Beautiful bar as the back wall

So I always need a lunch stop between Atlanta and PCB. Columbus seems like the obvious stopping point and I think Charred Oak Kitchen is gonna be my regular stop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is beautiful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], the staff was attentive and the food was exactly what you want for a nice break from the highway.

Headed to Charred Oak Kitchen and Bar. We will let you know how it goes.

We stopped in n to give Charred Oak Kitchen and Bar a try for an early Anniversary dinner. I ordered the grilled Chicken Alfredo and after the suggestion of our waitress added shrimp to my dinning experience. My meal was delicious and the Alfredo sauce was just right. My better half also echoed the sentiment that the Chicken Florentine and sides were delicious. Naturally we had to go all in on dessert. I went for the Peach Cobbler with ice cream and my better half went for the cheesecake. Well let's say they were beyond delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant atmosphere fit the bill and Yes We will be back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Cajun Shrimp & Grits 10/10

The food was great! I tried the NY Strip and it was cooked to perfection. Seasoned very well, I didn't need steak sauce. The squash casserole 10/10. The bourbon glazed salmon was good. Fried green tomatoes were thick af although seasoned well it brings it down to 7/10. Collard Greens were sweet yet vinegary. Could use some hot sauce. The black eyed peas were yummy. I also got the Cajun shrimp and grits. 10/10 as well. The peach cobbler was basically a cake. It was still delicious (since I like cake) but I was expecting more peaches and more c cobbler. The waiter needs a raise. He was our host and waiter, not just for us but the entire restaurant. Yet he was still very nice and attentive. We didn't need for anything. I forgot his name but he is very tatted. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was cool and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a larger party when we visited that was loud but not bothersome.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Basically the place was poppin lol[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Chicken florentine

First time here and will definitely be coming back. The service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The setting is modern and unique.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Most importantly, the food was outstanding. For apps we shared the Cajun dip and fried green tomatoes. Both were top notch. For dinner, we had chicken florentine, seafood pasta, and prime rib. Everyone raved about all three dishes. My chicken florentine was BURSTING with flavor. The desserts sounded great but we didn't have room so show up hungry.

    Barrel burger and wilted greens.

Had the Barrel burger and the greens came wilted and brown. replacement greens came barely any better. Burger tasted like fish oil as if it had been cooked on the same spot as their salmon BLT. fires are good and drinks were good. service is shy and not very assertive when order is not to standard. For the price, I expected top tier service and food. Not a favorable experience at all.

Peach Palmer and Bramble Para Casamigos

Fantastic! Husband and I were just passing through Columbus and stumbled across here and we were SO happy with our experience! The drinks were fantastic, we ordered the Peach Palmer and the Bramble Para Amigos (highly recommend the peach palmer is was delicious.) Food was awesome! Ordered the chicken Florentine and the lemon pepper chicken and both were perfect! Service was great as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Little loud inside but outside patio was perfect little paradise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress, Ashley was awesome! 10/10 would recommend! (Bonus it's in the cutest little neighborhood!)

Th outside and inside of the restaurant is really nice and quaint. The service was great, your drink was always fresh. We were thinking it may be a hidden gem but the food was mediocre. My steak was rare and tasty and so was the meatloaf but not what we were expecting with the burgers. I am not saying it's not worth a try but just don't expect it to be gourmet style. We are again here visiting my son and he wanted to try this place for a while. Four people, one beer and 3 soft drinks, 2 burgers a steak and meatloaf and the bill was over $100. Not bad but not worth it for 2 burgers.

    Shrimp and Grits

I found Charred Oak when I was online looking for a good burger. And, there are several options on their menu. As it happens, I opted for the Shrimp and Grits instead. Really some of the better made shrimp and grits I've had in Columbus. My server was very attentive. I sat at the bar and just had a relaxed lunch with an ale from Texas. I imagine it is more packed in the evenings when people are home from work, as it looks to be apart of a quaint residential community. I'll definitely go back to try the Smoked Salmon Dip and the Smoked Duck Salad!

My three guest and myself are all senior citizens. This was my third visit to Charred Oak Kitchen & Bar, I had never experienced a problem until last night 8/17 with my supposedly 14oz Ribeye steak order. We brung the issue to the Only management on duty (Kitchen Mgr) attention, my steak was possibly 7oz at best because it was over 50% blubber fat, being a senior I suffer from multiple illnesses to include high cholesterol blood pressure and diabetes. I asked to have either another steak or a 50% discount on this order only not any refund. I was told all of their steaks come in fatty like this and unfortunately there isn't anything to be done because all sales food or drinks within Charred Oaks are final. (Listed at the very bottom of the menu. I disagree with this because our cocktails were made incorrectly and they remade them (Yet all sales are supposed to be final) we were told Only the owners could take care of any issues but also said they can't be reached at said time. To add insult to injury the menu states 36.00 for the Ribeye yet I was charged 37.44 without cause. We previously highly recommended this establishment to are couple friends who came with us to dine this evening and to have this poor food product prepared was a disgrace. The four of us will never eat there again because they obviously don't have quality concerns for any of their customers with individual issues and or concerns. Please see the 7oz of fat in pictures.

Not a lot of choices in Columbus for Easter and why we appreciate the effort…read more We were not impressed with the quality of the food The ham had been sitting out forever And many of our dishes were very dry. There were no lids on the chafing dishes. $35 is not a lot though and while we appreciate the time in cooking, the quality of the food was not great and we ate 1/4 of each plate and we only had one plate each Finally, we gave our server eight $20 cash gratuity for the two of us and it wasn't until we got home that we realized there was an additional gratuity of 15 or $16 or something on our $70 bill so the waitress actually made $35 gratuity on a $70 bill if not more. When we were giving her the cash gratuity, it would've been good if she would've notified us we were also going to be charged on my card for the gratuity I think saying that we only ate 25% of the food we took from the buffet and watching how many people were leaving was a clear indication. The quality of the buffet was not great and I standby many items were being left out much too long and not being covered and protected, including the hot entrées and the casseroles. Lesson learned and thank thank you

Granted, the restaurant was pretty busy but NO ONE greeted me. I witnessed the pregnant bartender tell an older woman that she hadn't waited on me. I wasn't checked on again until 7:48pm when the older woman asked if I wanted another glass of wine. Absolutely not! It's very obvious you have to know them in order to be served in a timely fashion. We are all paying customers. Treat us a such. It's very disappointing as I always support local businesses. I left a review when they first opened and it doesn't seem to be getting any better despite new ownership.

When I received my to-go order, I noticed the lobster roll looked very wet and mentioned it to the bartender. She explained that it was prepared more like a lobster salad. Unfortunately, once I tried it, I found it extremely disappointing. It tasted overwhelmingly like vinegar and lettuce, with only a few very small pieces of lobster that didn't have much flavor at all. The sweet potato fries were excellent, but the lobster roll itself was inedible for me. For a dish that should be a highlight, this was a major letdown. The kitchen may need additional training or quality control to ensure consistency and proper preparation.
