Not impressed. First, I found the service to be lacking right when I walked in the door. There are a lot of young teenagers working the front of the house and they didn't seem to have much experience. They boast a happy hour but the server couldn't tell me what the happy hour specials were. Instead, she asked what I wanted to drink and she would find out if it was on special. I ordered the oyster po-boy and a half-dozen raw oysters topped with their Bloody Mary concoction. The po-boy was small but the oysters were tasty and cooked perfectly. The raw oysters came on a small plate without ice and all of the oysters were tipped sideways to fit on the plate but the oyster juice and Bloody Mary (bloody mix, vodka & lime) topping had drained into the plate. They were fresh and shucked clean but I didn't feel like I got what I ordered. Lastly, as I was waiting for my check two young servers were standing right next to my table gossiping about a local customer sitting at the bar and then started to complain about receiving small tips. I couldn't tell if this was just immaturity or if they were trying to guilt me into leaving a decent in spite of mediocre service. I won't be returning, that's for sure. read more

Great food! If you're visiting Pine Mountain, you really should check out Oyster House for a good seafood meal. We had oyster poor boy and a salad on Friday and it was so good that we went back on Saturday for dinner. We had seafood dip, catfish poor boy and clam chowder. The sign outside says, "Seafood done right" and they're right. It's really good seafood. The battered fish is fried to perfection, crispy delicious and not dripping with grease. The waitstaff are all very friendly and attentive giving very good service. As an added bonus, the bar makes an excellent top shelf margarita . My husband makes a killer margarita but I try margaritas when I see them on a menu and often they taste like Mountain Dew with a splash of Jose Quervo. I didn't want to leave the table until I had finished every drop, it was that good. I know that all sounds too good to be true but trust me, you won't be disappointed. read more

4 stars may be much but I've been twice now. Once for dinner and now lunch. Both times I ordered the Baybee bucket. Dinner the first visit was good. Solid 4 stars. I always need 2 visits to a place before giving a rating since consistency is important to me. Lunch today was underwhelming. Both times the potatoes were seriously underdone. I gave this restaurant three stars because of the service. The waitress tried to correct our dinner but could not perform miracles for food quality. First, we had the lobster bisque. It was very pasty and had lumps of flour, not lobster all through the soup. Next, the fried food flour mix was VERY salty, too much to taste the flavor of the fish, shrimp, oysters and scallops. The parsley potatoes were mushy, not edible. I don't get it. How do these restaurants get such high reviews and stay in the food business. The food was also very expensive, it should have been good for that much, our bill for two people was over $100-no drinks! read more

Ok so I came here 2 nights in a row. Last night the food was really good so I figured it may be a fluke. Tonight the food was just as good, and the service mediocre just as yesterday. This is an oyster and fish and chips place mainly. All is really fresh and very good. Food here is definitely a 5 star. Service is more like 1-2 star. It isn't bad as much as unknowledgeable and untrained. I asked the waitress what kind of oysters they served and the answer "via the chef" was Louisiana, I assume they meant apalachicola bay but they had no idea. I figured they would be proud of type but go figure. I had to ask multiple times for anything (napkins, ETC). They have 3 sizes of beer 12, 20 and a half yard as well as growler pictures. I had to look around to figure it out (the beer sizes they offered) since I was never told. I figured the staff would try to upsell but they seemed to have now idea what they had or offered. Definitely room for improvement. The kitchen quality is spot on so I wouldn't miss it. Service will hopefully improve over time. read more

EAT HERE...oh my a gem in a small town. Don't count it out because of the decor, the food is amazing. By far the best mac and cheese I have ever had and the fried catfish and shrimp had the best batter. Top it off with another best of Tatar sauce and cole slaw. These other reviews must be from locals or something. This hole is in no way deserving of anything more than two stars. I am originally from the Gulf Coast, but I live in Atlanta these days. I am very critical of decent seafood inland. To be fair, the freshness seafood here was decent. Unfortunately, these Yahoos had no idea how to cook it. Everything was wayyyyy overdone - especially the oysters which were already way overpriced. The fact is that there isn't really anything else worth a sh*t to eat around Pine Mountain, so you'll end up here anyways. Just be prepared to spend an exorbitant amount of money on less than mediocre seafood and sub par service. read more

We really wanted to love this restaurant. The service and atmosphere were excellent! But the food disappointed. Two of us had fish frys which were dry. The lobster bisque and clam chowder were bland. The stuffed oysters were over seasoned. However The fries and shrimp cocktail were awesome and the Mac and cheese dishes were very good. I offer this review hoping it will help the chef improve some of the dishes. And I have to admit I'm not southern, if that helps. read more

We are so happy to have lucked out to find our new favorite restaurant passing by the weekend they opened, we were looking for oysters! Peter the owner is also the head chef and goes above and beyond to make sure customers are happy. He even custom steamed the oysters for us. It's a very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. It is so popular already, they are adding a patio with televisions to watch games. We love the Baby Bee meal for two which is about $50 dollars for two lobster tails, snow crab clusters, shrimp, low country boil with potatoes, corn on the cob (great) and sausage. Lobster shrimp and mac is awesome and they also have Lobster bisque. They have a different variety of Oyster shooters. If you love seafood, you won't be disappointed! read more

Food was ok. Plates are really small for their prices, just missing some good value for what they are charging. Their table wear only included a fork, not even a knife. At the end of the meal and $50 later we were hungry because of the size of their plates. We got the salmon and the shrimp and scallops w/ rice pilaf and 1 side. They really should include some bread and butter. Who says you've got to go to the gulf to get excellent seafood? The food at the Oyster House is as good as any seafood restaurant on the gulf, and better than most. The fish and chips is huge and prepared perfectly. Get the parsley potatoes as a side. And the slaw is great too. All the fried platters are amazing. Crisp, light, not oily. Great seasoning. The shrimp bucket is the best deal in the house. Amazing amount of shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. I like the hand breaded better than the tempura batter, but both are good. If you have someone who isn't up for seafood in your party the nachos are great and are large enough to need their own zip code. Oysters on the half shell are fresh and tasty. And make sure you save room for dessert. Every dessert I've had is fabulous. On weekends it's busy, so expect a little wait or come early or late. No worries though, the tables turn fast and a short wait is well worth the reward. You have got to eat here! read more

My son owns the waterview lodge wedding and corporate meeting venue in pine mountain and has been telling us we needed to try this place. Some of the best southern seafood I've had. Mercedes was our waitress and she was awesome, anticipating our every need. We ordered the "bowl" of lobster bisque to share at $6.95, it came in this gigantic gravy bowl looking thing, way more than enough for two. It was very good, some of the best I've had. My wife ordered the shrimp po'boy and I got the half order of fried shrimp. It was like sitting on the gulf and eating fresh off the boat. Something southerners will appreciate is the sweet tea, sometimes it's the little things s that make it even more special. Also, their home made tartar sauce was great. Going back to try the bucket for two, that includes two lobster tails, crab legs, shrimp, red potatoes, corn and sausage. It's worth the trip. read more

Groups BEWARE! We had 12 people (5 couples and 2 singles) together for dinner and when the individual bills were delivered there was about a 30% automatic tip added gfor groups of 6 or more. My wife and my dinners totaled a little over $35.00 and the tip that was already added was $10.78. OUTRAGEOUS! And complaints to the "manager", aka bartender, was met with an explanation of that is the amount that the computer automatically adds. My wife and I have been goin ther about every 6 weeks, but no more. If they need to rip off our friends when we go as a group then they don't need my money at all! read more

We ate at the Oyster House yesterday for lunch and it was really great. We we visiting the state park and decided to have lunch in Pine Mountain. Wow comes to mind when they brought us our food.
