Very unprofessional handling of a billing and insurance coordination issue. Instead of working constructively with us, the office sent a response that felt defensive and dismissive. They emphasized their efforts but didn't acknowledge the confusion or offer real help toward resolution. The situation ended with them canceling appointments and inactivating accounts rather than trying to solve the problem. That's not the level of patient care or professionalism we expect from a pediatric dental office. Families deserve respectful communication -- especially when dealing with insurance matters that are often complex. Unfortunately there is poor follow up on behalf their billing department as you can seen, and to make matters worse you will experience a sarcastic email response. You know à dentist office is wealthy when they are able to turn down patients over $150 that was never properly followed up on. read more

We have been going here for 10 years. My oldest is now 16. I have 5 kids and they have taken such great care of them through the years. The staff is great and usually fit us all in together for cleanings and if we have to have further treatment, they have been so kind and attentive. We LOVE Dr. Betsy, she is so patient, gentle and super quick. We have also seen Dr. Amanda and Dr. Catherine and they were both great. I would totally recommend this office. read more

I have a few complaints about this facility and I kept giving them a shot and making excuses and giving them the benefit of the doubt BUT this is my last straw. The dental hygienists are extremely nice so it's nothing on them and Dr. Endrizzi. It was a hit or miss with receptionist. The first time I went the receptionist was really nice . The last few times the vibes had shifted . I'm not sure why Then come the ICD 10 codes. I definitely feel like they tried to scam the system by trying to charge my insurance about us talking about " nutrition" The actual conversation was more like oh what do you give them to eat oh make sure you give them water . At this point I'm thinking it's just small talk and they are just being nice .. then I get my EOB and boom there's that ICD 10 code. The entire conversation I just told them what I already do.. makes no sense . Now , update.... I have the same insurance for the past 5 years! I have been showing up to the same place for the past 2.5 years ... I tell them hey my member id has changed here you go are you guys still in network with my insurance . They say yes! Boom ! I think nothing could go wrong besides the crazy codes they try to charge but I think hey maybe this time might be different . Nope! Same thing! ( I get it my fault!). However, there's a twist! THEY NO LONGER ACCEPT MY INSURANCE EVEN AFTER THEY SAID THEY DID ! And they blamed my insurance company that my insurance had to tell me ...even though I had asked beforehand. I used to be a receptionist at a doctors office .. i know we are supposed to inform them as well and not rely on insurance! So now I have to pay out pocket and I'm the only one getting stolen from. Never going back again! We have insurance for a reason but seems like some providers really are in this for the money and don't care about the patient. read more

I visited the Oxnard location. As I walked in during my appt time (9:40am) I was checking in and told I was late. That my appt was at 9:20. I was willing to play my TWO voicemails that I had confirming & asking for a call back to confirm my 9:40am appt. The front desk person proceeded to tell me there was a 15 min time that I was allowed to be late like if it was still my fault. As we were called into the back, I told the dental assistant (CRYSTAL - I overheard that being her name) that it was my sons first time at the dentist & he was scared and nervous. She proceeded to tell him to lay back on the chair and I can see my sons nerves as much as he was trying to be brave. She went on to basically shove her hands in his mouth to start flossing without giving him a warning or EXPLAINING what was about to happen. He was caught off guard and started to panic. She obviously couldn't finish flossing because he started to cry out of nervousness. She went to the next step of cleaning his teeth.. again NOT explaining what was going to happen so I was the one telling him what was going on but the panic already had settled in because she was just shoving everything in. She proceeds to tell him if he didn't stop crying, "I'm going to tell your mom she can't be in here & she's going to have to leave." For my son, that is something until now he tells anyone that asks how his first appt was .. and this was just yesterday 7.25.22!! One thing to be clear, I in no way would've left my son! As a pediatric dentist, this is a very scary experience for children especially when it's their first time. Once Crystal was "finished" with my son and I say "finished" because she was unable to continue because at that point my son started gaging from having tools shoved in his mouth without being told what was going on & obviously seeing the frustration in her body language.. (must've had a bad case of the Monday's) she could not go on. She got up without telling us what was going to happen next until 5-7 min later she tells the X Ray tech (didn't get her name but she was an African American woman) that my son needed his X ray done but to "be careful with going too back because he gags" The x ray tech was super nice and gentle. Although I did not go in with my son, he did come out complimenting her. Saying she was very nice, very gentle, explained and showed him what she was doing and about to do and he liked that. She made him not feel scared. The next person who assisted us took pictures of my sons teeth. I once again unfortunately didn't get this persons name but she was wearing a Hijab head scarf. Very very nice! Explained and showed my son every step of the way. Couldn't say anything better regarding the dentist either! She was so nice! Very welcoming, very soft spoken, making my son feel like he was in a safe place. Showing him the instruments she would use. The ending of his appt should've been the experience he had as a whole! But now all that will stick out is the beginning experience he had with Crystal. For this being a pediatric dentist, any person working there should realize they are working with children of all sorts of personalities. Some brave, some scared. They should reassure a child everything will be ok instead of making them feel more fear. And to the x ray tech, woman taking my sons pictures of his teeth and the dentist I thank you! Because you made up for the experience of what a first time dentist appt should've been. Lastly, I will not be returning to this dentist & be canceling his upcoming appt. read more

I hate to admit when I am wrong, but I was WRONG about Oxnard Children's Dental Group. After a horrible experience with the pediatric dentist down the street, we decided to give this place another try. When I initially called to make the appointment the front office was busy again, but took my number down and promptly called me back. We made the appointment and I couldn't be any happier with the service from the moment we walked in. Everyone working the front office was welcoming, especially towards my toddler. Once we got in for the initial cleaning, Heidi was excellent with my toddler. She was very patient with my son and took the time to explain things to him. She made him feel very comfortable. Dr. Cathy was also great with my boy and made his first "real" visit a dentist a positive experience. Hats off to Oxnard Childrens Dental Group. They did an awesome job! read more

They are over the top fantastic and, well there is a story behind why I consider them the best. I'm visiting my hometown, I am coming from Texas. The children's Dentist in Texas was an impatient snob. Plus he claimed my kid had multiple cavities. After how rudely he treated us when my son would not cooperate, instead of rebooking with him and allowing my kid to be even more drugged up... I decided to visit home and use Oxnard Children's Dental Group since we had a previous positive experience there. It was a great decision, it turns out he does not have cavities. Plus when he freaked out, instead of being rudely snubbed like the previous dentist they worked with him and naturally calmed him down. So... To sum it up, Oxnard is not making up cavities for your money, they are honest. They also worked with a very uncooperative child and did calm him "without meds." (Though if we drilled I'm sure we would need to drug him.) Also everyone talked to him in positive and encouraging tones. So... Obviously whenever we visit they have our business. . read more

Staff was great, however they wanted to do a new filling next to a filling that fell out, so 2 total, 1 old, 1 new. My gut told me this didn't seem right so when I questioned it they tried to tell me that if I didn't, it could lead to a root canal and a crown. My daughter is 6 and this is a baby tooth, she has never complained about any pain and we brush and floss daily. Also the original filling fell out was their work... I went to get a second opinion by my adult dentist and he took another x ray, showed it to me (they did not) and said he didn't see anything and said she didn't have a new cavity.... It's disappointing that they would make a child go thru this. It also makes me think that the first filling they did when she was THREE was never needed in the first place. I do not recommend going here. Always trust your gut! read more

Dr. Julia and her assistant Fran were absolutely wonderful. My son is older (11), but had previous bad experience with dental work and had been dreading his filling today. Dr. Betsy is absolutely amazing! I called the office after my three year old son fell and broke his two front teeth. Dr. Betsy got him in that same day, as she wanted to make sure his teeth were healthy and safe following his fall. She took amazing care of him! My son instantly felt comfortable around her, which is saying a lot, as it usually takes him a few times to get comfortable around new people, especially enough to let them near his mouth. I was extremely pleased with my young daughter's visit here. One of the greatest gifts my Mom gave me was that she took care of my teeth. I plan on doing that with my little one. The ladies at the front desk greeted us with a smile and were very friendly (especially Susan who I mainly worked with at this visit). We were referred to Dr. Chien and had been waiting a few months to see her due to our insurance. Dr. Chien and the sweet dental assistant, Christina were very nice and did not make me feel guilty about my child's teeth. She went over the treatment plan thoroughly and the visit was very educational for me. We are looking forward to a fresh start here and I am so happy that my little girl had a pleasant experience! I love this place. My kids love going to the dentist because of this office and the staff! I felt so welcomed be everyone working in the office and they helped my kids feel comfortable. The staff made it so they could see all three of my kids at the same time and even helped me with my twin infants! I wasn't sure I was going to be able to make it through the apt, especially with babies crying while my older ones need my attention, but everyone in the office pitched in as needed and helped me out! My son Derek loves this office. I remember growing up and dreading to go to see my dentist. I would cry to my mom and beg her too not take me. We only need to go in once a year for his annual check up and cleanings. He runs in and already knows to run to the video game station to play nintendo. I just love the space theme the office has, it makes me feel like a kid again. Staff is so attentive to the children to make sure they are not scared. Giving them sunglasses so the light is not too bright for them. Also giving them headsets to play a movie for them of their choice. My son had a cavity this year and Dr Cathy Chien was Superb. She knew exactly how to relax my son and make him focus on other things than the unpleasantness of dentistry. He came out cavity free and super happy 4 year old and most importantly not afraid of his dentist. Our family will continue come here until they are too big to come anymore or the office moves to outer space. Thank you and your staff for the wonderful Experience! I give this place 5 stars as former patient & now as a parent to their new patient, staff are as sweet & kind as they were 20 years ago. My son went in for his first visit yesterday, it was reminiscent to my first visit walking into a spaceship getting checked in, the x-ray room the bench is a spaceship. I love that they were patient & worked with him because he was so scared until they fully explained each step they were going to do next. Once they're done they get a prize as well as a dental bag (toothbrush, toothpaste, floss). At the end visit we scheduled his next appointment, & the staff gave a small gift to me as well to welcome us aboard! I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience with them as patient & now parent, which is why I came back because I knew they would give my son the same great experience. My 4 and 6 year old boys have seen both Dr. Cathy and Dr. Betsy several times and we love both of them. Their staff is great too, they totally helped me out. We never have to wait (which I seriously appreciate) and they made me feel so comfortable bringing my crazy boys to the dentist! They even helped me through a trauma when my oldest had a bad fall.
