me an estimate on re-doing my current landscaping. I told them that I knew it was their busy time so I asked for a date and time I should call later that fall. The gentleman I worked with said no need for that just give me your name and number and we will contact you when things slow down. I gave him my information and asked 2 more times if he was sure he didn't want to give me a date to call back, he was insistent that it was okay and they would be in touch. Well you guessed it, they never called me back and I forgot about until my wife reminded me that we were going to have someone look at the landscaping and give an estimate on re-doing it. Now we are going to be a season behind and it be even more difficult to get this taken care of.

This review is based on my experience while WAITING for a fence to be installed…read more Disclaimer: The fence is still not installed. We were looking for a fence that was approximately 190 Linear ft. We contacted Mr. Scagnoli on March 7th to get an initial quote on installing a Black Vinyl chain-link fence on a house that we had JUST purchased and had not yet moved into. We did this because we wanted to have a fence installed in a decent time frame, and we have been fully aware of how hard it is to get contractors currently, and how far they are booked out. We received our quote on March 12th at 10:20 am. I immediately contacted him and told him I'd like to get him booked for an install. Mr. Scagnoli told us that he would be able to get us booked for the end of March. This was perfect for us, as we would have just finished our move. The end of March came, and I never heard from Mr. Scagnoli. Now being aware of the current state of busy contractors I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and gave him a ring. I was able to get into contact with him, and he assured me that he was very sorry and that he still had me on the schedule. Mr. Scagnoli informed me that the weather was not holding out, and that we were temporarily pushed back due to this. This was understandable. Mr. Scagnoli told me that we would be the end of April before he'd make it out. I was ok with this, and proceeded to wait until the end of April. The end of April came, and we were about 1 week out from the close of the month. I never heard from him, so I called him. I assumed at this point he would want to at least come measure, and see the property, so I mentioned this to him when I called. He agreed he would need to do that, but that we had been pushed back a little further again due to weather. I asked him when he was thinking, and he again told me it would be the end of May. Now this was a little frustrating, but we understood and decided to wait. The end of May came, and much like the end of April, I called him around 1 week before the close of the month. Mr. Scagnoli informed me that he had a 3 month schedule, and that he was trying to fit us in. I informed him that I needed some sort of idea of when this would be, as we were going on Vacation in June. After talking on the phone for about 15 minutes he informed me that it would be the end of June before he was able to make it out, but he would give me a call back the first week of June to nail down details. We are at the end of the first week of June now, and I've received no such phone call. Mr. Scagnoli came highly recommended from other fence installers in the area. We are now 1 week into June, I've not heard from him, AND all other fence installers are about 4 months out. This is extremely irritating because now, my family of 4 children and a dog will most likely be waiting until next year to have a fenced in back yard. Had we been properly informed by this man in the beginning... we would have made backup plans just incase. I'm highly recommending anyone that books through Mr. Scagnoli make backup plans because if your experience with him is anything like mine, you will not have a fence installed in a timely manner. What I can say about Mr. Scagnoli is that he always remained professional and business like over the phone. I never once had a negative interaction with him over the phone, however this gentleman has affected our ability to have an installer come out in a timely manor. I'm highly unsatisfied with the fact that I've now called this man 8 times in roughly 3 months, and have never gotten what I was promised with each phone call.

Shades slice seeding was brought up during a few of these landscape visits so we gave them a call. Cory met us at our house to discuss with us our options. He had so much knowledge and explained all our options to us, he was very detailed and straight forward. We went ahead and did an entire back lawn re-do. They killed what was there, brought in dirt, started treating the soil and slice seeded us. We are two weeks in to the slice seeding and I never thought I could be this excited to see grass. We finally got the yard we wanted, at a very comparable price to other options. Cory and his team took the time to do the job right the first time and not just fast, you can absolutely tell they all take pride in their work, and my new lawn shows that.

The fertilization treatments started quickly but I hadn't heard anything new about the landscaping project so I began calling/leaving messages weekly in April. By late May I was told the owner was stopping by to refamiliarize himself with the project. I know last year was busy so I waited a few more weeks. After not hearing anything by late June I called 2 more times-more promises on the phone but nothing ever happened. If I'd been told they couldn't do the project or I was just forgotten about I still would have had time to schedule someone to do the work before the season ended. It was a very important project to coincide with some other major improvements I was making at the time. While the fertilization service was fine my overall experience was a huge letdown made worse by the non-responses and broken promises to get back with me. I hate to write a bad review but if someone would have warned me the trouble I'd have to go to just to be lead on like this I would never have hired this company. It's now 2018 and I get an invoice that states service automatically continues unless I request it to end (not a big deal, I'm sure this is normal). So I email them to end service and wait a week-no response. Later I call and am assured a confirmation will be emailed. As I type this it's been 3 full weeks and still no confirmation-the pattern continues...

I can not begin to express our disappointment in quality work, lack of communication, and ruining the shape of the 25 year old trees. They will never look the same again. (Credentials: My partner is a state certified aborist visiting from MA. Her opinion below) Birches are meant to be fully shaped! They didn't ask what the homeowner wanted and, when asked, disregarded the concern halfway through cutting all the way up the side of the trees. We had hired an expert and were left with poorly shaped trees and ruts in the yard from the bucket truck. Sadly, they will not take responsibility for either or offer to fix these oversights. They did not consult the homeowner or walk the property with her or ask what her priorities are. No regard for customers' desires. The foreman stated, "This is how the owner wants the trees to look." (The foreman shared that he worked for the state highway department. I have seen they often trim trees back to the trunk ) My partner, a professional state certified arborist, call for no more than 30% trimming and shared, "They were just lazy, and didn't want to climb to remove the proper braches. They should have consulted the customer." Is this the work you want from an expert? Now the trees will never be the same, The lower growth will NEVER COME BACK. Update: The customer, my mother, is so incredibly unhappy with the work and doesn't want to revisit how upset she is. Nothing can be done to fix the atrocities done to the trees, and she doesn't want to break down over the phone. I am speaking on what she can't bear to share: how ruined the trees were after signing a contract. You should be ashamed for taking advantage of the elderly with a contract missing industry standard language of "remove branches 2 in diameter" or "remove branches 10 ft and below."
