We always travel with Clorox wipes and after wiping blood, yuckiness and whatever else the spots, streaks and globs were from the high touch areas we new the room wasn't cleaned! There were half used toiletries in the room and previous guest dirty clothes. And while there weren't many guests, the hotel didn't have a clean room to move us to. Additionally, they didn't have clean towels. We had to use mini-towels. Not a huge deal but neither is doing laundry. I thought it would be super noisy between the freeway and fireworks around 4th of July weekend and being on the bottom floor (room 112). However I slept well. The bed was comfortable, I had the air conditioning on full blast and the television on. The breakfast was simple- and I giggled when I discovered the waffle maker made Texas shape waffles. A couple of negatives: I managed to scrape my knee multiple times on the mesh desk chair. Gratefully my friends with the three kids had stuff to sooth the scratches and mitigate the sting- as I worried I might be a slurpee buffet to Killeen's mosquitoes. The soap and lotion had a petro-chemical feel and smell- that was a bit off. I know oil is big in Texas- maybe this is the hotel's attempt at keeping things local. There was chipped paint in the bathtub on the grab bar- but the room was otherwise in great condition. Would I stay here again? Definitely. Great value. $160.46 for two nights was incredibly reasonable. I would just need to remember to bring my own soap and lotion and stay away from the desk chair.
