My son was ill & this place was amazing. From intake, until we left, everyone was amazing. As a parent you really care about who you take your kids to see. It's comforting to know the doctor are also parents & can relate to many of the situations. I was very impressed with the experience of the doctor & the kindness of the staff. Thank you. read more

We have long used OMG' Urgent Care service and had an especially good experience yesterday that was worthy of comment. Stephanie greeted us with a smile and quickly got us processed in. Then the M.A. Nicole, promptly got us screened and made the patient feel relaxed and cared for. Finally, the P.A., Rachel ,quickly and accurately assessed the problem and provided prompt and effective treatment. BEWARE!!! I took my son in for RSV, he only had a fever but it was going around, our visit was only 10 min long, they said they didnt want to test him bc it would be more torture for him and he was eating and going to the bathroom ( this was fine with me) We left, our insurance was then billed $212.99, our insurance paid $90, expecting me to pay $121.99 for 10 min and NO TESTING!! I called to make sure i was billed correctly, they assured me i was and said if i didnt have insurance they would have charged me $80!!! i was shocked, this business is biling more then double to our insurance companies!! WATCH OUT!!! read more

I always went to After Hours until they closed and became Occupational Health. My doctor told me to go to OMG Urgent Care when I thought I had the flu. The wait was pretty long and we were the only people there at the time. The receptionist was in back. Eventually, I was waited on by the friendly receptionist. She took me back to the room and she and another woman took vitals, list of symptoms and did the nasal flu swab thing. They explained the procedure and said it'd take 20 minutes for results. Next thing I know, another woman, Iman Chamas, comes in with a mask and gloves on and informs me that I have norovirus. She was great at explaining it, how to treat it, what to eat and what not to eat, what to clean the house with to get rid of it, gave me a prescription for Zofran, and sent me on my way with a work note. The staff is very friendly and I have to say, I prefer it much more than Convenient Urgent Care by TSC. I just gave them 4 stars for waiting so long and not having a way to let them know I was out there in the waiting room. read more

History

Established in 1989.

Dr. Allam completed his residency at the Downstate Medical Center in New York from 1984 through 1986. He completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at the Downstate Medical Center from 1987 to 1989, and is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, and hospital medicine. Dr. Allam, who was in the top 5% of his medical school class, moved to Owosso, MI in 1989 and has served in several different leadership capacities at Memorial Healthcare, including Chairman of the Department of Medicine, Chairman of the Critical Care Committee, Director of the Critical Care Unit, member of the Executive Committee, Respiratory Department Director, Sleep Disorder Director, and Director of In-Patient Management Services. In 2006, Dr. Allam moved Owosso Medical Group from the Memorial Healthcare facility to the new campus at 200 Health Park Drive which now includes the OMG Spa, Sleep Center, OMG Urgent Care, and full lab and Xray facilities.

It's also important to me that a doctor treat fat patients with dignity, and I've been consistently happy with him on this issue. In fact, I've recommended him to the "Fat Friendly Health Professionals" database that's kept on the web (google it if you're curious). This place is very professional. The wait was expected as it is a huge practice, but it offsets with how awesome and friendly the staff is. Great medical attention, great staff, great atmosphere. Not to mention the Primary care providers! I wholeheartedly recommend this business. After reading some reviews I wanted to point out that the amount billed to insurance is a charge based on the fee of the code used, codes have preset prices. The insurance company decided what the patient pays. Owosso Medical Group Charges $80 for an urgent care visit to be fair for people without insurance so everyone can get medical attention when needed. read more
