    Wonderful meal with something for everyone on the menu. Lots of small plates so you can get a chance to share. My favorites of the meal were the bitter leaves with Earl grey and gingerbread- sooo good! The monkfish cheek dish has a lovely, rich curry sauce underneath. The hummus was also fantastic. And to finish off the strawberry trifle was so refreshing. Staff and interiors are on point!

    One of the best places I ate at in Scotland. Made a reservation for lunch for four people beforehand and you must pay a small deposit. Indoor dining only. Even on a weekday at 12:30, the place was buzzing. Restrooms are on the bottom floor. Credit cards accepted. They have plenty of wine options and also have tap water. The ambiance is casual but it's a cute, airy spot. It's industrial looking with high ceilings and would be great for a date. Food-wise, we ordered the following: - Sourdough and butter - a classic start. A bit basic, but when when you're in the UK, you want to take advantage of being able to enjoy their dairy. - Whipped feta - my favorite part of the meal. This came with pita bread and the feta was nice and creamy. We ate the leftover feta with our other bread. - Skate wing - Skate is a fish (didn't know they before but you learn something new every day). It's a larger cut and good for a group that's hungry but still wants to be healthy. - Ricotta gnocchi: a table favorite. The sauce was so fresh and you could lick the plate clean. - Pan fried pork belly - not my favorite, but it was tender - Tender stem broccoli - a standard veggie dish that is on the smaller side - Green beans - I would highly recommend getting this. The mascarpone and the 'nduja elevated this dish. - Grilled ox tongue - it was very tender and was well offset by the pickled veggies

    Service was quick and kind. I have had this place bookmarked for years.... Really... pre-pandemic and finally made it. I was on my own in a Friday at open with no resos and they were able to accommodate me at the communal table close to the kitchen. I had the flatbread w the whipped feta, the cod cheeks and the beef tartare. The whipped feta with the honey and peppers was so flavourful: The beef tartare was over-seasoned and the chef took the feedback and prepped me another one which came out so much better. The cod cheeks were cooked perfectly and the chorizo that was paired with it worked so well with the dish. In other circumstances, I'd definitely come back w a larger party to try more things

    Good food is obvious; it announces itself with the first bite. Served tapas style, Ox and Finch's dishes are creative & marry harmonious flavor combinations. Add to that a reasonable price point, a casual, relaxed vibe, & efficient service, & dinner here is easily a five-star experience. Highly recommend trying: -- lemon & parsley olives (£4) -- fried artichokes, garlic yoghurt, & burnt aleppo butter (£7.50): my favorite dish of the evening -- buffalo mozzarella, cantaloupe, pistachio, & chili (£9) -- pan fried pork belly, apricot, & radicchio (£10) -- chips w/ garlic aioli (£3.95) -- apricot brandy semifreddo, amaretti, & poached apricots (£6) -- chocolate blancmange, malt cream, & salted honeycomb (£7) Notes on two dishes which were a hair shy of perfection: -- dry aged bavette with chimichurri (£14.50 for 200g) needed an outer crust to offset its tenderness -- flavor of ricotta gnocchi, pea puree, & pistachio pesto (£8.50) was sort of one noted; the only dish we didn't finish or take home. Locals & tourists alike know that Ox & Finch is a culinary gem; secure your spot with an advance online booking.

    Selection abounds in small sizes, and fun in large sizes at Ox & Finch. My crew hadn't arrived to town yet so I was going solo. I was happy to see olives (not that anyone else cares) on the menu to accompany my lovely localish draft. Starting the theme for the afternoon, the olives had a citrusy taste that was unique. Second: beef tartare, which was amazing. Nice crunchy eggy combination made me wish this was more than a small plate. Third: sea trout (steelhead) was cooked medium (definitely not overdone) with a tempting sauce. I was sad my friends didn't attend and give me a reason to order 6x as many items since so much looked excellent--even the desserts. I'll return for a pre-meal meal I'm thinking later this week!

    This place has the skills to pay the bills! Michelin recommended and for good reason! The ambiance inside was great, the staff was friendly and food was delicious. The menu is divided up into smaller plates like apps and larger plates meant to be eaten as the main dish with some side options as well. It was more tapas style than typical entrees. Regardless, it was all delicious. The steak to the chicken confit to the lamb were all delicious. The whipped feta and Brussels were probably my two favorite apps that we ordered as well. There truly wasn't anything that I ordered that I didn't like

    Make sure you make a reservation. We tried to walk in, but the next available appointment was 9:30 pm. So we made a reservation for the following night at 9 pm. We enjoyed our dinner here. I like the concept of small dishes tapas style, so we could try a variety of dishes. The artichokes, beef tartare, and lamb shoulder were our favorites. The chocolate cremeux was delicious. It was a warm cozy ambiance. Definitely worth the visit.

I'd heard good things though, so made a booking for a Monday night and arrived excited. I was seated at a table I couldn't quite get into - the restaurant is large, but the tables are pretty close together so it's a little squishy. I can't imagine what it's like on a busy night! We went for the lazy option when ordering, the Chef's Recommendation (£26.95 for two people): salad, patatas bravas, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed chicken, lamb in white wine sauce, chicken croquettes, battered prawns and meatballs. The food arrived pretty much all at once which was great initially but it did mean some of the dishes were cold by the time we got to them! I didn't have a huge appetite and we didn't manage to finish it all so I'd definitely say it was good value for money! Stand out dishes for me was the battered prawns (although it was served with sweet chilli dip, sad times) and I also really liked the croquettes even though they were a little stodgy. I was happy with the food but my Madrid memories from the previous week were perhaps too strong of an influence as I wasn't really wowed by anything we had . The service was really warm and friendly and I felt like we were really well looked after. All up the meal was about £30 including a wine and couple of soft drinks which I think is pretty good value seeing as we couldn't even finish it all!

We ordered a selection of tapas and when our request for table bread was met with confusion we ordered bread and olives instead. The food didn't take long, which was a blessing as by this point we were starving. But we quickly realized perhaps why the food was so quick. I ordered, Brazilian cheese balls, Tempura prawns with an avocado and mango dip, plus some calamari rings with chilli mayo. The cheese balls were quite bready. They are balls of quite tough pastry and a tiny amount of cheese baked into that so the balls were empty. The tempura prawns were done in a sort of batter like you'd get on fish at a chippy, and curled up like won tons, with very little prawn inside. The Calamari rings were probably the best dish, yet even they were quite chewy. The bread! Even the bread and olives was off. The bread itself was fine, mediocre, but the olives. They only sent green ones which I was a little miffed about but could accept it. They weren't pitted! I nearly cracked a tooth on one nibbling into it. I wanted to try and have something good to eat to write about so I ordered some Churros and chocolate dip. What could go wrong? Crunchy churros that's what, crunchy churros. It wasn't okay. Overall just a really poor excuse for food. I realized after we'd ordered that it's probably aimed at students, but I still don't think that's an excuse for poor quality. They didn't end up charging us for the bread and olives, but at that point there wasn't much they could have done to soften my opinion. I've heard it's good for a drink on a night, and maybe thats so, the music was very funky. But avoid the food.

Doh! Anyway the Fino staff were quite happy for us to be there at 5pm so that was fine. The space is really unusual, it's the very top level of the rotunda and is a complete dome. Until last year it was a small casino, but I'd never been, casinos for me are just a way of extending a good night! The glass roof of the dome is covered by a rather rubbish mural of a starry sky, if it was down to me I would remove it so you could see the real, actual night sky, but maybe they're scared of customers seeing pigeon poo. That said the place feels really comfy and welcoming. It has a better whispering gallery than St Paul's though. The guy across the room from me sounded like God booming behind me every time he quietly whispered to his lady friend. Man, it took ages to get served, luckily we had a little appetizer of tasty olives, almonds, and bread with a yoghurt dip given to us when we came in. I have a habit of deliberately not catching the eye of slow -serving staff, just to see how long it will actually take them and how irritated I will get. It did take a while, but just as I was winding up to a sarky summoning one of them appeared. He appeared a bit confused that we hadn't even ordered a drink at this point. I asked to try the North 28 house lager before ordering a whole pint, a request that seemed to confuse him even further, but it was duly tried - it was ok - and ordered. The menu is interesting, with a different slant on some old tapas standards, as well as some very cheffie sounding options. We ordered Albóndigas (meatballs, but this time haggis and black pudding meatballs), Pimientos del piquillo rellenos de carne ( small red peppers filled with meat), Huevos con patatas y chistorra (which are chorizos with potatoes and a fried egg on top to you and me), Crujiente de ternera estofada con puré de boniato (a large beef filo parcel with a sweet potato mash), Gambas al ajillo con pasta brick y salsa romesco (garlic prawns in a filo cone) and Ensaladilla rusa (tuna salad with egg again). Before the food came a probably-Spanish waiter asked us if we knew how tapas worked, and how it could come at different times. We said yes and were immediately hit by the full whack of our order. I complained about the initial service in the review, but once they got moving they really got moving! It came so fast I really wonder how freshly it was prepared. The food itself was slightly underwhelming. My partner commented that the tuna salad was really bland, and the prawns were "nothing exciting". I thought my haggis and black pudding Albondigas were unusual but not quite herby enough, the sauce being rich, but really quite plain, and that pretty much goes for all the sauces. The "solids" were all well-cooked though, and fairly tasty. Particulary noteworthy were the beef filo parcel, I liked that and it was large, and the small chorizos were well-sourced, they were very tasty. All-in-all I would go back, its very early days, and maybe so it was a slightly average tasting for a Glasgow tapas bar, but the creative menu and comfortable surroundings push it easily into the threes. It could become very good.

The ambiance is upbeat and good Spanish music. Fairly extensive menu of street tacos, enchiladas, burritos, tostadas, starters. Good variety of tequilas and margaritas. We shared between three of us: grilled prawn tostadas, roasted cauliflower street tacos, charred corn and refried bean quesadillas, chipotle roast vegetables quesadillas. Husband also ordered shredded honey pork tacos. Everything was very flavorful. Nothing spicy though. The Union Mezcal old fashioned margarita was good with mezcal tequila although a bit too sweet. The Tommy margaritas were even sweeter. Overall a very good dinner and I would recommend.

[sidenote, being from CA, and hearing Catalonian Spanish with a Scottish accent was such a trip.] He presented and explained all of the dishes table side like you expect in a fine dining restaurant, and brought some olives and bread on the house. We had the four specials, papas bravatos (I think) were my boyfriend's favorite, and the Sancho and Calamari were menu staples that were lovely. The only thing was the lack of "chunky homemade chips" as described in the menu. There were bits of potato in the stew but chips? Nope. Would I go back? Definitely. The food was authentic and tasty and its really near my work so v handy! It's small but cute with terracotta pots and plants dotted around inside. Quite quaint. If it wasn't for the garlic in the food it would be an ideal date venue! :)
