Fun course! Pace of play was slow today due to a couple of groups ahead of us. Most of the holes allowed for the cart in the fairway. The bridges and portions of the cart path are a little rough. Minor repairs could make a big improvement. One thing I love about this course is that there is a driving range, putting and chipping green. I refuse to play here again. The pro staff at the counter are rude. Asked if there was a league I could join and he said yes but wouldn't tell me how. Told me to ask other golfers. When I asked to get a bottle of water from the restaurant cooler, he said the restaurant was closed. I told him I would pay for it and he stopped vacuuming and told me I can get only ONE bottle. I paid for it but have never played there again. Lost my business. Too many other golf courses around that appreciate people's patronage. read more

I played this course the last week of December 2025 and although the temperatures were cold, the course was in great condition and was well kept I believe that the only shortfall this golf course has is the lack of maintenance in regards to their car paths, but that to me doesn't make a break a course it's just more so nice to have. read more

I have golfed here over 100 times in the last 3 years. My favorite course. The people outside are the best. The golf pro John is the worst person I have ever had to deal with. Everyone knows it. I have seen him muliple times yell at people. He is condisending, arrogant and so unprofessional. Yesterday I was using my rain check and i had a picture of it. he yelled at me saying i needed the hard copy which i didnt have. He went on and on. This is not the first time this has happened to me. The boss came out and told him he was wrong and John was yelling since when???? He is out of control. Nothing ever happens though. No consequences. I will never go back there. I left in tears. Always been one of my favorites but no more. The pro was rude as was bag drop and starter and ranger. Course was in ok shape but not worth the harassment. We were last group out in the am and they rode us all around the first 9. By the time we made the turn I was ready to quit. When the last group out is behind by 15 minutes.... whose fault is it? In the Myrtle Beach area and decided to drive up to NC for a round. We played on a Friday and the course was full as evident by bag drop. Even with all the players -pace of play was average and we didn't wait too long on most holes. The course has some challenging holes and water comes into play on a 1/3 of the holes. We saw a few gators sunning. There is a bar for beverages before and/or at the turn. There is a driving range and putting green for practice. read more

I wish the courses condition matched the layout. Have gone there 3 years in a row in late October. The course has gone downhill. I play from the green tees and the tee boxes either had no grass or 4 inch long new grass. The several fairways were muddy and most had very little grass. A few of the greens had bare spots that affected the putts. The scorecard didn't list the green tees. Our group of 16 to 20 players has come here for several years and many of us will recommend not returning. The other courses we played were in very good condition. read more

Older course from the late 1980s; good layout, but tired. Club house and staff very helpful and food was good. My brother and I played for $45 each from a timeshare meet and greet. Not sure what the full price is, but at this price it was worth it. Would play again, but expect price would be more than it is worth. read more

They send groups off both nines. Pace was absolutely awful!!! Sat on the 9th and 10th tees for 25 mins with 4 other groups! At a price that's not cheap, there are lots of much better options! The course was okay, though in serious need of a good rehab. Bigger issue was service and attitude of the staff. On arrival we were grunted at by two unmasked (don't you know we're in the midst of a pandemic) bag handlers. They would not allow us to take our clubs to the driving range and when it came time to load the carts, one was quite rude when I insisted on handing my own bag, though I explained I was just trying to limit exposure. Again, the course layout was nice; it was likely beautiful in its day. But we were the first out in the morning and the traps, with no rakes, were still a mess from play the day before. That was quite frustrating and I was in more than a few of them. On the back nine, where foursomes were ahead of us as they started groups on the back, we slowed down significantly. I get it, but in front of us was a group of five. An employee came by and explained that he was allowing them to play as a fivesome. Really? Too many choices in the area to settle for second rate service. read more

We had nine guys playing today. We played everyday this week at different course. Every course we played the bag guys were super and the course employees were great. As soon as we dropped our bags at oyster bay we were hit with attitude from the ignorant workers. The attitude was so bad you wanted to leave. We finished our round and were at the 18 th hole waiting for our last group to come in. Less than 5 minutes. From the club house the ignorant workers were yelling and swearing at us to bring the carts back. When we got up to them it was a screaming match. They literally wanted to fight. Never have we had an experience like this. We paid all the money to play and we were treated like crap. We had tickets for lunch and drinks and it was so bad we could even use them. We were not the only group that had a problem with the workers. DO NOT GO TO THIS COURSE. THEY TREAT YOU LIKE SHIT !!!! Worst Myrtle beach golf experience EVER !! read more

The legends group has decided they no longer want local golfers. They have increased rates for players club membership rates by100 to 175% the golfers who supported the courses during the recession and bad times are being replaced by golfers on packages or on vacation willing to pay huge amounts. Played this course today and I can definitely say they have let this course go downhill the past few years. This is a beautiful course and a beautiful layout no question about that. The cart paths are by far the worst in the myrtle beach area with big holes everywhere along the way from start to finish. The greens were excellent as always and rolled nicely. Most tee boxes were void of grass as were some fairways. I want to love this course because of its reputation but unless they can fix some major issues I fear play and conditions will continue to decline. I am really surprised the Legends organization has allowed this to happen. Course is in great shape. Staff is always friendly. Oyster gets a lot of play but they keep up with getting all golfers out on time. Prices in the bar are very reasonable. The course is scenic with hills and marsh views. Lots of wildlife. read more

Oyster Bay Golf Links is the best deal in town. For $54 a golfer receives a great Southern breakfast, 18 holes of golf, lunch and two beers. And that's not the best part: the course is environmentally friendly to wildlife and vegetation. Sometimes difficult to focus on golf while watching the wildlife. Sunset Beach is your destination and Oyster Bsy is your location. By the way, Rose our server is a great lady. read more

The course was in decent shape shortly after Hurricane Ian. The crew did a decent job cleaning up the fairways and greens. The staff, though sparse at the time, was very helpful and polite. A few gators on the periphery, but they were docile. read more

Never ever will I play this course again. First of all the course is not what you would expect for a ocean course. The greens are terribly slow and we're uncut!! The pace of play was horrendous. When we complained the marshal just said we r on time. This was on a Thursday and there were not that many groups out there. We sat on every tee box at least 10 minutes and in the fairway on approach the same!!!! Never will they get another dime from us. Oyster Bay is a beautiful course a short drive from Myrtle Beach that is associated with the Legends Golf Resort. We played the course as almost an afterthought on a 5 round long weekend and it was easily the nicest course we played. The course is beautifully maintained and is laid out so there is water on almost every hole. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The amount of water creates a good number of forced carries. There are also gators all over the course, so you need to be careful with any shots along the edges of the water or the brush. It certainly makes for a very interesting round. If you're going to Myrtle on golf trip I would definitely recommend giving Oyster Bay a shot. read more

Got a pretty good lunch and golf deal for $50 which was about right. Course has v pretty views but it feels old and facilities dated. Not worth more than $35 a round with the level of courses in Sunset. Look for a deal on the round or call the tee shop. read more

Played this course with a large group of 16 people who were part of a package deal with the Legends in Myrtle Beach. While the scenery and aesthetic beauty of the course is very good, the golf course itself suffers from some poor maintenance issues. Several of the greens had some type of mold or fungus. Large sections of fairways on some holes had thinning grass and outright bare spots. Contributing most importantly to the two stars was the fact yardages were non-existent on the course. No yardage discs, no poles, no yardage on sprinkler heads, nothing marked along cart paths. It left me guessing how far to hit many shots. Because of the severely deep bunkers, water near and front of greens, I believe this course could easily get to 4 stars with some yardage markers and little extra maintenance TLC. I would not recommend playing this course until the management fixes these issues. I do need to add that the pro shop and clubhouse staff is extremely friendly and helpful. read more

5 years ago this place was great. Save your money and play Mini golf. Worst golf course in the MB area. From the horrible greens to the nonexistent roughs to the diseased fairways. The greens are dead and unplayable. There are two temp greens that horrible as well. After the 4th hole I wanted to go back and get my money back and I was even par. Even the cart paths suck. So with that being said, stay clear of this course. read more

Played Legends, Oyster Bay today. It's just across the border in N. Carolina. About a 25 minute drive from where I was, just North of Tidewater Golf Course. If Tidewater rates a 10 out of 10, this course rates a 7 out of 10. Very nice tree lined fairways and plenty of water with crocs to make them true water hazards. A lot of wildlife as crows battle hawks above you for territory and herons are plentiful and align the marsh's. Large Carp in several of the ponds with snapping turtles. Banded squirrels looking for crackers or chips raid your carts as you walk to hit your ball. Beautiful homes align the fairways but the cart paths are in need of repair but not the worst I've ever seen. Not the friendliest staff we've encountered but not obnoxious either except for the cart girl who could take some lessons on how to be friendly but she did refill our coolers with ice and that was extremely important in this humidity. Shot an ungodly 81 today in 87 degree heat, high humidity and localized thunderstorms. Had 2 birdies and left one shot a foot from the hole. I could knock off 5 or more strokes if I played it again. This is a good course! read more

So we have been coming down here from Michigan for the last few years. If you would have asked me in the past about our experience I would say that the pro shop/restaurant staff are miserable but the course is nice. Not this year! They have a new lady running the restaurant named Debbie she was amazing!! We had the first tee time of the morning and were the first golfers to the course and she never stopped helping us and smiling the whole time we were there. Now, that's customer service! Legends/Oyster Bay you NEED to keep Debbie around and hire more people like her! read more

Played Oyster Bay 6/16/2019 as a group of 32. Looked forward to playing this course. But after getting on the first green the golf course is in terrible shape. If you are playing this as part of the Legends package you need to change to another course if possible. All tee boxes and greens are bad. If I could have gotten money back I would have. What a circus going on there this morning with tee times every 8 minutes but going off of both front and back 9. We had first tee time off back 9 at 7:00am and finished back nine in 1hr and 50 minutes but it still took over 5 hours to finish since the course was bumper to bumper. When we finished our 18 holes there were a ton of people waiting to go off hole #1 and #9 but they needed golf carts because they were out. I'm a big fan of Oyster Bay and have come here 2 years in a row when doing the Myrtle Golf Trip with my buddies. It is a scenic course with lots of water and marsh lands. Plenty of gators and wildlife as well! We got rained out this year so we were only able to get in the 12 holes or so, but they gave us a rain check for nine the next time. I definitely recommend this course for anyone in the area! Decent clubhouse and bar area as well. read more
